Translation Notes

Nobi ノビ

Late life on a pitch. Fastball Life 4 is ノビ 4 in the Japanese Power Pros, so I kept the translation consistent with that.--Odawali 01:11, 2 May 2008 (CDT)

Kyusoku 球速

Velocity. I think this refers to the raw speed ie at the point of release. Speed change seems to be governed by the Late Life parameter--Odawali 01:11, 2 May 2008 (CDT)

I'm begining to think Initial Pitch Speed and Pitch Speed Preservation (or Pitch Speed Retainment?) might better explain these two parameters. Comparing the Modification Choices and their effects, that's essentially what they seem to do.--Odawali 02:21, 2 May 2008 (CDT)
Decided on Initial Speed and Speed Retained--Odawali 16:27, 2 May 2008 (CDT)

___Kei 系

"System" is the scientific translation (as in "isolated system" etc) for the standalone term Kei; it's more frequently used after a word to denote family/type.--Odawali 01:11, 2 May 2008 (CDT)

Breaking Ball Directions

The Shuuto and Forkball are the basic breaking ball types for their respective directions in the Japanese versions. I fixed the names of the breaking ball directions to reflect the MLB version (SIFB/CHG).--Odawali 02:13, 2 May 2008 (CDT)

Modification Choice Order

It seems the modification choices are ordered slightly differently from our version; Stronger changeup and better breaking ball are swapped (check what the choices do - stronger changeup should give a bigger speed differential while better breaking ball increases movement). I fixed the values while keeping the order of the choices consistent with what we get in the game.--Odawali 02:13, 2 May 2008 (CDT)

Pitch Speed

I think it's noteworthy that the Kyusoku/Velocity/Initial Pitch Speed parameter is on a -30 to 0 scale. The biggest speed differential between the 4SFB and a breaking ball in this game is about 30km/h. It's quite possible the speed-related values are given in kph on these charts. Also, I've heard the Nobi 4 (FB Life 4) ability visually adds +4km to the fastball in the Japanese game, so the Nobi/Late Life/Speed Retained parameter being on a 0-4 scale seems sort of consistent with that too.--Odawali 16:27, 2 May 2008 (CDT)

New Tables

I've tried re-organizing the parameters by grouping the speed and movement-related ones together. Also put horizontal before vertical as I think we're more used to seeing them in that order (like in x-y coordinates etc).--Odawali 16:27, 2 May 2008 (CDT)
