I've had an idea, and I need an opinion on it.

I'm thinking of adding an American scout, someone who looks through the password exchange (occasionally [heck, you could just make up players if you wanted]) and tells me about some good American players.

This is just an idea, if anyone is interested in this, tell me and I'll add it! :D

I guess I'll try out being the American scout.

Hmm... I thought my guy was the American scout... Or is this new guy my understudy?

You're the primary scouter, so yes, this new guy is your understudy. :)

Hey, I was just looking through this again, and I see that I still owe you a player.

Do you still even need one?

Oh yeah, it's your decision, if he's good enough, then yeah. Sure, I'll take 'em.

Story time!

June 11

*Ring-ring-ring-ring*
The 4 ring-ring. The owner was calling.
I picked up, as I always do.
"Moshi moshi" I said
"Hey Jack, I've got someone here." He stated
"Yeah, who is it?"
"He says his name is Mark Coley and he's applying to be the new American scout."
"Okay, I'll be right there."
"Alright."
He hung up, and I was on my way to the office. Along the way though I hit some heavy traffic, which was very annoying.
When I finally arrived, the owner looked kinda mad. And there was no way I was going to tell him what happened (since he would probably think that I was lying).
I greeted Mark.
"Hello Mark, I'm Jack Allen the GM. Nice to meet you."
"Nice to meet you too sir." He said (albeit abrasively)
"So, what makes you want this job?"
"Well, I've uh... been a long time fan of the Tigers. And, um... I would love to help the team win their first championship in 27 years."
"Great! Welcome aboard!"
"Th-that's it?"
"Yep, welcome aboard Mark hopefully you can help the team a bunch!"
"Th-thank you sir!"
"No, thank you. We've been needing an American scout for awhile now. Oh, and you'll be reporting to Preston Greene, he's the scouting director."
"Oh okay, where's his office?"
"Right down the hall, you should probably go meet up with him now, and tell him that you work here."
"Y-yes sir, I will."
"Oh, and don't call me sir, call me Jack."
"Alright si- Jack. I'll go meet with Preston now."
"Carry on."
I watched as he left down the hall to meet with Preston. I turned to the owner.
He glared at me.
"Hiring another without an interview, huh?" He stated
"Yeah, he looked pretty qualified."
He sighed
"Well, we'll just have to wait and see what Preston says about him."
"Yep."

So the owner and I waited for Preston to email what he had to say about Mark.
Preston said:

I think he's perfect for this job, good thing you hired him Jack.

Regards,
Preston Greene.

1.

Nah, I'd say 3. Preston is glad to have some help scouting, as it gives him more room to be lazy :P

Also, I was wondering if you guys need a long reliever, outfielder, or catcher. Cause I made players at each of those positions. I'll PM you their stats/passwords if you want them

OOH OOH can I see all 3 of their stats? I'll probably only go with the long reliever though.
And thanks! :D

Tigers come out victorious, over the best team in baseball

Image – Kiyoshi Toyoda w/Giants in 2008
Image – Kenji Johjima

Chiba Marine Stadium, Chiba City, Chiba Prefecture – Yesterday, the Tigers won! And with the score 8-4! But this wasn’t just any win, this was a win against the best team in all of baseball at the moment – The Marines. At 15 games over .500 they’ve proved to be a force to be reckoned with. In yesterday’s game Kenji Johjima got it all started in the 2nd by getting his 2,500th hit in his career, with a homerun to left. Also, Kanemoto made an excellent diving catch and doubled up the runner in the bottom of the 5th.

- Takaharu Sonada

And may I say: First post of 2011! :danceparty:

June 15, 2012

As I was heading off to do some errands, I heard my phone ring. Only this time, it wasn't the owner.
I picked up.
"Hello?" I said
"Hi, Jack?" The voice said
"Uh... Yes, who is this?"
"This is Mark, Mark Coley. The new American scout."
"Oh, hello Mark, what is it that you need?"
"Well, um... I just saw two talented young players over in America, and um... could you come down to the office so I could show them to you?"
"Yeah, sure I'll be right there."
"Okay. Cool. Bye."
"See ya."
He hung up.
So, instead of doing my much needed grocery shopping, I headed off to the office.
Once there I saw Mark waiting there for me, so I rushed in, and into his office.

"Who've you got?" I asked him
"Okay, so I was watching some tapes, and talking to one of my buddies over in America, and I found out about these two jems."
"Alright, who are they?"
"Firstly, they both played for Flanagan High School in Pembroke Pines, Florida. This school was ranked number 1 in 2010."
"Impressive, were they part of that?"
"Oh absolutely!"
"Excellent."
"Okay, so the first player I wish to show you is Aaron Robles."
He pulled up a page on the internet about Aaron.
"Aaron Robles, huh? Let's see..." I said
When he was scrolling down the page I saw his stats for the previous season.
"Wait, stop!" I yelled
Mark stopped scrolling and showed me his season statistics, he also read them off.
"Okay sir - I mean Jack, Aaron batted .302, hit 18 homeruns, and had 52 RBI's. Oh, and he was the leadoff hitter too."
I was in disbelief. He was amazing. He had excellent range it said, an excellent arm, he's an excellent hitter, great in the clutch, good at stealing, his only downside seemed to be that he made his fair share of errors.
"Yeah so, he's pretty awesome, isn't he?" Mark asked
"He sure is!" I responded
"Oh, and he says he wants to play in Japan."
"Awesome!"

Aaron Robles
AGE, YEARS PRO, POSITION, 2ND POSITION, B/T, TRJ, CON, POW, RUN, ARM, FLD, E RES
19, 0, SS, N/A, R/R, 3, C, B, A, C, C, E

"The second player I want to show you is Tyler Rzepko." Jack said
He pulled up Rzepko's page, sure enough he was excellent too.
"So Rzepko can play the outfield. but he can also play short when in a pinch. So he could add some depth. He batted second, and was the starting left fielder for Flanagan."
"Alright." I said
"Robles and Rzepko pretty much lead the team to their excellent record of 25-2. Rzepko batted .328, hit 13 homeruns, and drove in 55."
He was just as good as Robles. Thank God I hired Mark. Rzepko was the same, an outstanding player. He has a good bat, he could run, he has an excellent arm, and he's a great fielder. The only downside with him would be that he sometimes struggles with lefties, though only very occasionally.

Tyler Rzepko
AGE, YEARS PRO, POSITION, 2ND POSITION, B/T, TRJ, CON, POW, RUN, ARM, FLD, E RES
19, 0, OF, SS, R/R, 2, C, C, B, B, C, C

"I want them, I want them both."
"Me too sir, but where would they play them? We've got Toritani at short, and the outfield is full, except maybe we could replace Murton, but he's starting to come out of his slump now." Mark inquired
"Hm... Good point, I'll have to think about this."
"Well, once you come to a decision, tell me and I'll let them know."
"Alright, thanks Mark."
"No problem."

And so I left, thinking about roster changes, and how different this staff will be in the upcoming years. I had to call Preston, Ryan, Todd, and Bryan for their opinions on this subject.

So PPJ, dishnetkid, [tm], and maccrash what do you think the Tigers should do with this?
