11 home runs? Has he brought his power up to a B?

End of May:
Reapers Bourgeois has won Rookie of the Month with 1 win, 1 save, a 3.20 ERA and 10 strikeouts.

Financial report:
Income: 11233
Expenses: 24061
Total loss: 12828
Current amount: 141511

The Reapers really don't have much to be optimistic about, pretty much all they have is to think that they aren't decisively last place in the division, their also tied with the Angels, at 8 games behind the Mariners with a 25-31 record. Bumstead continues to have the best ERA on the team, now at 3.71. In relief, Fireballer has continued to dominate, lowering his ERA to an amazing 1.05. Bowie is now 6/7 in saves with a 7.71 ERA. Bowie has officially lost the closer role, and has been replaced with Fiore who has a 2.05 ERA for the team. Reapers ERA is back to their usual spot at top of the division and their average stays at the usual spot at the bottom.

Neu's .319 average leads the team now, Siegmund has dropped off to .289, but his 14 home runs lead the team. Brewer's 37 RBIs lead the team.

"The team really hasn't been playing well lately. Not even close. I don't want to seem unfaithful to my team, but I'm pretty much giving up hope for us making the playoffs this year, I'm already looking to the future and trying to make plans that may not see any immediate benefit but will help us down the line. The draft is of course later this month, so hopefully we can pick up a new player there that will help out the team, if not immediately, then after some practice."

Reapers offer trade, Brewers accept:

Reapers get:
C.Hart

Brewers get:
Bowie

"This is one of those trades that I believe will benefit both teams. It's a salary cut for us, which is always welcome. The Brewers are just coming off a World Series championship so they definitely have some money to spend. Besides that, they were in the market for some relief pitching, with our combination of Fireballer and Fiore, we don't really need any more late inning relief. They weren't even using C.Hart in their lineup, so they won't be missing him. Meanwhile, it's obvious our right fielder, Prochaska, has been struggling. We're over 2 months into the season and I can't remember a time where he's been hitting .200 or more. I have to make a move there. I realize we've got our first overall pick in Orie waiting to play Right Field, we'll have to see how this plays out. If C.Hart performs well and doesn't demand unreasonable salaries Orie might be waiting for a while longer."

Aw, come on. Don't you know the entire first round of every draft is full of predicted hall of famers. All the hitters will hit 40 HRs a season, and every pitcher will win a Cy Young.

Well, I was going after some abilities, but after this amount of time has passed since I've asked people, I think it's safe to say nobody knows if you can really get Gyroball and nobody is willing to experiment with it.

End of June:
Reapers Bourgeois has won another Rookie of the Month Award with 2 wins, a 0.93 ERA and 6 strikeouts for the month.

Financial report:
Income: 11076
Expenses: 4327
Total gain: 6749
Current amount: 148260

15-11 was the Reapers record for June, the Reapers managed to hit a win percentage of .500 for one game before losing the next two and falling to their current 40-42 record. The Reapers are now part of a three way tie for second place in the division with the Angels and Athletics, unfortunately for all these teams, there isn't usually a Wild Card winner in this Division, so they will all have to take a run at the Mariners who are 6 games ahead of all of them.

The best ERA on the team now belongs to Duke at 2.86, his 9 wins also lead the team. Fireballer's ERA has been dropped even farther, now at 0.96 for the season. Fiore's ERA has dropped to 1.96. Mitre's 6.25 ERA has gotten him demoted to the 5th spot in the rotation. Robbins' .311 average is leading the team, he also has 16 home runs. Neu's good average, now at .304, was good enough to get him moved up one spot in the lineup midway through the month. Siegmund has been hitting well all around, with an average of .287 and a home run total of 19, which, along with his 58 RBI's, leads the team. The team's pitching is the best in the division in every category except strikeouts, while their hitting is worst in the division in only average and home runs.

"We had a good month, and if we continue to have months like these we definitely still have a chance to make the playoffs. I am considering making some moves that will help us get farther this year, but I don't want to make any moves that will hurt us in the long run. I want to make the playoffs now, but making the playoffs more consistently later would be better. Our pitching has continued to be great and our hitting has continued to not be great. If we can make any more pitcher for hitter deals that will help out our team's major weakness."

On another note, after some training with former starting Right Fielder, Prochaska, Siegmund has picked up the Rally Hitter ability.

Reapers Update:

There have been rumors that the Reapers are trying to work out a deal with the Red Sox, neither GM has confirmed or denied these rumors.

The following Reapers players have earned a spot in the All Star Game:
Zach Duke will be the American League starter of the 2009 All Star Game.
Fireballer and Fiore have earned spots as relievers.
Ralph Siegmund was selected by the coaches as one of two backup catchers.

I think I'll just never do summaries for All Star Games, there really is no need as long as there's a video.

