On the bright side, those two players are very modest in real life. So there will be no bragging *coughAnthonycough*

Construction Manager: Mr. Carson, we finally finished up the field. According to us, your budget was about $4,000,000. After we finished the basics, we upgraded the seating. The current capacity is 25,000. The left and right field fences are a tad bigger than the center field fence. The walls are padded and Dark Green. The infield grass is in a diamond cut and the dirt outlining the field is made of dirt. The EA Sports logo is right behind the batters box.

Alexander: Well that's great. Can I see some pictures of it?

Construction Manager: Of course Mr. Carson. Here

*hands pictures*

Alexander: Well this looks fantastic. Thank you and your crew. You'll all be getting the remainder of your paychecks by the end of the week.

Nice! I can't wait for it to be upgraded into a state of the art field! :D

I wish I had a PS2...don't know if my older cousins play on it anymore (they have either MVP 04 or 05, but the game still has the Expos in it), but we only have one TV in our house, and it would be decently hard to re-hook up the Wii if I get it. I'm just rambling from there.

You know they made this game for Gamecube, right? The Wii is designed to play Gamecube games. Hence, you need the game, a Gamecube memory card, and a Gamecube controller.

Quick question. Is there a success mode-type thing in there?

Why would there be? I don't even think there's a career mode.

Just wondering how he got Takahashi. Maybe he made him? I remember there was a create-a-player section on '04 where you just made them.

Halladay, Devil Rays take Season Opener
April 5th, 2005 (date of newspaper, not game)

Yesterday, GM Alexander Carson got to see his new plan to make the Devil Rays a contender go into action.

"It was a great thing to see," said Carson. "After spending working for several months, we got some pieces that we thought fit. They had an impact and I think they're going to be here a long time."

Yesterday was not only Opening Day for the Devil Rays, it was also the opening of their brand new stadium, Sun Drop Stadium. Sun Drop can only hold a measly 25,000 fans. There are no seats in the outfield, which is a downer. There is also only one concession stand, a soda vendor. The field is placed near the city of Tampa Bay.

"I know that the stadium is very small, but it's part of the process," said Carson. "I wasn't given a lot of money to build this field but over time I will develop it into one of the best ballparks you have ever seen."

Even with it's limited appeal, they got fans into the ballpark and with some good tactics. Throwing out the ceremonial first pitch was Wade Boggs, who collected his 3,00th hit as Devil Ray. He also signed autographs for about 30 minutes. With the amount of fans that were at the game, that was almost every fan!

After the pre-game festivities, it was time to see the new Devil Rays. The first thing that fans would get to see is star Roy Halladay, aquired for slugger Aubrey Huff in a blockbuster trade. This wasn't only Halladay's first start for the Devil Rays, but it was his first start against his former team. Things didn't go for Halladay in the first couple of innings. The first batter Halladay faced got on with a base hit, clearly not a good start to a ball game no matter who you play for. The next batter would follow up with a base hit. Huff would come up next in his first at bat with his new team and hit a grounder to Cantu at third. He went for the tag at third, but missed the bag. He threw to first and got Huff, but the situation would now be second and third. The next batter would ground out scoring one. Then with two outs, the next batter hit a two out RBI single to make the Blue Jays lead 2-0 going into the top of the first.

The Devil Rays didn't give up after half an inning as it would seem. Baldelli got a one out knock, setting the table for Heido Takahashi, their newly acquired star from Japan. He roped a double into the gap, scoring Baldelli and cutting the deficit to 1. After Machado grounded out, Josh Phelps hit a two out RBI single, Takahashi just beating the throw from the outfielder, tying the score up at two apiece.

Halladay and Bush went through scoreless seconds when in the top of the third Alex Rios hit a line drive homer to left field giving the Blue Jays a 3-2 lead. The innings wouldn't get any easier for Halladay. In the top of a fifth he got out of a runner on first and third with one out situation by getting Rios to line out and Huff to strike out.

In the bottom of the inning, Hallady would get some help from his offense. B.J. Upton started off the inning with a leadoff bunt single. He then proceeded to swipe second, beating the throw by a split-second. The next batter was Lugo, who got him over to third on a groundout. The next batter was catcher, Toby Hall. With a 1-1 count Hall blasted a homer over the left field fence to give the Devil Rays a 4-3 lead.

After the homer, Halladay settled into a pitching groove allowing no runs for the rest of the game. In the top of the 8th, Hallady left a runner on first for the Devil Rays closer Carter. He got the easy groundout to end the eighth then shut the Blue Jays down in the ninth to preserve a Devil Rays victory.

Devil Rays Take Game 2 Behind Strong Debut

It may be early in the season, but the AL East just might have another contender in the East: The Tampa Bay Devil Rays. And they may have proved that tonight.

The scoring in this game started of early when young player Josh Phelps blasted a solo homer over the left field fence to give the Devil Rays a 1-0 lead. The Devil Rays would tack on two more in the Bottom of the 8th, but the homer in the 2nd was all that was needed.

Zack Grenkie absolutely dominated the Blue Jays. When he was in trouble he worked out of jams, such as the top of the third when he worked out of a 1st and 2nd no out situation. This was the only real chance the Blue Jays had. Grenkie dished out zero after zero after zero until the 9th when he recorded the final out to make the Devil Rays 2-0 on the season.

Crawford 1-4, 1 R
Baldelli 1-3
Takahashi 1-4, 2 RBI
Phelps 1-4, 1 HR
Gathright 1-4
Cantu 0-3
Upton 2-3
Lugo 1-3
Hall 1-3, 1 R

Grenkie - 9 IP, 4 H, 8 K's, 0 BB

Devil Rays Power Their Way To a Sweep

The Devil Rays have beaten the Toronto Blue Jays for the third consecutive day, but unlike today they straight up rubbed it in their faces. Taking the mound for today's game was Scott Kasmir, one of the Devil Rays exceptional pitchers before getting Halladay and Grenkie. He would be facing Miguel Bautista, a hard throwing veteran who struggled last year posting an ERA above 4.

The Devil Rays jumped on Bautista in the first inning when Takahashi lined a single into center. Takahashi then stole second base, leading to a bloop RBI double for Center Fielder Rocco Baldelli. C.C. Carl Crawford would pop out to deep right allowing Baldelli to tag and move up to third. The next batter, slugger Josh Phelps hit a ground out, allowing Baldelli to score and giving the Devil Rays an early two to nothing lead.

The Devil Rays would continue to jump on Bautista early. In the second, young shortstop B.J. Upton lined a homer over the short right field fence adding onto the lead even more. Then in the next inning, after a Rocco Baldelli single, Carl Crawford blasted a two run homer giving them a five nothing lead.

From then on it was all Kasmir. He kept cleaning up the Blue Jays inning after inning, rarely giving up so much as a runner. He took a five to nothing lead into the ninth, where he finished the game and recorded his first win of the season and the first sweep.

W - Kasmir
L - M. Bautista

Takahashi 1-3, 1 R
Baldelli 3-4, 2 R, 2 RBI
