I'd be okay with that. Get on my season log and post when you're ready.

I decided to practice my control mainly, it was OK but still needed work. I ended up throwing over 100 pitches in a 30-minute span, so I probably increased my stamina. After practice I went home as usual.

CHOOSE WISELY!
A. Practice (same as before, TOP SPD/CTRL/STAM/BRK)
B. Rest
C. Do extra credit assignments
D. Throw a party

-------------------------------------

Control increased by 2!
Stamina increased by 2!

I rested up for the day ahead. I woke up in the morning and felt awake for the first time all week. I went through my normal routine and went to school. Each class was the same as it had been- reviewing past concepts with maybe a bit of new stuff. I went downstairs and changed. I went out to the practice field and started playing catch with Matt. We threw for a while then Coach came out. He told us we had a game on Monday so we needed to prepare. He told Matt and I we would be competing in a control competition.

CHOOSE WISELY!
A. Fastballs only
B. Curves only
C. Mix it up
D. Scream, "I want my mommy!" at the top of your lungs and run away.

I decided to mix up my pitches, I needed to be able to control both of them. Matt went first and scored a "24". I went up and got 17 points on my first 7 pitches. I threw a fastball that hit the corner. 5 points! I threw a curve that was just outside. Coach gave me 2 points. I needed a strike so I carefully placed a fastball inside. It was a good pitch and Coach gave me 3 points. I won! I went over to Matt, high-fived him, and told him, "Good luck!" Coach dismissed us and I went home.

CHOOSE WISELY!
A. Practice by yourself (Usual choices)
B. Practice with someone (Choose a teammate!)
C. Rest
D. General workout
E. Play MLB Power Pros 2012!
F. Crank call everyone you know
G. Listen to music
H. Study
I. Eat out of boredom

I like real baseball, but nothing is quite like playing a game or two of MLB Power Pros 2012. I turned on my Wii and inserted the disc. It loaded and I got to the main menu. I selected "Exhibition" then chose to be the Tigers against the Dodgers. The matchup was Verlander vs. Kershaw and the pitchers both held the game scoreless for 8 innings. In the top of the 9th Matt Kemp hit a double but I struck out Ethier and Loney. With 2 outs, A.J. Ellis came up and hit a fly ball to left. Delmon Young settled under the ball but dropped it! Kemp scored and Ellis made it to third. Verlander was getting tired (103 pitches) and I brought in Octavio Dotel to face Adam Kennedy. The at-bat got to a 2-2 count after Dotel threw 4 fastballs.

CHOOSE WISELY!

A. 4SFB
B. Cutter (level 3)
C. Slider (level 3)
D. Pickoff attempt to third
E. Bring in Phil Coke
F. Grab the Wii and smash it to bits

I have Algebra in room 216. Not with Mrs. Williams, though. My actual math teacher happens to be a nerdy baseball fan, just like me!...I'm interrupting again... ...sorry.

I hit some buttons and Dotel threw a slider low and away. Kennedy whiffed completely and the inning was over. Due up for me was the trio of Fielder, Young, and Avila. Fielder led off and hit a double. Young hit a fly to deep right but Ethier caught it. Fielder did advance to 3rd however. Avila came up and worked the count to 2-1.

CHOOSE WISELY!

A. Suicide squeeze
B. Swing for the fences
C. Pinch hit Don Kelly
D. Pinch hit Rick Porcello
E. Swing for contact
F. Hit "fast play"

Matt went first and topped out at 84.27 mph. I threw all fastballs, some harder than others. My first 18 pitches maxed at around 81 mph. I then tossed a slow curve that hit about 50 on the radar gun. I wound up and fired a heater as hard as I could. Coach looked at the radar gun, back at us, and yelled: "84 point two...EIGHT! Techer wins!" A bunch of teammates ran over and congratulated me. Evan and Connor even gave me their votes! I went home after practice and rested. The next day was the same except Matt and I's practice was a stamina competition. "Simply put, most pitches wins," Coach said. Matt went first and threw 84 pitches before tiring out. Then it was my turn.
