After trading away Ken Kamei for a catching prospect and some points, the Samurais have called up third baseman, Masahiro Kida.

Masahiro Kida - 3B
AGE, 2ND POSTION, B/T, TRJ, CON, POW, RUN, ARM, FLD, E RES
20, N/A, R/R, 2, B, D, B, B, C, C
Bio: Known for his ability to get on base, he isn't one to shy away from a tough pitcher. Kida can hit to all fields, and always finishes up near the top of the league in doubles. Also, he's got pretty good speed, and a pretty good glove.
Personality: Always peppy.

Greaaaat.

Following in the footsteps of the Samurais, the Dragons have finally called up their amazing second baseman, Izumi Mutoh. It shouldn't effect us much, but he is one hell of a good player.

Izumi Mutoh - 2B
AGE, 2ND POSTION, B/T, TRJ, CON, POW, RUN, ARM, FLD, E RES
20, N/A, L/R, 3, B, B, C, B, C, B
Bio: Mutoh took off two years of baseball, his 1st and 2nd years in high school, but he came back in his last year and showed all his power. Originally signed by the Dragons 2 years ago, he is just now deemed ready for play up in the NPB.
Personality: Very Kura-esque

If we're to meet the Dragons anytime soon, he should prove to be a thorn in my side.

Also, the Giants have made a trade with the Marines, sending over our former player, Kiyoshi Atori, in exchange for 24,000 points.

We'll be seeing Atori again soon, I'm sure.

Oda Hits Walkoff!

Image – Koyato Oda

Blue Stadium, Sakyō-ku, Kyoto – Well, now, last night’s game was quite the game. Hiyama was throwing a perfect game up until the 7th inning, with 2 outs, he let up a single to Nakajima. “I came close, sure. But I’m just glad that I did well, I think that I may finally be coming out of my huge slump.” He said.

It’s true too, since his ERA went down from 4.05 to a nice 3.23 after the game. Since all of the pitchers have been struggling more than usual, it’s nice to see someone doing well for once!

Hiyama wasn’t the only pitcher doing well, as Hirano threw 8 shutout innings of his own. It was all the Lions’ closer, Taiyo Fujita’s, doing that led to the Knights win.

No runs would even come around until the 8th inning, where an Abe sac fly after a Takamiya triple would result in the Lions first run. In the ninth, the Lions would add on another run with a solo homerun by the ninth hitter, Hideto Asamura. At this point, I, along with many others I’m sure, thought “it’s over.”

But, the next half of the inning proved us wrong. After two quick outs, the surging Kura hit a single, and then, Kanazawa, on the first pitch of his at bat, a very low changeup that he turned on, and smashed into the concessions over the left field wall. The game was tied!

On to extra’s, where the Lions would have Takasaki on third after a 2 out triple. Makida came in, who has really been struggling, and got Sakata to popout to Oda at second.

Then, second pitch of the bottom of the tenth, Oda cranked a homerun to right center. A walkoff and the Knights won 3-2!

Also, the players of June have been announced, both of which were Knights, Fukuchi won player of the month batting .330 with 9 homeruns and 28 RBI, Shen won pitcher of the month, with 5 wins and a 3.21 ERA!

The All-Star games start tomorrow, so, like usual, I'll be going over how the first half's been treating everyone!

Knights who've made the team:
Koyato Oda, starting second baseman, batting leadoff
Taiga Kura, starting shortstop, batting second
Masato Kurihara, starting first baseman, batting cleanup
Takuya Kanazawa, starting DH, batting sixth
Kazuya Fujita, starting pitcher
Skutarou Makida
Jian Shen (?)

Fielders:

([#] = last year at this point)

Yoshiro Ushida - LF, #15
AGE, 2ND POSTION, B/T, TRJ, CON, POW, RUN, ARM, FLD, E RES
21, OF/2B, S/R, A, D, A, C, C, C
AVG: .355 [.333]
HR: 12 [2]
RBI: 50 [7]
Last season at this point, Ushida had just joined the team, so his stats weren't where they were supposed to be. But, this season, he's really proved himself to be an excellent leadoff man, he's taken over the role quite well. So far, he's shown that he can do pretty much anything, he can steal bases, he can hit, he can drive in runs. He's everything you can ask for in a leadoff guy.