Red Sox accept Reapers trade:

Reapers get:
Casey
Youkilis
Pedroia
1500 points

Red Sox get:
Gettis
Fikac
Tremie

"Ultimately I think this will help the team, I figured we needed to make a trade soon because we're only 3 games out of the Wild Card spot, it doesn't look like the Mariners will fall out of first any time soon. As an old Red Sox fan, well, they're still probably my second favorite team, I couldn't really stand to see guys like Youkilis and Pedroia in the minor leagues, I felt the same way when I saw the Angels start Manny Ramirez in AAA, but they came to their senses. The worst part about the trade for us is, in addition to losing a good pitcher, but we can afford to trade pitching for offense at this point, Youkilis' 2430 salary. Hopefully these players will be able to make significant contributions to the offense for at least a couple years. In the offseason we may have to teach some players new positions, if we can't manage any trades that will make our team more balanced, rather than having too many good players at one position and no good players in another."

Reapers sell players to Orioles:

Reapers get:
2604 points

Orioles get:
Barker
Berger

"After our trade with the Red Sox, we're set for first basemen. We looked around to see what teams would benefit from these players the most and the Orioles didn't have any first basemen, so we sold them to the Orioles at a price that seemed fair to both of us. We don't play too many games against them so it shouldn't hurt us too much. Obviously this trade lowered the team salary as well. And after buying new practice equipment that will help."

End of July:

Financial Report:
Income: 14559
Expenses: 54010
Total Loss: 39451
Current Amount: 108809

The Reapers had an amazing 18-7 month of July, despite this, they actually fell more behind the Mariners, as they are now 7 games behind. They are currently tied with the White Sox in the race for the Wild Card, which, judging by the incredible records of the Tigers and Mariners, is the only chance for either of these teams. The Reapers All Star break which included several players of theirs in the All Star Game as well as a trade to improve the offense seemed to help motivate the team, as they ended the month with a 7 game winning streak.

Duke's ERA is 2.55 to lead the team, Rottino's 12 wins lead the team. Fireballer's 0.94 ERA has been helping the team all year. Fiore has a 2.01 ERA and 12 saves so far. Casey's .326 average is leading the team, but he hasn't spent a lot of time on the Reapers yet. Robbins' 115 hits leads the team. Siegmund has a team leading 26 home runs and 72 RBIs, as well as 64 runs scored. The team's ERA is still the best in the division. The team's batting average is one of the worst in the division, but they are now tied with, surprisingly, the Mariners, who, despite their low average, lead the division in runs scored.

Minor league Right Fielder, Prochaska, has learned the Firstball Hitter ability.

End of August:
Fiore won Relief Pitcher of the Month for August with 2 wins, 7 saves, a 3.75 ERA, and 13 strikeouts.

Financial report:
Income: 12039
Expenses: 4092
Total gain: 7947
Current amount: 116756

16-11 was the Reapers record for the month, which was good enough to put them only 4 games back of the Mariners and put them far ahead of the White Sox for the Wild Card spot as they had a terrible month. The Reapers are now in the lead for the Wild Card, 4 games ahead of the tied Yankees and Rays.

Duke's 2.90 ERA and 15 wins leads the team. Fiore's ERA has increased to 2.38 but he now has 19 saves. Fireballer's ERA has increased to an even 1.00. Casey is not doing nearly as well with the Reapers as he did with the Red Sox, his average dropped to .315 and if it continues to drop he may wind up not leading the team. Siegmund's 30 home runs, 93 RBIs, and 145 hits leads the team, along with his 78 runs scored, 55 walks, 12 hit by pitch, 266 total bases and .385 on base percentage.

End of September:

Financial report:
Income: 10715
Expenses: 3960
Total Gain: 6755
Current Amount: 123511

The Reapers completely fell apart in September, 10-18 was their record for the month. They finished 3rd in the Wild Card race, and second in their division with an 84-78 record.

Standings:
The Reapers, with an 84-78 record, finished second in their division.
The Penguins, with a 75-87 record, finished fifth in their division, but still 14 games ahead of the Orioles.
The Rays, with an 89-73 record, have won the AL East.
The Yankees, with an 87-75 record, won the AL Wild Card, only 1 game ahead of the Red Sox.
The Tigers, with a 97-65 record, won the AL Central.
The Mariners, with a 95-67 record, won the AL West.
The Mets, with a 99-63 record, won the NL East with the best record in the MLB.
The Braves, with a 90-72 record, won the NL Wild Card.
The Cardinals, with an 88-74 record, won the NL Central.
The Rockies, despite ending in a tie with the Padres, have been decided as the NL West division winners.

Team Leaders:
Duke lead the team with a 3.38 ERA, 186.2 innings pitched, 201 strikeouts, and tied with Rottino at 16 wins.
Fiore's 23 saves lead the team.
Siegmund's .296 average lead the team as Casey's dropped dramatically over the last month, ending at .285. Siegmund also lead the team with 171 hits, 19 doubles, 34 home runs, 114 RBIs, 89 runs scored, 70 walks, .385 on base percentage, 306 total bases, 17 stolen bases, .529 slugging percentage, and 60 extra base hits.
Obviously there aren't many other hitting categories to have leaders in, but Casey tied Siegmund with 19 doubles, and Robbins tied him with 17 stolen bases.

Harang's 203 innings pitched lead the league.

Harang's 224 strikeouts lead the league.
Pujols' .368 average lead the league, as did his 222 hits and 53 home runs.
D.Wright lead in RBIs again, this time with only 166.

If there's a category you would like to be added in future years, let me know.
