When're you gonna give Techer another shot? Just wondering.

I was actually going to update with him pitching last night, it was late, and I would barely be able to finish one game.

So I did the lineups, got everything down, started the game up, and noticed that I hadn't changed my lineup accordingly.

Now, that may not sound like much of a problem, but I was going to try some new things out... And yeah... But the update after the next update will be a Techer one. Fer sher.

Knights Handed One of Their Worst Losses Ever

Image – Sugiuchi and Cabrera

Fukuoka Dome, Chūō-ku, Fukuoka – What in the world happened last night in Fukuoka? The Knights got crushed by the third place Hawks, by a score of 9-0. They were held hitless for 4 innings! That is until Kurihara got a single to left, and then Shigeno got a hit as well. That would be it. For the entire game. Yeah. 2 hits. Manager, Kensou Mori, had something to say about this, after the game: “I’m not even sure what happened. Nobody is. We were outplayed. Seriously outplayed. Atori did poorly, the offensive did worse. I… I don’t even know.”

In the game, rookie catcher, Li Ng, hit his first homerun, so congratulations to him! He called an incredible game, which is what he was known for in his homeland of China. He catches battles off-guard, and he doesn’t really have a noticeable calling pattern. This game will hopefully be forgotten…

It Ends With A Tie

Kleenex Stadium Miyagi, Sendai – In a heart-racing game, the Knights end up with their 4th tie of the year. And they could’ve won. In the bottom of the 9th, there were 2 men on, and Chavez was up with one out. He walks after he works to count to full. Shima comes up, and Makida gets him to ground to Nomoto at 2nd. Game ending double play, right? Wrong. Nomoto makes a dive for the ball, but it bounces off of his glove, and everybody is safe. Thus tying the game, expunging Techer’s excellent work, and Makida blowing his attempt for his 24th save of the year. Next pitch, an inning ending double play grounded to Nomoto. One pitch too late.

“I can’t believe I missed that ball. I blew the game. I asked to be removed, but Mori kept me in. I’m awfully sorry about my poor play today…” Nomoto said after the game.
When asked about the play, Makida said “Nope, I don’t blame him! I do think that it was playable, but we all make mistakes. I’ll just have to get my 24th save next time, you know!”

Good to see Makida’s still incredibly happy. Anyways, Techer pitched excellently yesterday, going 8 innings, and letting up only 1 run, while striking out 2. “I’m pretty sure that this was my best game this year. Too bad it ended how it did, but, hey, whattayagonnado?”

Knights Lose, Held to Just One Run

Blue Stadium, Sakyō-ku, Kyoto – The Knights lost in what was overall a disappointing game. Both offensive and pitching wise. The Knights didn’t start off well, they were held without a hit for an inning and 2/3. They broke it up with a safety bunt by Shimozono in the bottom half of the second. In the top half of the next inning, Nomoto made a fantastic play, starting the inning-ending-double-play. But next inning would be the start of the Buffaloes offensive attack. Okada hit a blast to dead center to give the Buffaloes their first run. Next pitch, Leon hit a bomb to right, making the score 2-0.

And in the next inning, the Knights were in another jam. 2 on, 2 out, and Leon is up (right after Okada hit an RBI double). Techer chooses to walk him intentionally. Baldiris then hits a bloop single over the head of Nomoto, and another run comes in. Okada tried to score himself, but he was thrown out by “The Cannon” Shimozono, by a mile, to end the inning. The score is now 4-1.

In the game, Kanazawa and Kurihara went a combined 0-7 with a walk. They both spoke after the game.
“I did awful. I had 2 chances to impact the score, and both times, I did nothing.” Kurihara said.
“I’m sorry that I did so poorly… I had chances to help the team… And I failed…” Kanazawa said

Wow! The Knights are fantastic!

Would it be alright if I could reprise my role as Todd Micheals Even though it's so late...?

Well, the first of 3 All-Star Games is tomorrow, and it has been announced that 7 Knights players have made the team. And they are...

Masato Kurihara, batting 3rd, and starting at catcher
Takuya Kanazawa, battting 5th, and is the starting DH
Akitaka Shimozono
Taiga Kura
Goro Shigeno
Tsuyoshi Matsunaga
and... Sakatorou Makida!

Congratulations to all of them!

And for the Samurais, 5 players made it

Ichiro Hashimoto
Riku Hirabayashi
Jonny Hoashi
Ken Kamei
And... Mikihiko Shimazaki, batting 9th (for some odd reason) and the starting shortstop

This should be a very good game!

9:43

I was at my office, looking for a pen I seemed to have misplaced.
I heard a knocking at the door.
"C-Come in." I said as I stumbled a bit
Kensou walked in, "Jack, someone's down at my office. He says he knows you." He said
"Oh yeah? What's his name?" I asked
"Uh... Todd... Todd something."
"Todd... Todd Micheals?!"
"Yeah! That's it! You know him?"
"Of course! He was my Senior Adviser back with the Tigers. Where is he? I'm going to go talk to him."
"In my office."
"Alright. Thanks."
"No problem, Jack."
I left my office, and headed down to Kensou's office.
I saw Todd sitting.
"Todd!" I yelled
"Jack! It's been a while, eh?"
"Yeah! Where you been?"
"I took a break from baseball after we were all fired from the Tigers. I was in a state of depression, you could say."
"Well... How about you come on and join up with the Knights?"
"Yes! I would love to!"
"Well, welcome to the team, Todd!"
"Thank you. Thank you very much!"

