Ok, now that I've shown my anger, let's play! "Help LM117 out with Real Life Issues!"

In our last episode, LM was having problems in Gym class with a ******* ruling over that the gym basketball court. That has been resolved (for now) and he now has a new issue, in today's story "The Fat Piper".

Ok, all kidding aside, here's whats happening. Theres this really fat flute player in my band class, and he thinks he's the greatest thing since sliced bread. He's 15thish chair (3rd Row, This is REALLY bad btw.), but, he harrases me every day in class, I'm a Trombone player, by saying I suck. And, to top it off, he calls our whole section crappy. Here's one example of a fight we've had http://www.facebook.com/?sk=lf#!/permal ... 1085012955 (I'm Sam, he's Caleb, Daniel and Parker are mutual "friends" (use that lightly)). Basicly, I've narrowed myself down to three different ways I can handle this

1. Physical, start a fight and kick is butt.
2. Peaceful, talk to Band Director/Guidence Counslor about it, and get it resolved.
3. Stalemate, continue arguing.

From what I've seen, he's pretty insecure. He some how brought where I live into to arguement today, saying I was a "stuck up Buena Vistian". Buena Vista is a wealthier section of town, with LOTS of stuck up, rich snobs from there, though not everyone fits that bill, like me. We're struggling in the economy, like most people, which he can't seem to understand. He also said once "Strolling through my contacts and seeing nobody that will talk to me is saddening. I feel out of place, and hated by many. I just can't do all this anymore."

So, advice. I really hope you guys can see the comment threa, its pretty amusing if you aren't ticked off everytime you see it.

I think you should first start with peaceful, and then if that doesn't work/worsens the problem, try to be physical. That's just my advice.

Go to the band director and guidance counselor and talk about what's going on. I would absolutely NOT resort to violence.

I've thought of option 4 and 5 now.

4. Ignore him, but that makes him thinks he's won, I don't like that.
5. Non-Peaceful but Non-Physical Attack, basicly, I shout at him, tell him everyone hates him for good reason, and call him lots of names.

Peaceful might work, but if it doesn't, I really don't know what I can do without being a jerk or a wuss about it.

Okay, now this is very interesting. I've come across a similar situation in my life (which is now resolved) I took a different approach (as I was typically not the one targeted). I am a pretty reserved person, and people (jokingly) say I that I have no emotions. (Which is very untrue, I'm quite an emotional guy). Bu that's all besides the point. What I typically do (and this isn't the best thing to do) is sit by and ignore them. Until I snap. And when I snap, it is an explosion of accumulated rage and annoyance. As I said this isn't the best thing to do.

What I would advise is talking to a guidance counselor or teacher, or whomever. But that sometimes doesn't do anything.

He seems like a stereotypical "bully" by picking on you. He most likely is insecure about something (potentially his weight, I don't know, could be anything), so he takes his confusion and anger out on others. What he's doing, he's doing for attention. He just wants attention, and if you give it to him he wins. It's like if you tell a joke and no one laughs, or no one is paying attention. It makes you feel uncomfortable (for a lack of better words).

So if telling someone of power doesn't work, go with option 4, ignore him. It may seem as if he's winning, but truthfully, he isn't. He isn't getting what he wants, attention.

ALSO as a side note.
NEVER-EVER go with option 5. EVER. (I have thought of doing it myself many times). It'll just worsen the problem. And since you called him names and told him you (and many others) hate him, he now has something to pin YOU on, so YOU would be the one receiving the bulk of the punishment.

Also, if you say stuff like that to him, he may cause harm to himself and/or others, and you wouldn't want that on your conscience, would you?

Don't worry, it'll all go away eventually.

I'd agree with ignoring him. Every single time. I'd go out of my way to ignore him, like purposely sitting next to him and ignoring him. Maybe throw in a "I'm sorry, did you say something?" every now and then. I agree, he wants attention, so get everyone to deny him that.
