This looks interesting...

Why'd you let your best hitter go and not even replace him?

Jose Guillen will be turning 35 next season, and I didn't want to risk signing him to a a huge contract, and his abilities start depleting. I'm hoping to use Chris Conti, who I drafted last season as my starting right fielder for 2011.

Ugh, dude, sorry about the loss in the World Series. I'm looking forward to the next season, though, man!

Royals Sign Carlson, Camacaro

The Royals have signed left handed relief pitchers Jesse Carlson and Sergio Camacaro. They signed Carlson to a 1 yr/410 pt contract, and they signed Camacaro to a 1 yr/390 pt contract.

I wouldn't expect too much out of him. He's only at a mid-D in power, and I'm going to be using all of spring training to raise his contact.

Fine. If you post your updated roster I'll figure out who I want then.

Just trade for Jeff Francoeur or somebody and you'll be fine

I am going to attempt to revive this season mode log. I kind of left it at an odd place, in the middle of spring training. I should AT LEAST get to opening day and see how some of the new guys work out. Having school, cross country practice, and homework during the week, and cross country meets on the weekends, I have been unable to play. I will try to get this going again, though.

Spring Training 2011

After going quietly through the offseason, it has become clear that the Royals want to keep the same American League pennant winning team from 2010. They did sign two free agent relief pitchers in Jesse Carlson and Sergio Camacaro. Both have reported to the Royals spring training complex in hopes of proving their worth to play on the major league roster in 2011. With the loss of Jose Guillen during the offseason, the Royals hope rookie Chris Conti will be ready for the bigs by opening day to start in right field. Conti, who is just twenty-one years old, is fully aware of the high expectations of the Royals, and has been working hard all spring in hopes of fulfilling those expectations. As always, bullpen jobs are up for grabs during spring training. Knowing this, pitchers like John Finegan and Dewayne Basner are working hard, competing for a big league job. It should be a great spring leading up to another great Royals season here in 2011.

Kansas City Royals - 2011

The Royals are coming into 2011 with the same faces as last season. The only major loss of the offseason was right fielder Jose Guillen, who will be replaced by rookie Chris Conti. Also lost during the offseason was first baseman Ross Gload. Nick Johnson will switch from DH to first baseman, and Billy Butler will get his job back as the everyday designated hitter. The Royals start the season with a long, nine-game homestand, starting with the New York Yankees. It is sure to be another great season. The Royals plan to repeat as the American League champions, and hope to even win the World Series this time around.