Todd is back!

Alright, so before I play the All Star game, Mid-Season update!

I'll start with the fielders, like usual.

ImageTsuyoshi Matsunaga - CF
NUMBER, B/T, TRJ, CON, POW, RUN, ARM, FLD, E RES
41, L/L, 3, C, C, A, D, D, D
AVG: .258
HR: 12
RBI: 48
He started off the season rough, but has really picked up his game, getting plenty of clutch hits, and has a few leadoff homeruns as well.

ImageTouya Egawa - RF
NUMBER, B/T, TRJ, CON, POW, RUN, ARM, FLD, E RES
18, R/R, 3, B, C, A, C, D, E
AVG: .303
HR: 9
RBI: 37
He started off even worse than Matsunaga! I thought about benching him, I'm glad I didn't.

ImageTakuya Kanazawa - DH
NUMBER, B/T, TRJ, CON, POW, RUN, ARM, FLD, E RES
49, R/R, 3, C, A, D, E, E, E
AVG: .280
HR: 31
RBI: 76
He's in second in homeruns and RBI, only behind Kurihara. He is doing very well, I may move him to 5th, so Kurihara will have a serious bat behind him.

ImageMasato Kurihara - 1B
NUMBER, B/T, TRJ, CON, POW, RUN, ARM, FLD, E RES
34, R/R, 4, C, S (100!), A, C, D, C
AVG: .317
HR: 38
RBI: 83
Best player on the team. No question. He leads the league in homeruns and RBI.

ImageTaiga Kura - SS
NUMBER, B/T, TRJ, CON, POW, RUN, ARM, FLD, E RES
1, L/R, 3, B, C, C, C, C, D
AVG: .300
HR: 12
RBI: 58
He's been a solid player all season, batting .300, and has made some nice plays in the field.

ImageGoro Shigeno - LF
NUMBER, B/T, TRJ, CON, POW, RUN, ARM, FLD, E RES
56, R/R, 3, B, B, C, A, C, C
AVG: .299
HR: 15
RBI: 62
He's doing incredibly well, and I may move him up to third. He's essentially batting .300, and is third on the team in both homeruns and RBI.

ImageAkitaka Shimozono - C
NUMBER, B/T, TRJ, CON, POW, RUN, ARM, FLD, E RES
53, L/R, 2, E, E, B, A (94), B, E
AVG: .302
HR: 6
RBI: 35
He's been shocking me since the beginning of the season. According to my scouting report, he shouldn't be doing nearly as good as he is in batting. He's stolen a bunch of bases, gets a hit in almost every game I've attended, and can run into one. His arm is amazing too. Really amazing.

ImageHideo Nomoto - 2B
NUMBER, B/T, TRJ, CON, POW, RUN, ARM, FLD, E RES
4, R/R, 2, D, E, D, B, B, B
AVG: .233
HR: 3
RBI: 25
He's doing the worst offensive wise, but on the other side of the ball, he's amazing. He's our captain, and our leader.

ImageDaisuke Fukuchi - 3B
NUMBER, B/T, TRJ, CON, POW, RUN, ARM, FLD, E RES
5, S/R, 3, C, D, C, B, B, B
AVG: .228
HR: 11
RBI: 39
He was doing horrendously until the beginning of this month. He's really stepped up his game, but that average... Not looking so good.

ImageRikiya Terauchi
NUMBER, B/T, TRJ, CON, POW, RUN, ARM, FLD, E RES
52, S/R, 2, D, D, D, A, A, A
AVG: .136
HR: 0
RBI: 2
He hasn't played much, but when he has, he hasn't done great. Defense is good. Offense, not so much.

ImageJun Kaga
NUMBER, B/T, TRJ, CON, POW, RUN, ARM, FLD, E RES
72, R/R, 2, D, F, E, C, E, E
AVG: .250
HR: 0
RBI: 0
Meh.

ImageShun Tohno
NUMBER, B/T, TRJ, CON, POW, RUN, ARM, FLD, E RES
76, L/R, 3, C, B, E, E, E, E
AVG: .417
HR: 1
RBI: 5
He's started only a few times, but that one game, man. 4 RBIs. He's got some serious potential. Great pinch hitter.

ImageTakumi Nakahigashi
NUMBER, B/T, TRJ, CON, POW, RUN, ARM, FLD, E RES
20, L/R, 1, E, E, E, A, A, B
AVG: .125
HR: 0
RBI: 0
His fielding's great. Batting's not.

ImageYuuta Tanaka
NUMBER, B/T, TRJ, CON, POW, RUN, ARM, FLD, E RES
25, R/R, 4, F, B, E, F, C, E
AVG: .300
HR: 0
RBI: 1
He's primarily being used as a pinch hitter. He's not much other than a power hitter.
