It's to learn more about each other's home town teams. You don't have to participate in it. It's just to get more information and know about how every team's hometown fans are thinking.

Whenever you see a team win or lose on MLB Network or Baseball Tonight you sometimes don't get all the information. This is so that we cal hear different sides from a team's fan

Yeah. I predict they will get better, though.

Yeah. Do you think I haven't noticed that already? I said they would get better this season, like out of last place.

Well, it hasn't been a great first half for the Tigers. There was a load of hype going into the season, with the acquisitions of Prince Fielder and, to a lesser extent, Octavio Dotel. We're currently sitting on 39-41, but thanks to the AL Central being the worst division in the MLB, we're only 3.5 games out of first. We haven't been .500 since May 15th (18-18), and I can think of three times, including yesterday, where we were one win away, but we just can't seem to get there. It's starting to get really frustrating, as we just cannot string more than two wins together at a time. I almost wish we were farther out of first place than we are, because something needs to get them playing harder than they are.

The reasons we have 39 wins:
1B Prince Fielder - .300, 12 HR, 53 RBI - You know him (especially you, Brewers :P) so I won't go into much detail. He's doing exactly what we signed him to do.

3B Miguel Cabrera - .321, 16 HR, 65 RBI - I know you're all very aware of Miggy as well. He's having another great year, and has defensively adapted to third base quite well.

CF Austin Jackson - .322, 8 HR, 16 2B, 3 3B, .404 OBP - I'm not sure what fans of other teams know about A-Jax, since he's not exactly a superstar, but he's a great player. He currently has a higher OPS than Miguel Cabrera and is an outstanding fielder. He was one of the players we got in the Curtis Granderson trade, and at this point, I'd much rather have Jackson. It's also worth mentioning that last year, he batted just .249 and struck out 181 times.

OF Quintin Berry - .295, .385 OBP 12 SB, 37 games played - Berry was called up as a fill-in when Austin Jackson got hurt in June, but he's been playing great and has earned himself a permanent spot on the roster after 7 years of minor league ball. He's leading the team in steals in less than half of the team's games.

SP Justin Verlander - 8-5, 2.69 ERA - Duh.

RP Joaquin Benoit - 2.19 ERA, 19 HLD - Our set-up man who is excellent at holding the opposition so Jose Valverde can blow it in the 9th.

RP Brayan Villarreal - 26 IP, 39 K, 1.38 ERA - I don't know where this guy came from, but I'm thankful for him.

The reasons we have 41 losses:
SS Jhonny Peralta - .257, 4 HR, 24 RBI - Disappointing average, disappointing power (Last year: .299, 21 HR). Next.

C Alex Avila - .253, 5 HR, 23 RBI - Has been injured a couple times, and I'll let him blame that for the lack of production. For now.

LF Brennan Boesch - .231, 7 HR, 27 RBI - Voted most likely to hit into two double plays in the same inning.

2B Ryan Raburn - .178, 1 HR, 9 RBI - Boooo

SP Doug Fister - 1-6, 4.61 ERA - Our #2 guy, he got injured in his first start and hasn't been the same since.

SP Max Scherzer - 7-5, 4.98 ERA, 90.1 IP, 114 K - For a guy competing with Verlander for the strikeout crown, you'd think he'd have a better ERA.

CP Jose Valverdede - 15 SV, 3 BSV, 3.66 ERA - With his recent play, he almost made it off this list. Almost.

3B Brandon Inge - Sorry, force of habit.

It's a bit different for the Red Sox

Reasons we have 42 wins: Ortiz, Salty, Middlebrooks, Atchison, and Morales
Reasons we have 38 losses: Everyone else...

Reasons we have 50 wins

Josh Hamilton (duh), Matt Harrison (not duh), Yu Darvish (duh), Mark Lowe (not duh), Joe Nathan (duh), Craig Gentry (not duh)

Reasons we've actually lost games

Injuries. And Tateyama.

I still find it funny how everyone was willing to throw Hamiltion every award (even the Cy Young :P) after his one amazing week

I think Gentry actually has a higher average than Hamilton...

Tateyama has thrown less than 10 innings in the Majors this season. Surely he is not to blame.
