Cleveland Indians (21-16) @ Honolulu Sluggers (27-10)

5-10-08- The Sluggers beat the Indians again today, in comeback fashion. Johnny Peralta had a good game, hitting a 2 run homer in the 2nd to give the Indians a 2-0 lead. In the 4th, the Indians got 2 more runs, on a Gutierrez RBI groundout, and a Carroll RBI single to put the Sluggers down 4-0. The Indians weren't done yet though, as Victor Martinez hit a 2 run homer in the 5th to put the Sluggers down 6-0. That's when the bats woke up. In the 6th, Alex Gordon hit a 2 run homer of his own, to make it 6-2. The big inning was the 8th, as the Sluggers scored 6 runs on a Gonzalez solo homer, a Backe 2 RBI single, then Jack Allen hit his second homer of the year, a 3 run shot to right to put the Sluggers ahead for good, making the final 8-6. In other news, catcher Nathan Withey broke his collarbone in the 6th, colliding into the wall, and is out for 33 days. He has a .353 average, 9 homers, and 22 RBI's. Buster Posey was given the starting job, and Matt Tupman is the backup. Our next game is on the 14th, with Techer scheduled to start.

What's Stewart's batting average?

It's been hanging around .360 forever. He's on a 20 game hitting streak too. :D

Yeah, I enjoy doing Success Mode as long as I'm not getting injured or fired all the time. I usually just play until I get too mad from those 2, then come back later.

But yeah, My pitching isn't that great, but I can't lose! I wish my record was more realistic.

But glad to see your interest! I always like it when people post comments on my logs! :D

Honolulu Sluggers (30-10) @ Tampa Bay Rays (22-18)

5-14-08-The Sluggers pulled out a win in Tampa today, powered by a great performance by Ryan Techer. Jay Stewart hit a 2 RBI single in the 2nd inning to give the Sluggers an early 2-0 lead. Stewart was batting for his third time in the 4th inning, when he grounded out with a runner on third, allowing the runner to score, to make it 3-0. Then, the next batter, Jones, hit a double over the center fielder's head to bring in 2 more runs, and make it 5-0. Ryan Techer gave up his only runs on a 2 run frozen rope homer to right field by Carlos Pena in the 6th. Techer would go on to pitch into the ninth, was pulled with one out, allowing Washington to come in and wrap it up, even though he wasn't credited with the save. Our next game is in Detroit, against the Tigers, with Young scheduled to start.

Honolulu Sluggers (32-12) @ Detroit Tigers (25-19)

5-18-08-The Sluggers were handed a rare loss today by the Tigers, blowing a late lead. The Sluggers scored 3 in the 3rd, on a Gonzalez RBI single, and a Greene 2 RBI double. The Tigers answered right back though, with a Curtis Granderson 2 run homer to make it 3-2. The Sluggers got 2 more in the fifth, on an Andrew Jones RBI triple, and an Alex Gordon sac fly to make it 5-2. Once again though, the Tigers answered right back, on a Polanco RBI double. Miguel Cabrera grounded into a double play in the 8th, but was awarded an RBI to make it 5-4. The Sluggers tacked on an insurance run that they would need in the 9th, on an Alex Gordon RBI double, to put the Sluggers up 6-4. Johnny Washington blew his first save of the year, allowing RBI's by Jones, Granderson, and Renteria without registering an out, as Renteria's was a walk-off single. Our next game is vs. the Ryas back home on the 21st, with Collins pitching.

I never really realized it, but they are stacked in this game!

Yep. And is it just me, and this might be kind of off-topic, but doesn't it seem like almost every player's power is overrated? I think Polanco is a C and he hit no more than 10 home runs ever with the Tigers.

Yeah, was I don't really think Ordonez deserved A contact. It's so hard to get a pitch by him! They just have a lineup that can hit a homerun every inning with every player!

Yeah the tigers are definitely stacked. Another team like that are the Mets. I usually play with the Phillies and i cannot win the division. In MLB Life i was sox years into my career until we finally won the N.L. East. We always beat them in the playoffs though.

I think 2007 was the year Ordonez won the AL batting title, so yeah, I think he does deserve it.

I didn't really follow baseball until the Brewers made the playoffs in '08. But Matt Holliday doesn't have A contact, and he won the title for the NL.