Taiga Kura - SS, #1
AGE, 2ND POSTION, B/T, TRJ, CON, POW, RUN, ARM, FLD, E RES
20, N/A, L/R, B, C, C, B, C, D
AVG: .348 [.342]
HR: 15 [14]
RBI: 73 [59]
He's just recently moved into the second spot in the lineup, and he's proved himself to be very valuable up there. Previously, he batted behind Kurihara, so his RBIs probably took a hit from that. But, with the move, he's increased everything, really. Also, His fielding is starting to improve, which was a concern when he was first signed.

Takuya Kanazawa - 1B/DH, #49
AGE, 2ND POSTION, B/T, TRJ, CON, POW, RUN, ARM, FLD, E RES
21, N/A, R/R, 4, C, A, D, E, E, E
AVG: .323 [.320]
HR: 32 [32]
RBI: 76 [86]
Other than RBIs, he's pretty much the same as he was last season, excellent.

Masato Kurihara - 1B, #34
AGE, 2ND POSTION, B/T, TRJ, CON, POW, RUN, ARM, FLD, E RES
20, C, R/R, 4, C, S, A, C, D, C
AVG: .324 [.364]
HR: 46 [52]
RBI: 103 [122]
Oh, Kurihara. He's currently in the worst season of his career. But, think about it. His stats right now are godly, STILL, and this is the worst he's done in his short career.

Koyato Oda - 2B, #3
AGE, 2ND POSTION, B/T, TRJ, CON, POW, RUN, ARM, FLD, E RES
20, SS, L/R, 3, A, C, B, C, D, D
AVG: .341 [.334]
HR: 9 [9]
RBI: 63 [50]
He and Kura have swapped places in the lineup, at first due to his horrendous slump in April and May. But, he's really starting to come around, and has brought his average up a LOT in the past couple of months.

Daisuke Fukuchi - 3B, #5
AGE, 2ND POSTION, B/T, TRJ, CON, POW, RUN, ARM, FLD, E RES
20, N/A, S/R, 3, C, D, C, B, B, B
AVG: .301 [.291]
HR: 18 [15]
RBI: 76 [49]
Now, this is a pleasant surprise. Fukuchi, who hasn't really lived up to expectations, is doing exceedingly well this year! Batting over .300 for the first time, and also, he has been a key contributor to many wins.

Aktiaka Shimozono - C, #53
AGE, 2ND POSTION, B/T, TRJ, CON, POW, RUN, ARM, FLD, E RES
21, 1B/RF, L/R, 2, D, D, B, A, B, E
AVG: .291 [.337]
HR: 5 [2]
RBI: 46 [33]
He isn't doing as well as he normally is, but more in line with what was expected of him. The power this season is up from last, but, his average is down by a whopping 46 points. Ouch.

Tusyohi Matsunaga - CF, #41
AGE, 2ND POSTION, B/T, TRJ, CON, POW, RUN, ARM, FLD, E RES
20, OF, L/L, 3, C, C, A, D, D, D
AVG: .271 [.311]
HR: 4 [4]
RBI: 32 [36]
He's taken a big fall. Moving all the way down from the leadoff spot to batting eighth. Just like usual, he's gotten off to a slow start, we'll have to see what the second half will bring for him.

Mitsuo Reiza - RF, #44
AGE, 2ND POSTION, B/T, TRJ, CON, POW, RUN, ARM, FLD, E RES
21, OF, L/L, 2, A, F, A, A, D, D
AVG: .296
HR: 2
RBI: 42
Currently in his rookie season, and he's doing quite well, actually. He has amassed a walkoff single, along with some other clutch hits. He is a fine addition to the team, and his arm is something to be feared.

Rikiya Terauchi - C, #52
AGE, 2ND POSTION, B/T, TRJ, CON, POW, RUN, ARM, FLD, E RES
20, N/A, S/R, 2, C, C, D, A, A, A
AVG: .286 [.250]
HR: 0 [4]
RBI: 2 [18]
His role of starting catcher has been taken away, and he is now back on the bench, serving primarily as a defensive replacement. Though, his hitting is starting to really improve.

