Description
This is a Success Mode starting catcher, for my Custom team, the Charlotte Chargers. This is my second attempt at making a catcher; my now-backup, Raul Hernandez, was supposed to be my starter, but I felt his fielding was not enough. So now he is my switch-hitting backup.
I desperately wanted Boyd to end up with Trash Talk, but despite staynig at the pizza job for all of success mode, I did not get that RE. However, at the last possible moment, when finalizing the character, I bought three surprise bags; one had Secrets of Defense, which gave me Trash Talk!! So with Good Block, Good Catcher, Trash Talk, Gold Glover and Consistency, this character is a perfect catcher. I purposefully left his speed low, and contact as mediocre (D).
Success mode was great - kept Alvin, learned to catch his pitch...went 4 for 4 in my first game year 1, had a 2-homer game in year two, and hit another homer in year 3. I did not even get to face the Champion Rings in either year, and nominated Alvin for captain year 3.
