"Hot" 5 (the songs other people are listening to, and my comments)

5. She Will - Lil Wayne feat. Drake (I've heard this several times at cross country practice)
4. Someone Like You - Adele (Some kids at cross country were singing this)
3. Moves Like Jagger - Maroon 5 feat. Christina Aguilera (I get this one, it's a #1 hit)
2. Drop it Like it's Hot - Snoop Dogg feat. Pharrell (A seven-year-old song finally gets some recognition)
1. Sexy and I Know It - LMFAO (It's LMFAO. End of discussion.)

Honorable mention:
Black and Yellow - Wiz Khalifa (aided by our HS kicker uploading his music video of it on YouTube)

Top 5 (The songs I'm listening to)
5. Let it Rock - Kevin Rudolf
4. The Show Goes On - Lupe Fiasco
3. Written in the Stars - Tinie Tempah feat. Eric Turner
2. Foster the People (pretty much anything)
1. MLBPP's BGM/Menu music

The stuff it plays when you're doing stuff on the game (i.e. success mode)

I see.

I'd do a Chemical Brothers onslaught, but PPJ's done that already multiple times. xD

5 unheralded songs from big albums:

5. The Kooks - Stormy Weather (Konk) --- From the second album of this fantastic group came this gem, just before Shine On, one of the greatest songs of theirs hands down. From the raw bassline in the intro to to the infectious vocals, it's a wonder this song didn't become a big single.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w41SHcNeKs0

4. Hard-Fi - Little Angel (Once Upon A Time In The West) --- Also from their 2nd, this song is a great song to listen to if one hasn't listened to them before. The trumpeting blares and synth-ish background stylings only add to the song's quality, and it could stay stuck in your head for days.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rnc8gi_a0jA

3. Paolo Nutini - Million Faces (These Streets) --- This song is amazing because of the vocal range it proves Nutini has, and damn what a range it is. His weathered, yet smooth in a way voice meshes well with the slightly brooding tone, and the fact that he wrote songs like this a couple years before he could even legally drink is a testament to his talent.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=twfQ-8M1Pnk

2. The Clash - Straight To Hell (Combat Rock) --- When people think The Clash, casual fans think of Should I Stay Or Should I Go, I Fought The Law, Train In Vain, etc. However, this is the song that the band considers maybe their greatest song. A downbeat, almost balladlike song, it stands in contrast to much of their other work and yet... it fits just perfectly. Oh yeah, and you know that M.I.A. song, paper planes? It samples the opening guitar part from this song.

1. The Strokes - Razorblade (First Impressions of Earth) --- I, for one, loved their third album. The people who thought it was too much of a departure are being ridiculous, because this album is still Strokes and therefore still amazing. From the little drum part in the opening, you know it will be good, and you aren't disappointed. This song is like classic Strokes in a way, being just as catchy and having a very hook-y guitar. A fantastic song on a unjustly-maligned album to round out my top 5.

Honorable Mention:
Arctic Monkeys - From the Ritz to the Rubble (Whatever people Say I Am, That's What I'm Not) --- Y'all know this album. One of the fastest selling debuts ever, and for good reason. On an album where every track could be a hit, this one stands out more than most. A faster song of theirs, with no less of a hook than the rest, once it starts it doesn't cease until the song ends.

Pp '07's music with the saxophones (Pretty sure that's what it is, or something similar) is just flat out catchy. Actually, all the background music from '07 is. '08 is okay, but it gets older quicker, and it stays the same for too long (not enough different songs for different things.)
