So...is reading each game tedious? I'll try to do more summarizing than play by play.

I personally like it the way it is. It's exciting to me.

It depends. If it has a good beat to it like yours, then it is great to read. If it is crappy like mine, then it is a pain to read. Nice job on the log!

GAME TWO: Iowa City Country Buchannan (87 DC CU – three, SL – three, CB – two, FO – three) versus Kansas City Royals Meche (96 BA 2SF – one, HSL – two, DCB – four, CH – two)

Lineup: Cust continues to sit, replaced at DH by Harris; Schrager plays first again

Inning three: the Royals broke the ice on a single, a fielders choice, and then another single by Jose Guillen.

Inning four: the Country tied the game when Milledge singled, stole second, and scored on a Spilborghs single to left. End of four, game tied at one

Inning six: the Country pulled ahead on singles from Milledge, Spilborghs, and Fields

Inning seven: Buchanan, a minor-league recalled to give the regular starters more time to recover, pitched a very solid six innings, allowing only one run with six strikeouts, and was removed at the start of the seventh in favor of Stratton.

Inning nine: the game entered the ninth inning with the Country clinging to a two – one lead, and Chamberlain was immediately brought in to close out the game. Two groundouts sandwiching a strikeout closed out the game, Chamberlain saving the two – one win.

COMMENT: This makes 2 very tight games in two weeks against Meche. Last week, the game between Meche and Depablos entered the 9th at 0-0; today's game entered the 9th at 2-1. That the Country came away with wins in both is very fortunate.

I actually don't play every game anymore, though I'm considering it. But still, nicely done!

I'm just gonna go with the flow. As long as playing the games are fun, I'm gonna play them. If I start blowing out everyone, it'll get boring and ill adjust the settings or trade away my top players. If I'm just blowing out the lower tier teams, maybe I'll sim those.

As for the blog, I think I'll take it one series at a time. I'll play a series and then think about whether I'd rather post each game separately or 1 post summarizing the series. I'll try to use the subject line of my posts to indicate whether it's a single game or several.

Game three: Iowa City Country Depablos (93 DC SL – four, CB – four, VSL – one) versus Kansas City Royals Gobble (93 DE SL – two, CB – two, CH – one)

Lineup: Cust reported in purple condition and was sent down to the minors; Johnson, in blue condition, was recalled to the major-league roster. Johnson bats cleanup in the DH spot and Harris plays first base

GAME SUMMARY: This game was a complete blowout, with the 4th inning deciding the game. We now take you to the 4th inning, with the Country leading 2-1. The Royals got their run on a Ross Gload home run in the 1st and the Country scored their 2 on back-to-back doubles by Fields and Harris and a McCurdy single:

Depablos escaped a jam when, with runners at second and third, no out, Josh Hamilton grounded out to third-base, forcing the runners to stay; the next Royal popped out to short, and Pena grounded out to second. In the bottom of the inning, Harris hit a one-out double into the left-field corner and scored on an Erdos single. Huisman followed with a single and, after the runners moved to 2nd amd 3rd on a wild pitch, McCurdy singled home Erdos, leaving runners at first and third for Orlando Hudson who hit a sacrifice fly to deep left field. Milledge singled; Spilborghs doubled home both baserunners, causing the Royals to make their second pitching change in the game. Johnson smashed a ball to the second baseman and it ricocheted off his glove and into center field, allowing Spilborghs to score. Fields followed with a two run homerun. End of 4, Country lead 10 – 1.

After Erdos' opposite field home run in the 5th, the Country inserted some defensive replacements (Towles replacing Huisman at short; Sweeney replacing Erdos in left), but the runs kept coming, as the Country extended their lead to 14 – 1 after 7, and 17-1 after 8, which stood as the final score of the game.

Comments: this was a strong offense of showing all-around, but McCurdy, the Country's number one pick in last year's draft and the current starting catcher and ninth place hitter, was named player of the game. McCurdy went 4/5 with four RBIs and two runs scored. In Dan Johnson's first live action in about a week, he went 2/5 with one RBI and one run scored. Depablos, currently fighting for the role as "staff ace," pitched another very strong game, allowing one run over eight innings. He struck out four while allowing seven hits.

GAME FOUR: Iowa city country Jimenez (98 EB CB – two, CH – four) versus Kansas City Royals (Jimenez 93 DB SL – one, CB – two, CH – two)

Lineup: Erdos and Milledge reported in blue condition and have the day off. Spilborghs stays in right field, but moves to second in the lineup; Johnson is back at first, batting third; Fields moves from third to left field and bats fourth; Harris is at DH, batting fifth; Schrager plays third and bats six; and, Sweeney plays centerfield and bats eighth

Inning one: the Country's first two batters, Hudson and Spilborghs, hit pitches hard, but the Royals outfielders tracked them down. Johnson singled. Josh Fields approached the plate and took a fastball up in the zone for strike one. He then swung at a changeup, away, smashing it into the deep left-field bleachers for a two run homerun.

Inning two: Olivo hit a solo homerun with one out on an 0-1 outside changeup. The Country got that run back in the bottom half of the inning when Sweeney singled, went to third on a hit and run with McCurdy, and scored on a sacrifice fly from Hudson. McCurdy then came around from first to score on a Spilborghs double over the centerfielder's head. End of two, Country lead four – one

Inning three: Josh Fields led off the bottom of the inning with a homerun off of another Jimenez changeup. Jimenez stuck with his changeups and retired Harris, Schrager and Huisman on pop outs to right field and second base, and a ground out to second. End of three, Country lead five – one

Inning five: the Royals were poised for a big inning when the last three batters of their lineup started the fifth with two singles and a double. Hudson threw home on a fielders choice to get the first out, leaving runners at first and third, but then a Gload double brought home both baserunners. A ground out to second allowed the tying runner to reach third-base with two out for the dangerous Jose Guillen. Guillen sharply singled to center field before a Josh Hamilton groundout to third ended the four run half inning.

The Country quickly grabbed the lead when Spilborghs singled, moved to second on a Johnson fielders choice and scored on a single from Josh Fields, with Fields moving to second on the throw. The Country left Fields stranded at second and the fifth inning ended with the Country leading six – five.

Inning seven: the Royals number nine hitter tripled over the drawn in outfield, and scored the tying run on an infield hit up the middle. A fielders choice and a Guillen single gave the Royals a one run lead. End of seven, Royals lead seven – six

Inning nine: a solo homerun with two outs by Mark Teahan doubled the Royals lead. In the bottom of the inning, Brett Tomko (96 ED SL – two, CB – one, SP – two) came in to close out the game. Hudson singled, and then 2 fielders choices and a wild pitch left Dan Johnson on second with Josh Fields representing the tying run at the plate. Josh Fields swung hard at a split fingered fastball up in the zone, bouncing it over the pitcher up the middle, and then the Royals centerfielder committed a huge error in judgment by throwing home when that run was virtually meaningless, allowing the slow footed Fields to reach second. At this point, the Country immediately replaced Fields with Milledge at second. Harris flies out on an 0-1 pitch to short, ending the game 8-7, and ending the Country's amazing win streak at 13.

Aw, so sad to see a winning streak go away like that. Oh well, you'll get them next time Mr. Erisa!
