I know you guys have posted about Chemical Brothers before, but I just got a compilation album of theirs for the hell of it (2 CD's and a DVD for 10 bucks? Hells yes.) and I like it. So...

Chemical Brothers - Galaxy Bounce

I did some research on that guy and turns out he was schizophrenic...so that may offer an explanation as to his lyrics.

Look up outsider music, while Wesley Willis is bad, others, like Daniel Johnson, are pretty good.

Oh yeah, I've heard of outsider music, and some of it is pretty good. And if I'm correct, Daniel Johnson was schizophrenic too, right? Or is that the point of outsider music?

He was manic-depressive, but really talented, too. The documentary "The Devil and Daniel Johnston is pretty interesting.

One of the greatest songs ever made by The Beatles A Day in The Life

Heres a song by the Kinks I just discovered http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=20Oq6-5iqvQ

This is my theme song for me and my friends http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sZQ3FiKf09M

MY TOP 10 ALBUMS OF ALL TIME

10: Jayber Crow - Two Short Stories
This is the album that got me into folk music. Raw, emotional power driven into each note and lyric. These guys love music, and it shows. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=htnvX-XuuU4

9: Smashing Pumpkins - Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness
Great rock songs that became anthems of the 90s. This 24 song opus is not to be missed.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V6fQ2pgWQV4

8. Yuck - Weakened
A hard to find debut album by recent up and comers Yuck. Melancholy, beautiful songs, that are very different from their popular sophomore hit.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sevV-RCAlEM

7. Crystal Castles - II
Really accessible electronica. One listen and you'll love 'em.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IsxNUl1IHnE

6. Sunny Day Real Estate - Seven
Emo before emo sucked. A really great indie rock band that changed alternative music forever.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZiEGmrrUw-U

5. Decemberists - Crane Wife
The first alternative CD I ever bought. Great music from start to finish.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0qLHNXrjYlk

4. Broken Social Scene - Broken Social Scene
Move over Arcade Fire! There's a new amazing band in Canada. Infectuous melodies, to stick with you all day.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uev2J_cBHjQ

3. Explosions in the Sky - All of a Sudden, I Miss Everyone
Instrumential rock that stays interesting without lyrics.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uev2J_cBHjQ

2. Yuck - Yuck
Self titled albums usually tell you what the band stands for. Yuck stands for greatness.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uev2J_cBHjQ

1. Wild Nothing - Gemini
Absolutely perfect. Just listen.

All right, lemme do a quick album check myself. No order though, no way I can do that.

Against Me! - Searching For A Former Clarity. Great, still punk-ish sound, and a bit of that folk tinge they're known for. The title track is one of the greatest album closers ever, and some say a tribute to Freddy Mercury (while others say it's for a friend). Either way, it's as amazing as the rest of the album.
Don't Lose Touch - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xKUpNpSLQ1M

The Antlers - Hospice. The best concept album I have ever heard. It's emotionally wrenching, both as a whole and from song to song, and the lyrics are enough to make you weep, in some cases.
Two - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yAAD61ZruSE&ob=av2e

Arctic Monkeys - Whatever people Say I Am, That's What I'm Not. A legendary debut album, and it's still amazing today. pick a song, any song from the album, and you'll get a song that could have been a hit if it was a single.
The View From The Afternoon - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PeQAZsyucbQ (Arctic Monkeys also have one of the greatest drummers in modern rock, right up there with Darren King of Mutemath)

The Clash - London Calling/Combat Rock. Ah, The Clash. Never strictly punk, what with their bits of reggae, R&B, rap, you name it and they implemented some influence into a song at some point. I can't decide between either album, because both are so strong from start to finish.
From LC: Train In Vain - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XYK7bEo1Z4M
From CR: Rock the Casbah - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OAkfHShATKY

Keane - Under The Iron Sea. The second album of this British piano rock group may not contain the wonder that is Somewhere Only We Know, but the overall sound of the album is much better. The songs are all very well-written and performed, and there isn't just one song I can mention on this album, there are several.
Crystal Ball - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhRTPCMr0GM

Vampire Weekend - Vampire Weekend. What a debut album. What a great band. Sure, the singles are great, (and really, who does give a f*** about an Oxford Comma? :P ) but the rest of the album is just as great. Seriously, if you haven't listened to the catchy songs Campus, Bryn and Walcott, you've missed out.
Campus - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H47KFAaw1dU

The Shins - Oh, Inverted World. Oh, The Shins. You are so amazing. Do you know that? I hope the people here know. Anyways, it was tough deciding between this wondrous debut album and their second offering, but I had to go with the stylings of this one. There's two of these songs featured in Garden State, and many more that have such a great, lo-fi indie sound to them...
The Past and Pending - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SmGSKJJmhDo

Franz Ferdinand - Franz Ferdinand. From the beginning, these guys were going to be big. And with this album, they just really blew the top off everything. Take Me Out, obviously, was great. But there were other amazing singles too, like Michael and Dark of the Matinee. Even songs like 40' are up to par with the more popular songs.
Michael - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7OH7NhwZlj4

Fitz & the Tantrums - Pickin' Up The Pieces. If you haven't heard these guys, I want you to listen to a random song of theirs and then guess what decade they're from. Now go Google them and realize that they released this album last year. Didn't sound like it, eh? Bringin' Motown and soul to the 21st century, the duo of Fitzpatrick and Noelle Scaggs (and the lack of a guitar) make for quite the unique sound today.
Winds of Change - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=doe1KdaywKg

We Are Scientists - With Love And Squalor. It was tough, picking this over the Chiefs, but I had to. This album has grown on me with every time I listen to a song from it, and the album cover is really quite awesome. See:
Image
Anyways, these guys have great energy, and leaving them out when they've grown on me so much of late would be a mistake.
The Great Escape - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vK20cYuFmbM&ob=av2e

Honorable Mention: Kaiser Chiefs - Yours Truly, Angry Mob. As mentioned before, WAS beat them out, but this album is definitely worth noting. The second album from my favorite British band doesn't disappoint, and while most would focus on the fantastic single 'Ruby,' I prefer songs such as Heat Dies Down and the fabulously titled 'Love Is Not A Competition (But I'm Winning).' They're one of those bands that spreads around the amazing tracks, though, much like Spoon and arguably the White Stripes.
Love Is Not A Competition... - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q6NrFa9Ur7U

Also, Arcade Fire > Broken Social Scene.
I was about to put Funeral on this list, but it was one of the last cuts.

Good choice, putting the Antlers up there. Even though BSS>Arcade Fire, they're still good. I think the reason I say this is that I'm getting Mumford and Sons syndrome. When I see Arcade Fire on TV, iTunes, and, the radio all the time, I get burnt out on 'em.
