April in Review

The month of April was decent for the Kansas City Royals to start the season. They went 16-12, and currently lie smack dab in the middle of the division standings at third place, two games behind the leading White Sox with a record of 18-10. The Royals scored 95 runs during the month while allowing just 72, in major part to the performance of Kelvim Escobar. Escobar has had, by far, the greatest start to the season of any major league player. Escobar is 5-0 in five starts, and has not allowed a single earned run so far to start the season in 41 1/3 innings pitched. He also has two complete game shutouts, and is leading the majors in strikeouts with 61. Joakim Soria had a rough start, having three blown saves and losses in a short time period, but has recovered and is now 8 out of 11 in saves. The Royals have also had some shining stars offensively. Felipe Lopez is currently leading the team in batting average (.304), hits (34), and RBI (19). He also has seven stolen bases, three behind David DeJesus who is leading the majors with ten. Khalil Greene has exploded with power, leading the team with six home runs this month. Another bright spot is rookie Chris Conti, who homered in his first major league at bat, and continues to show promise as a future leader of this team. It has been a good month, however, the Royals need to improve if they want to get way ahead in the division.

Wait, you guys are cousins? I didn't realize, you haven't even mentioned it for 2 whole days.

In all seriousness, why do you bring it up so often? I've been on forums with my brothers before for and we never once felt the need to mention it.

Back on topic, this is a good log, even though I don't really read every word of it. It's not really the right season for me, if you know what I mean, usually it's at the start of summer until the end of it where I actually become obsessed with PowerPros enough to read every log completely.

Sorry if I'm butting in, but there's no need to be rude.

But on topic, I really like this log! And I like The Royals as well, they may be pretty bad, but I still like them.

Yeah, cooldude hates me. I don't wanna hear that I bring that up all the time too.

On topic again, this is my (second) favorite log on this website. First is Ppfan's Japanese log.

:DD Thanks mac!
I. Am. Honored.

But I've gotta say, I need to improve the recap part of mine, I think ChiCubsFan does that well.
(Sorry for kinda going off topic)

Thank you everyone for all your kind comments. :D

To be honest, I have not read powerprosfan31's log, but I will do that now. I'm sure it's really good. My all time favorite log on this site was jacobye's Pirates log.

I'll have to read Jacobye's! I can't believe I haven't read that one yet.....

But thanks for reading mine (whenever you have the time)!

This forum has by far the tamest standards of rudeness on the entire internet.

Asking a question is rude, and they will avoid the question as well.

I'll answer your question, I actually don't know why I say "cousin." And I haven't even said it in a while (I believe). I don't know about maccrrash, but I don't really have a reason besides making it easy for him to know that I'm talking to him.

There you go. My answer.

I know, this site is FAR from rude, but I was just saying.

Sorry about that.

I just say it. It's like ritual of habit now. I said it when I was on the site at first, and now I just kinda say it. I'll try to cool it down a bit.

And, I'll go check about Jacobye's franchise right now! My recaps on my log kinda suck, so I'll have to use yours for inspiration.

Kansas City Royals (18-12) @ Toronto Blue Jays (11-19)
May 3, 2011

TORONTO -- The Royals lost to today as Gil Meche struggled against the Blue Jays lineup. Billy Butler provided a run for the Royals in the first with an RBI single, and John Buck made it a two-run lead with a solo shot to the opposite field in the second. Then, Meche's struggles started in the third. Jason Bay hit into a ground out that brought home a run from third. Then, Gregg Zaun belted a two-run double to give the Jays a 3-2 lead. Khalil Greene tied it up in the fourth with a solo home run, but the Blue Jays scored another three in the fifth. Lyle Overbay hit an RBI double, and Marco Scutaro ripped a two-run double for a three-run lead and six runs of Gil Meche as he left the game after that double. Leo Nunez and Luke Hochevar did a great job from the bullpen after Meche's departure as neither pitcher allowed a hit through the rest of the game.
