Sorry about the LOOOOONG gap since I last played. I had a busy end to my summer, and haven't had a chance to play much of anything since school started with having cross country practice after school and races on the weekends. I'll try to keep this going as consistently as I can (most likely just on weekends) from now on.

Detroit Tigers (35-54) @ Kansas City Royals (60-29)
July 10, 2013

KANSAS CITY -- The Royals pulled out a win against the Tigers today in extra innings. Nick Johnson got this one going in the first with an RBI double, and Billy Butler followed with his own RBI double to put the Royals up 2-0. The Tigers tied it in the second with a two-run homer by Placido Polanco, and Clete Thomas gave them the lead in the fifth with an RBI double. Luke Umbria tied it once again in the bottom of that inning with an RBI double of his own. This game remained 3-3 until the eighth when Derrek Lee finally chased Royals starter Ricky Dinas from the game with a solo shot. Leo Nunez then came into the game and immediately gave up a solo shot to Magglio Ordonez for back-to-back blasts. The Royals however managed to run into some luck in the eighth. Mark Teahen hit an RBI double to bring it within one and scored on a dropped pop out hit by Billy Butler to center fielder Clete Thomas to tie the game. The game went into extras tied 5-5, but it didn't take long to end it. With two outs in the tenth, Nick Johnson ripped a double to keep the inning alive against Fernando Rodney.
