Haha that's funny. He has like 12 RBIs now right?

Well, he was on the DL for about 40 days earlier this year so that has given him less opprotunities for RBI's, but still, he got a 2 year 36.2 million dollar deal, he should be much more productive.

Unfortunatly this means less at bats for Eithier and Kemp.

I don't think Kemp will lose any at bats, at least with the way he's playing right now. Pierre and Ethier will be the ones to battle, especially since Manny only has experience at LF (I think). Maybe Kemp will move back to leadoff and play center, with Manny at left and Ethier at right.

The Dodgers should have tried to trade him. Someone would be dumb enough to take him thinking they could resurrect him. LA would have to eat his salary but it's better than paying him and having him strikeout in big situations or take up bench space. Or they could just release him. They just need to drop the dead weight.

They need to get rid of him somehow.

You couldn't GIVE Jones away. I suppose you'd have to offer Either and 2 AA guys and say if you want the prospects you must take Jones. The other option is to stuff Jones on the 60-day DL with some phantom injury and shut him down. This way you could eat the salary and have the roster space.

I like how the Dodgers got LaRoche to play 4 straight games before being sent down to showcase him to the Pirates. At least he gets to play with his brother.

Yeah, that would be a good idea, and if he somehow gets his game back they still have him instead of just releasing him and not having him as an option.

I didn't mean give him away. More like trade him off reasonably cheap. Although your idea with the prospects and jones is good too. I don't think that they are allowed to put someone on the DL with a make-believe injury but I could be wrong.

They could say he is feeling "soreness" in his knee or something.

I'm pretty sure teams have done it before, if they straight up told the MLB it was fake they wouldn't allow it, but how would they get the player to shut up about it is beyond me. The only way they could possibly trade away jones is taking most if not all his salary.

His shoulder is bothering him. Hence his hitting is terrible. They could use that as a viable excuse if they wanted to. But putting him on the 60 day DL couldn't be for a sore shoulder or knee.

I'd go with a knee injury, he was on the DL with torn cartilage in his knee earlier this year.

Yep, I'd do the same. I guess it would have to be more than soreness for the 60 day. On a different note, there is a nice article on mlb.com about the Laroche brothers.

Give me Andruw and his 32 OPS+ with the potential to hit a homer any time up over Juan Pierre's useless skillset anyday.

I'd rather have Pierre for his speed.
