Cross Country ftw!

I was thinking about doing cross country, but then I realized that there was no way I could run that much...

Me neither. Besides, I'm fine enough with playing only baseball anyways.

I run track (300 meter all the way) and play baseball for my high school.

And in both seasons I got hurt.

In track, I got a stress fracture on the first practice of the 2nd week. And in baseball I hurt my knee (I still don't know how) on the first practice of the second week. I was done for the year in track, but in baseball, I came back, and hit .321 (which I'm quite proud of).

This year though, I'm not going to get injured. *knock on wood*

I've honestly never been injured in my time playing baseball. It may be due to the fact that I'm not all that tall, and taller people are more likely to get injured. Due to injuries, I ended up being the starting Varsity left fielder at the end of the season, and I'm likely the favorite to start the year as the Varsity left fielder as well.

Yeah, I would agree on that point. I'm still going through some growth spurts, so I tend to hurt myself a lot. (plus I'm very tall and thin).

But congratulations on making varsity! I play left too! I didn't make it, since I'm not a very good hitter. I'm fast, a good fielder, and don't strike out often though.

They didn't bring me up because of my hitting, fwiw. I was the best fielder on the JV team, and in fact they didn't have any better fielders after the injuries, so that's why I was brought up. If I can grow a bit and improve my hitting against fellow lefties, then I'll definitely start.

You're lucky you're a lefty, it makes you more valuable. I'm just your average righty righty with a good arm, and makes contact often (though I don't make solid contact much).

I REALLY need to get better at hitting though, if I want to make varsity.

I may, MAY think about trying out for baseball this year...if I actually have a glove that's not autographed, I might be able to do it...of course I've never really swung a metal bat that much in my life...

I think so. I hope so.

But of course, if playing slow-pitch wiffleball is any indicator, I'm gonna get plenty of infield hits.

I know they do at our school. I knew a guy that was in your situation. Just don't quit after 3 games like he did.
