2013 MLB All-Star Game
Angels Stadium of Anaheim

ANAHEIM -- The American League fell to the National League tonight in a very bizarre All-Star Game at Angels Stadium in Anaheim. The National League scored in the first on an RBI groundout by Albert Pujols, but the American League pulled off a very impressive feat in the bottom of the inning. The American League started the bottom of the first with five straight solo home runs by Grady Sizemore, Nick Johnson, Vladimir Guerrero, Alex Rodriguez, and Ryan Howard. Grady Sizemore homered twice in the same inning, hitting a three-run shot his second time around to complete an eight-run first for the American League. Despite a seven-run lead, the National League began their comeback in the third with RBI extra base-hits from Chase Utley and Matt Holliday. Carlos Delgado added two more for the National League in the fourth with a two-run double. Nick Swisher jacked a solo shot in the bottom of the inning, but the National League crept closer in the sixth with RBI doubles from Kosuke Fukudome and Chase Utley. Ryan Howard jacked another homer in the seventh, a solo shot, but the National League completed their comeback in the ninth with a two-run homer from Ryan Zimmerman and a solo shot from Carlos Beltran to make it 10-10. The National League scored twice in the tenth and won by two behind a save by Francisco Rodriguez.

Good offense, bad pitching. The good type of game to watch. :)

Oakland Athletics (55-38) @ Kansas City Royals (63-30)
July 18, 2013

KANSAS CITY -- The Royals won today behind plenty of offensive and a near-historic dominant pitching performance from Kyle Davies. The Royals jumped on Athletics starter Rich Harden early with four runs in the first. Nick Johnson skied an RBI double, followed by an RBI single by Billy Butler, who was followed by back-to-back RBI doubles from Khalil Greene and Alex Gordon. Mark Teahen finally knocked Harden out of the game in the third with a solo shot to right. Felipe Lopez jacked his own solo blast to center in the next inning, and Nick Johnson drove one out of the yard to left in the fifth to complete the Royals scoring for the day with seven runs. Kyle Davies had a perfect game, holding the Athletics without a base runner until the seventh inning when Jeff Fiorentino lined a double down the right field line. Pat Burrell would later drive him in with a single, but Davies went the distance with a complete game, allowing just the one run on three hits.

Erg, I don't know how I'm doing so well with pitching. Three straight scoreless starts in games that I've played. I already have CPU batting on Lock-On 2, I don't want to make it harder. :P
