The Marlins held the Wolves to just 2 hits as Nate Robertson pitched a complete game- including 6 2/3 perfect innings to start the game- and Carlos Beltran and Joe Crede were both 3-for-4 with an RBI. There really wasn't much good to say about the Wolves. In the second inning, Zack Hooper led off by hitting a grounder to short. On the throw over, he dove head-first, and injured his hand. He was cleared to play but Matt Downs immediately replaced him in the lineup.

After the game the weekly MVPs were announced. The NL MVPs were Brewers catcher Bengie Molina (.556, 4 HR, 11 RBI) and Wolves pitcher Ryan Techer (1-0, 0.00 ERA, 14 K)!

The Wolves also signed starter Anthony Lerew and pitcher Randy Wells to contracts. Lerew will start tomorrow and Wells will join the Durham bullpen.

The Phillies beat the Wolves on a walk-off single by Great Soria. Soria was named MVP after going 1-5 with 3 strikeouts. The Wolves did make it a close game, however. Starter Anthony Lerew kept the Wolves in it through 6 shutout innings, but the bullpen allowed 5 runs in 3 1/3 innings. Outfielder Ronald Guzman recorded his first MLB hit with a homer and Ryan Hanigan followed to make the score 2-0. David Freese later hit his own solo shot, a blast that traveled 488 feet to left-center of Dallas Braden. First baseman Zack Hooper was injured again diving into third, and Ground Chuck pinch-ran for him and stayed in the game at first.
