I'm basically guaranteed to be the starting third baseman on the freshman team this year, since A. I already made the summer team, and B. Nobody plays 3B. I'm generally a middle infielder, and my fielding percentage plummets to about 75-80% at third, but not as much as the other kids in my grade who'd probably make an error on every other play. I've got decent speed, I'm a patient, high-walk, high-strikeout kind of guy (hit .333 in travel ball and led in walks), and I'm average in the field. Even though my speed is pretty average, I'm still good at stealing.

I was on the freshman team last year, it was a blast.

I had a fantastic team (we went 15-4, or something) and all the kids on there were nice.

My HS doesn't have a freshman team...only JV and Varsity.

I'm excited to, for the first time in my life, actually have a set position instead of playing a different spot every 2 innings. I've really got to work on fielding grounders at third, though, I tend to tense up and bobble the ball. For pitching, I've got average speed, a good changeup, I'm developing a curveball, and I have better control than most kids.

I think, if I play, I may be more of a CF, with all my speed. God forbid I be a pitcher...only have a fastball that, last I checked, was at 38 a year ago.

I don't think you have to worry about them making you a pitcher... fastest I've been clocked at is 68.
