Why is it so bad? I was going to ask for it for my birthday in June.

im debating on buying mlb 12 the show and decided to come to the experts about mlb games so anyway anyone here have the game? if you do whats your thoughts on it?

The fielding is less player controlled than previous games, and the hitting is more based on luck, much more than previous years.

Diamond Dynasty was also unplayable for a few times, but got fixed to be working perfectly as early as a few hours ago.

I have to say, all this playing MLB '12 The Show makes me want to play MLB Power Pros, apart from the graphics it's a much more realistic baseball game, and just plain better all-around.

As I was typing this, I was actually considering going down and continuing one of my Power Pros logs for a little bit, but then I remembered nothing downstairs is even plugged in at the moment, and won't be for a while.

Is The Show worth getting this year?

I enjoy the show a lot, but it certainly has its flaws. Online is, in a word, awful. Diamond Dynasty would be heaven for me if my online play worked properly. Coming from someone who's last MLB game was MLB Power Pros 2008, this game is much more realistic. Its commentra is an upgrade from Good 'Ol Jack , but is still repetitive, I hear the same lines every game. Franchise is deep, maybe too deep in some places (I don't care if a no-name AA player bruised his hand. I don't care the fans think my hot tub prices are too high etc.). Road to the Show is awesome.

Gameplay is hard, even on the lower difficulties. But its not unfair. You can hit the ball on the nose in real life and groundout often. It just happens so much its frustrating. Pitching is fun with pulse pitching, but its also realistic. If you hang a slider, expect to get burned.

I can't compare it to last year, but I'm having a lot of fun playing it, though it is easy to rip of the CPU for top prospects in trades (I do this to the Braves ALOT). 8.5/10

I would say it isn't worth getting if you have The Show from '11, or even '10, unless you want to play Diamond Dynasty really badly, it's really the only thing added in the last few years. As far as gameplay goes, taking graphics out of consideration, games from the Power Pros series are way more realistic as baseball simulation games, and unlike this year's edition of The Show, it also has the option to just turn the difficulty down and destroy the CPU whenever you want.

I just started a Success Mode on 2008 with Robbie Ross (LHP, Rangers). My starting abilities:

Top Speed- 80mph
Control- E 118
Stamina- F 25

He's not a starter is he? Because it'll be hard to get that stamina up.

He's a reliever, and I already got a level 2 H-SLD and E (51) stamina!

So, just to be sure, nobody else here has any knowledge or interest in hockey at any level, right?

I do! I know a little about hockey, along with baseball, football, and basketball, are the only sports I watch/care/know about.

I really only follow the Flyers carefully. I'm a hockey fan, but I'm not a big stats guy like in the other sports.
