There's been so many upsets and weird real-life standings that I'm fine with being 4 games back of mac. Perhaps this week the NFL will play out like it should and good teams don't lose to bad teams. That would help. (Then again, so would the normal refs coming back. Please?)

All I know is that while you can't win it early, you can certainly lose it. Zero already being 8 games back will be tough to overcome

I disagree at this point. We could have another crazy week here and Zero could go, say, 11-5 and be right back in the hunt with some consistency in the next couple weeks (or another big week). The standings are just 3 weeks in, there's a LOT of time for moves to be made.

Picks!
---
Browns @ Ravens: Ravens (Locked & Secure Pick Of The Week, brought to you by LifeLock.)
Panthers @ Falcons: Falcons (This will either be a shootout, or... a medium-scoring game. Sure as hell won't be a 10-7 thriller. )
Patriots @ Bills: Bills (I feel like the Patriots are really a bit vulnerable this year, and the Bills have some great potential. Let's see Mario Williams introduce Brady to the Buffalo topsoil and Tashard Choice pick up some slack on the fantastic yet injurious run game. This could either be my awesome pick or my Bucs-Giants pick. :? )
Vikings @ Lions: Lions (No comment, other than MEGATRONNNNNNNN.)
Titans @ Texans: Texans (The Titans picked the wrong week to try and start momentum: Arian Foster & Co. will hammer them back down.)
Chargers @ Chiefs: Chargers (I still don't trust the Chiefs.)
49ers @ Jets: 49ers (49ers are maybe the best team in the league, and the best in the NFC in my opinion. They'll bounce back from their stunner to beat the unsurprisingly unstable Jets)
Seahawks @ Rams: Rams (The Seahawks struggle on the road, have one less day of rest, Russell Wilson hasn't been an overly impressive passer statwise by any means (plus STL's secondary is quite good), and Sam Bradford should get back on his feet here and get back to form. I don't see Seattle building off of that absolute fluke on Monday)
Dolphins @ Cardinals: Cardinals (4-0 Arizona? If I'd said this preseason, I would have been laughed out of whatever establishment in which I made said statement)
Raiders @ Broncos: Broncos (I can see an upset here, but I feel like the Broncos have enough to pull out this game)
Bengals @ Jaguars: Bengals (Easy peesy pick for me here. Andy Dalton is as hot as his hair color right now.)
Saints @ Packers: Packers (See the comment for Arizona, but reverse the numbers and replace AZ with NO. Still, it makes sense to me now. Srsly.)
Redskins @ Buccaneers: Buccaneers (The Bucs dislike me this season a decent bit, so I feel like I'm taking a little leap of faith on this one.)
Giants @ Eagles: Iggles (Playing at home here has me sticking Philly over El Gigantes. They'll rebound from a loss against the surprising Cardinals and their underrated D.)
Bears @ Cowboys: Cowboys (Because I am still meh on the Bears and am slightly less meh on the 'Boys)

Well, of course he can. But realistically, what are the odds of that?

Browns @ Ravens: Ravens (Very easy pick)
Panthers @ Falcons: Falcons (I just traded Newton and Eric Decker for Martellous Bennett and Tony Romo... he better not blow up.)
Patriots @ Bills: Patriots (Should be an easy game for New England; Jackson is still banged up and Spiller is most likely out.)
Vikings @ Lions: Lions (Please...)
Titans @ Texans: Texans (Duh! Pick of the week... was that sjax's thing?)
Chargers @ Chiefs: Chargers (Chiefs played great last week, but I think Philip Rivers will bounce back against a week Chiefs D.)
49ers @ Jets: 49ers (The loss to the Vikings was a fluke.)
Seahawks @ Rams: Seahawks (lol Golden Tate)
Dolphins @ Cardinals: Cardinals (8-1 in their last 9, right? Can't argue with that, especially against a Reggie Bush-less Dolphins squad.)
Raiders @ Broncos: Broncos (Seems like the right pick...)
Bengals @ Jaguars: Bengals (I like Dalton - I kind of screwed myself over for the sake of picking all the same teams as mac... I could've been 9-7 [Ravens and Bengals games].)
Saints @ Packers: Packers (lol Saints... lol Golden Tate.)
Redskins @ Buccaneers: Redskins (RG3 better do better than Newton for my sake.)
Giants @ Eagles: Giants (I think this will be a close game.)
Bears @ Cowboys: Bears (Ugh... I hate you, Chicago.)