Hideo Nomoto - 2B, #4
AGE, 2ND POSTION, B/T, TRJ, CON, POW, RUN, ARM, FLD, E RES
31, N/A, R/R, 2, D, E, D, B, B, B
AVG: .000 [.200]
HR: 0 [0]
RBI: 0 [0]
He is still like the bench coach.

Shun Tohno - 2B, #76
AGE, 2ND POSTION, B/T, TRJ, CON, POW, RUN, ARM, FLD, E RES
21, 1B, L/R, 3, C, B, E, E, D, E
AVG: .235 [.667]
HR: 0 [1]
RBI: 0 [2]
He hasn't played much.

Takumi Nakahigashi - SS, #20
AGE, 2ND POSTION, B/T, TRJ, CON, POW, RUN, ARM, FLD, E RES
31, 2B/3B, L/R, 1, E, F, F, B, A, B
AVG: .000 [.364]
HR: 0 [0]
RBI: 0 [0]
Meh.

Goro Shigeno - LF, #56
AGE, 2ND POSTION, B/T, TRJ, CON, POW, RUN, ARM, FLD, E RES
36, OF, R/R, 3, C, C, C, B, C, D
AVG: .293 [.264]
HR: 1 [6]
RBI: 15 [39]
Age has really caught up to him, he's content with what his role is now, but, really, he's disappointed in himself.

Ryouya Miyaki - RF, #45
AGE, 2ND POSTION, B/T, TRJ, CON, POW, RUN, ARM, FLD, E RES
29, OF, R/R, 2, D, E, D, B, D, C
AVG: .375 [.266]
HR: 0 [1]
RBI: 2 [7]
He's working on his run speed, if he can get that up, he'll become a very useful asset to the bench.

Iruma Kusaguchi - LF, #65
AGE, 2ND POSTION, B/T, TRJ, CON, POW, RUN, ARM, FLD, E RES
24, N/A, R/R, 2, E, D, C, D, E, E
AVG: .000
HR: 0
RBI: 0
He hasn't played yet...

Pitchers in the next update!

Pitchers:

([#] = last year at this point)

Ataru Hiyama #11
AGE, B/T, TOP SPD, CON, STAM, PITCHES
21, R/R, 155 km/h (96 mph), B, A, 2-seam, slider - 1, sinker - 1 V-slider - 3
ERA: 3.26 [3.31]
W-L: 8-3 [11-4]
IP: 124 1/3 [127 2/3]
K: 112 [89]
At the beginning of the season, Hiyama was doing incredibly poorly, but, as of late, he's been very dominant. He's drawn comparison to the great Yu Darvish.

Hiroshi Shima #16
AGE, B/T, TOP SPD, CON, STAM, PITCHES
20, L/L, 153 km/h (95 mph), E, B, slider - 1, changeup - 1, sinker - 2
ERA: 3.73 [3.86]
W-L: 10-4 [7-3]
IP: 132 2/3 [112]
K: 79 [52]
Compared to last season, he's doing much better. Also, he spent some time as the ace, though has since been moved to the second spot in the rotation.

Kazuya Fujita #18
AGE, B/T, TOP SPD, CON, STAM, PITCHES
20, L/L, 152 km/h (94 mph), D, A, slider - 4, palmball - 1
ERA: 3.95 [2.73]
W-L: 10-4 [13-1]
IP: 141 1/3 [131 2/3]
K: 118 [88]
He isn't doing as well as he did in his rookie year last year, but, he's really starting to come around. Hopefully he'll be able to work things out in the second half. Despite his troubles, he's the first All-Star game's starting pitcher!

Jian Shen #17
AGE, B/T, TOP SPD, CON, STAM, PITCHES
20, R/R, 157 km/h (98 mph), C, B, changeup - 4, drop curve - 3
ERA: 4.24
W-L: 13-3
IP: 136
K: 107
He is currently the wins leader on the team with 13, and also has the fastest fastball. He really brings the heat, but is kind of struggling this season.

