It should be a great series. The Giants are the favorite but with Cliff Lee making 2 starts in the series (maybe 3  ) then the Rangers will make it interesting, they're a good team themselves

I have one word to respond to that: Lincecum! :P
And another: Cain!

The Giants have defeated the Rangers in the world series.

It was a disappointing series, really, for all the people who were hoping for a close, pitcher-dominated series. I didn't think it was that bad, but I was hoping for something better.

Anyway, this topic is now dead. I'll miss you.

I'm really liking the voters so far

AL Cy Young- FELIX HERNANDEZ
NL Cy Young- Roy Halladay
AL Rookie of the year- Netfali Feliz
NL Rookie of the year- Buster Posey

Any thoughts so far on the offseason?

Posey and Felix? I like this offseason almost as much as I like this season. :P

Felix, as I said on ESPN's facebook page, "Sabermetrics ftw!"

Posey, I hate that. Heyward should have gotten it. I think you should only be ROY eligible if you started the season in the Bigs, but hey, I don't make the rules. Posey's deserving, don't get me wrong, but it still has a sour taste in my mouth. Probably because I'm a Braves fan

Feliz I like. He was the best rookie in the AL by far.

Halladay deserved it, but he's done so much lately, I don't know if I like the fact he won. Once again though, I'm a Braves fan.

Explain why? For the record, Posey only had, what, 100 less AB's?

*Put's on Professor glasses*

Ok, in 2010, Carl Crawford played 154 games and had exactly 600 Ab's. That was good for 22nd most Ab's this year. 100/600=1/6. Heyward himself played 142 games with 520 Ab's. Posey himself played in 108 games with 406 Ab's. Posey had about 1/5 less Ab's than Heyward did and about 1/3 compared to a league leader. That's actualy a very sizeable difference. The wear and tear of the long season takes it's toll on the body, the toll Posey had less of since he played less time than Heyward. Also, it commands and organization to take risks on young stars to perform for glory. It gives rookies like Strasburg, who's now ineligeble, a better and more acurate chance to win. A full season is a much better indictator than from, what is it? June onward?, for Rookie of the Year.

1. I'll bring up again the argument that he is a catcher, the most demanding position other than pitcher. Plus, it's not as if he simply didn't play the first part of the season; he was in the minors. Probably irrelevant, but just sayin'.
2. Also consider that he played through the entire postseason (Suck it :P). As the starting catcher. As a rookie. That's quite a lot of pressure if you ask me, and he delivered.

Not trying to poke holes in your argument, I just enjoy debating.

Last time I checked, ROY was for the regual season. Who cares how you did after that? In the words of Billy Beane "My job is to get them into the playoffs. After that it's just ******* luck."

And catcher is pretty demanding, and I'm not saying he didn't deserve the honor. I'm making my case for why it should be if you start the in the majors, not join up halfway. Also, he played 1st base quite a bit also, so its not like it was exulsively at catcher.

And yes, I enjoy debating too  .

Oh come on, tell me people don't take postseason performance into account anyways.

It was not halfway, for the record, he was called up in late May.

And playing 1st base too shows his versatility.

Billy Beane also GM's a team that chokes every time it makes it to playoffs. :P

Posey deserved it. I'll say that. Just defending my man Heyward.

And the Braves got Dan Uggla from Florida for Omar Infante and a pitcher whose name escapes me.