Well... there are 14 weeks left... if he beats mac by one game each week he'll win by a landslide.

I mean sure, you're in better shape, but he's not out of it by any stretch of the imagination.

Very true.

And I just realized that this is the first bye week (unless Dish and S-Jax both missed a game)

1. Yes, but 4-0 is still quite out there, considering that they had the Pats and Eagles on their schedule.

2. Seriously, look at the results for Weeks 2 and 3, how mercurial they are. Paul McCartney went 11-5 one week, then 5-11 the next. Meanwhile, Mac went just 2 games over .500 for the two weeks, yet shot up to a 2 game lead in the standings. A 10-6/9-7 for Zero, assuming the average records of all of us don't vary, puts him in quite decent shape heading into Week 6.

Obviously you're in a better position at this moment, but there is no way anyone has lost yet (not even Zumi! :P). Zero is still very much in it, as is everyone else, and at this point it's incredibly hard to predict ANYTHING, especially the way the season has played out thus far. Next week, you could be near the bottom and Zero could be middle of the pack;you would be wise to not deny that such things can happen. It's a mad, mad world.

And yes, this is a bye week for a couple teams.

My picks for Week Quatro:
Browns @ Ravens: Ravens (No doubt in my mind, not even te Browns can pull off this upset)
Panthers @ Falcons: Falcons (Should be a good one with lots of scoring but the Falcons are the better team imo. A possible upset by Carolina for sure.)
Patriots @ Bills: Patriots (Brady can't lose to the Bills, right? Right?)
Vikings @ Lions: Lions (Vikes are playing better as of late, but once again I'm going with the Stafford/MEGATRON combo.)
Titans @ Texans: Texans (For the past few years, I've seen the Titans as in the middle of the pack. There's times where they might get blown out but I'm not unwilling to pick them against a better team. This time I won't however. Texans are one of the most balanced teams in the league.)
Chargers @ Chiefs: Chargers (If Jamaal Charles keeps up what he did last week, Chiefs might win but I'll go Chargers anyway. I trust Rivers will get the win here. Should be a fun one.)
49ers @ Jets: 49ers (One of the better games this week, but the 49ers have simply been dominant. The Jets are good but San Fran has been the best team in the league and I think they'll come out on top again.)
Seahawks @ Rams: Rams (I don't think Seattle deserves to win this week after what happened on Monday Night. Their defense is tough but I'm gonna go with the Rams for the hell of it.)
Dolphins @ Cardinals: Cardinals (Cardinals have been one of the hotter teams so the Dolphins shouldn't be much of a challenge. As we've seen, anything can happen.)
Raiders @ Broncos: Broncos (Peyton should be back to his old self but I think the Raiders will put up a fight.)
Bengals @ Jaguars: Bengals (I love the Dalton/AJ Green team. One of the ones where I could be completely wrong by picking the better team and they get upset. Oh well.)
Saints @ Packers: Packers (Packers will be motivated to get back out there after the MNF debacle and the Saints continue on their downward spiral. As they should.)
Redskins @ Buccaneers: Redskins (RGIII will impress again but I don't think it'll be a blowout. Bucs definitely have a chance.)
Giants @ Eagles: Giants (With all of the problems on the o-line I think the Giants will get to Vick and pressure him all night long. Plus Hakeem Nicks returning gives Eli another weapon in his arsenal. I hope I'm wrong though, and the Eagles cut back on the turnovers. I'm thinking it'll be a close game, no blowouts on either side. They'll be hard to beat but the Eagles usually play the Giants well, at least as of late.
Bears @ Cowboys: Bears (Could go either way, but since there's some chemistry issues with Chicago, the Cowboys might beat them. If the issues are worked out on offense and Cutler scores some, the D might hold that lead. Little iffy on this one.)