Tsukiya Yamato #8
AGE, B/T, TOP SPD, CON, STAM, PITCHES
22, R/R, 152 km/h (94 mph), C, B, hard slider - 5, SFF - 5
ERA: 4.16 [4.07]
W-L: 11-2 [10-5]
IP: 134 [139 1/3]
K: 111 [119]
He has the least amount of innings pitched for starters as of right now, and still hasn't really got it all together. This former ace has really been struggling up in the NPB.

Yoshio Fujii #91
AGE, B/T, TOP SPD, CON, STAM, PITCHES
21, R/R, 142 km/h (88 mph), E, D, hard sinker - 2, slow curve - 2, shuuto - 3
ERA: 1.66 [2.31]
W-L: 2-0 [4-1]
IP: 21 2/3 [23 1/3]
K: 8 [12]
S: 3 [2]
He's doing just as well as he always has been. Still surprising me to this day!

Ryan Techer #13
AGE, B/T, TOP SPD, CON, STAM, PITCHES
32, R/R, 143 km/h (89 mph), D, C, 2-seam, slow curve - 2, knuckleball - 1
ERA: 4.50 [2.41]
W-L: 3-1 [3-0]
IP: 22 [37 1/3]
K: 12 [20]
S: 1 [0]
His ERA is so high because of his spot start where he allowed 5 runs, but, other than that, he's actually doing fairly well!

Kan Uchino #14
AGE, B/T, TOP SPD, CON, STAM, PITCHES
28, L/R, 151 km/h (94 mph), E, C, sinker - 3, curveball - 1
ERA: 3.86
W-L: 1-1
IP: 14
K: 9
He's been a valuable middle reliever, he's doing his job adequately.

Yoshifumi Muranaka #12
AGE, B/T, TOP SPD, CON, STAM, PITCHES
24, L/L, 151 km/h (94 mph), C, E, knuckle curve - 4, circle change - 2
ERA: 4.96 [5.79]
W-L: 2-2 [2-0]
IP: 16 1/3 [23 1/3]
K: 8 [15]
He's doing better than last season, but still not that well.

Jun Ohtonari #48
AGE, B/T, TOP SPD, CON, STAM, PITCHES
21, R/R, 151 km/h (94 mph), C, C, slider - 2, curveball - 7
ERA: 5.32 [5.30]
W-L: 1-0 [1-2]
IP: 22 [35 2/3]
K: 15 [29]
Not doing so well.

Naohiko Kikuchi #21
AGE, B/T, TOP SPD, CON, STAM, PITCHES
20, R/L, 154 km/h (96 mph), B, D, slow curve - 3, changeup - 3
ERA: 0.48
W-L: 1-0
IP: 18 2/3
K: 10
This rookie has proved his worth to set up Makida. So far, he's been the most productive and efficient pitcher in the bullpen, and he's the newest member of it.

Sakutarou Makida #19
AGE, B/T, TOP SPD, CON, STAM, PITCHES
21, L/L, 151 km/h (94 mph), E, E, knuckle curve - 1, V-slider - 4
ERA: 3.66 [0.52]
W-L: 1-3 [0-0]
IP: 19 2/3 [17 1/3]
K: 15 [17]
S: 13 [17]
He's fallen into a slump, but, he's looking to come out of it soon. His attitude is still just as optimistic as ever, and his command seems to finally be coming back.

Since I don't feel like going over the All-Star games, I'll just post the scores.

[Note: The Knights are in the Pacific League]

Game 1
July 18, 2016

Pacific League - 5
Central League - 13
Yikes.

Game 2
July 19, 2016

Pacific League - 3
Central League - 4

Game 3
July 20, 2016

Central League - 4
Pacific League - 9

We went 1-2, not great.

We were outscored 21-18, not bad. Though, half of our runs came in the last game...

Judging by your post I'm assuming the 2SFB is unlike the Wii/PS2 and like the DS version, in that it does not have a level attached to it?

Ah, the one-seamer like Strasburg's.

I have a question.

How did you get the full name (KNIGHTS verus just K) on the uniforms, so I'll know whenever I get 2012?
