First Event

Summary

A frat member asks you if you want to join the Pi Pi Pi frat. You MUST respond with a YES Fate Card or it will be impossible to ever meet Sarah. The frat brother then tells you that you must go into the girls' dormitory and steal a trophy if you want to join. You and Marvin decide to split up.

Being the gentleman that you are, you figure it would be much easier to simply explain the situation to somebody. You stop Sarah and explain to her that you need a trophy as you are a thief. You get to talking and she tells you that she's a photographer and you explain that you're a baseball player who's aiming for the majors. She's thrilled at this as she needs a subject for a sports photo contest and apparently you're it! She gives you a photo to keep as a trophy and immediately afterwards Marvin gets caught by another girl trying to steal something. It sounds like he's in big trouble so you need to go.

The Pi Pi Pi brother doesn't like the trophies that you brought him and tells you to forget you ever met him. Robert later explains that the frat doesn't even exist! He was just tricking you to get you into trouble.

Second Event

Summary

Sarah comes to practice to take pictures of you. Becky gets angry at her and tells her not to come onto the field. Sarah then explains that she has to as her camera doesn't have a zoom. They fight and Sarah eventually leaves. You then talk to Sarah alone and explain that Becky has always been that way. Sarah thinks Becky may have a thing for you since she got so mad but you emphatically tell her that's not the case. She takes your photo and you're both happy campers.

Third Event

Summary

Sarah comes to your dorm and tells you that today is the big day for the sports photo contest. You go to the contest and see that the photo received an honorable mention. You think that's great, but Sarah is extremely disappointed. She wanted first prize and asks you if you think it's good enough. You pretty well have to answer this question with a Challenge card. It won't necessarily be the end of the world if you answer with a different one but you're making life difficult for yourself.

After using a Challenge card, you confront the judges and ask why the photo didn't receive first prize. The judge believes that Sarah used post processing to correct the photo so he deducted points. When Sarah tells him she didn't use any and that the camera she took it with is simply amazing the judge doesn't believe her. He then tells her that she's more proud of the camera than she is of her photographer skills. She says that's true and runs off crying.

Fourth Event

Summary

Sarah comes and visits you in your dorm. She apologizes for the way she acted at the contest. She explains that her father invented the camera so she really wanted to win first prize with it. You tell her that's really amazing. She asks if she can visit you again and you agree without hesitation.

Fifth Event

Summary

Sarah visits you in your dorm again. This time she invites you out for lunch. She takes you to her house to eat which means her father is there! While talking with her father you ask him about the camera he invented. He boasts about how amazing it is and that it's called a Spherical Lens Element Camera. He talks about how he's shopping it around to various companies but he's holding out for 10 million dollars. The camera took him his entire life to invent and because of that they've been living in debt for a long time. It obviously put stress on his relationship with his wife because she left them. Now that it's finished he bought a new house with a swimming pool in anticipation of the money. You comment to Sarah that her family is rich and she tells you that they're not rich yet and she's worried because the camera didn't win first prize.

Sixth Event

Summary

Sarah comes to your dorm and you ask her what's the matter. She says that her father is in trouble and she needs your help! A gangster is talking with Sarah's father. He tells her father that if he can't even pay the deposit then we have a problem. Her father begs for more time as his invention is the real deal but the gangster wants the down payment or her father will have to sell his house. Sarah enters the scene and her father screams that they're going to lose everything and runs off.

You ask Sarah what happened and she explains to you that her father hasn't been able to sell the patent on the camera yet. Apparently people only want small, light cameras and while the picture quality is great on her father's invention - it's simply too big and you can't make it any smaller. In addition to all of this her father is 300 grand in debt which isn't helping matters.

Seventh Event

Summary

Sarah comes to see you outside of school. You ask her if her father is ok but apparently he's been sulking in his room all day long and sneaks out to go to a part time job at night. He's never had one before but he wants to protect Sarah and the house.

Sarah then tells you that she's going to drop out of school and start working to help her father pay off the debt. You're clearly shocked by this and tell her that it would be a huge waste if they gave up on selling the camera now after all the work they put in. Sarah then says that if the camera could at least win the contest then that would help get it the attention it needs.

You say though that no matter how good the camera is, if it's only a photo of you.... but if you were in the big league! Sarah jumps on this idea. If you were to make it to the big leagues then the camera that took the pictures would be as famous as you are. She asks you if you can make it to the big leagues.

Challenge card is a good option here as you respond with 'No Sweat.' which makes her happy. A YES card will almost certainly be a good option too. I'm not sure what happens if you respond with NO or Marvin although I can't imagine it being good.

After you agree to make it to the majors she says that it's a promise. You make a joke about having a Wedding night and she turns all buttery saying that nobody's ever made comments like that to her before. You then tell her she's extremely cute and she gets even worse thinking you're trying to trick her. Things are getting pretty heated here and you still don't even have her phone number!

You promise Sarah that you'll go to the majors but in return you don't want to hear anything about dropping out of school. Sarah agrees that a part time job would be better.

Eighth Event

Summary

Sarah comes during practice to take more pictures of you. Becky is mildly annoyed by it but much less so than the first time. She mentions that Sarah should stop backing up as she's going to fall into the pond. Oops! Too late! Sarah falls into the pond. Afterwards she is more concerned about the camera than the fact that she's soaking wet. The camera however is fine. Sarah finally gives you her phone number. To think it only took 8 dates!

Ninth Event

Summary

It's Christmas! You initiate this event by calling Sarah on Christmas. Make sure you have her present ready! You simply exchange gifts in this event, nothing too special. She buys you a bunch of different things and you have to pick one. Shuffle Whistle is pretty good as it's obviously difficult to have the right Fate Card ready for her when she needs it.

Tenth Event

Need to Know

• When: Year 2, Week 2, Feb

  • Spend $300 - if you use a Challenge and don't have presents.

Summary

It's Valentine's Day! Sarah really loves those presents! One for Christmas AND Valentine's Day. This is getting expensive! You also need to have either a Yes or Challenge card to give her the present. If you don't have another present for her, choose Challenge. You'll still give her an imaginary present but it'll cost you $300. It's better to choose Yes and select something you bought if possible. Anyways, make sure you see her on Valentine's day as you'll get a Secrets of Pitching book! I recommend using it to get the Lucky, Safe Pitch, or Good Delivery ability since you can't gamble for them or get them from gloves (unlike Dr. K) but that's up to you of course.

Eleventh Event

Summary

It's the last game of the season. Just before the game, Sarah visits you and hopes to take good pictures of you with her camera. You have to play well, if you don't then that may be it for your relationship I'm not 100% sure but it's not good. Win the game and win her heart! After you play well you ask her if she got any good shots. She replies with 'Perfect!' and that she hopes to win top prize in the contest.

Twelfth Event

Need to Know

• When: Year 2, Week 1, June

Summary

You and Sarah go to the contest again. The photo she took of you won second prize. It's good, but not good enough according to you. The judge passes by and says that it's a great photo of her boyfriend. She blushes and says you're just friends but the judge says her affection oozes from the photo! The photo lost points for post processing again though and that's why it's not first place. Sarah argues with him again and says that there was no post processing. The judge asks to see the camera. Sarah shows him the camera and tells him the specs. The judge is impressed and asks why they haven't sold it to camera makers. Sarah explains that they're not interested in large cameras. The judge calls them a bunch of idiots for not liking the camera and says he'll personally go and negotiate with them himself.
