But at the same time, I see this site getting overrun by guys who think this is some chatroom, that we care about every little thing they say, who think they're funny. Not to mention the random ad bots that spam here.

I've ranted in the past about crap on here, and as much of a bad reaction that it might get (though I only do it when it's really necessary), I wouldn't have any regrets about calling people out on here, for everyone to see.

I mean, it's nice that you've made friends on here, but seriously, if you're not going to contribute anything worthwhile to hear about, then just go chat on facebook or some chatroom or something. Because personally, I don't give a crap about stuff that belongs on Twitter instead of a POWER PROS FORUM.

And if you thought THAT was a rant, just wait. If someone ends up holding the straw that broke this camel's back, they're getting it. Big time.
And I write for a hobby, so my rant will just be that much more amazing

Seriously. I haven't checked here often due to SimYard, but what I do see is just irritating, and frankly disappointing. I mean, to think I've met so many amazing people for it to end up like this, it frankly just pisses me off. I really want it to get better, but, man, I just don't know anymore. This site seems to have gone to hell since the series was outright cancelled. (Yes, I'm gonna call MLBPowerPros cancelled.) Even the new chat room hasn't helped. To be honest, the RPG is the only thing keeping me here at this point. I've tried to deal with the nonsense as best as I can, but I really do not think I can take it anymore. Anyways, any feelings I have towards this site have been mentioned by sjax/gocubs/jacobye.

And boy, I can't wait to see that rant you're storing up, sjax.

I'm agreeing with this. This site was absolutly amazing when I joined in April of 2009, where we all still loved the game and disscussed it. I check this site many times a day but I'm getting fed up with people treating this like some chatroom as these guys have said. I don't want to leave, but I may just have to.

I consider some mebers on this friends and I hope they all consider me the same. I want to keep in touch with all the ones I want to keep in touch with when this site meets its soon (yes i said soon) demise. In the words of jacobye, "This site turned into a kids playpen (see history of PPworld thread)"

And newbies, Sjax rants are epic if you aren't the subject of them, so beware to all that are on his bad side.

If I ever do leave this site for good, I'll let those I want to keep in touch with know. I'll PM them with my email that I don't give to stangers so we can keep in touch. And I hope that they'll write me back

I was just looking at the member's page and was appalled to see that at least 3 or 4 people joined a day from the spring of 08 to the fall of 08.

In the last 3 months an average of .34 people joined.
In March to the end of June of 08 we average 18 people a day.

The fall of 08 was a great time, with the big skills out of the way, it seemed like everyday people were coming in with new ways to get abilities.

Thats crazy I wonder what would of happened if PP 09 came out here.

Also I'm touched that people are staying on here for the RPG. I honestly haven;t been writing too good, not even close to my book I'm starting.

Look, we have our expectations after seeing former threads of great posters. the good times seem over but can still come alive. this message board is one of those memory things, it's a MESSAGE BOARD, but love to be apart of it. I don't want to see the site die, I want it to come back alive but I've waited for the last 13 months and have gotten nothing.

But really the thing is our new audience is young. We used to have a lot of older guys here and they're gone so the maturity has definably gone down but that's the point of being 10-15 years old.

It actually saddens me to see the old guys go. It's really nostalgic thinking of this site but really I wasn't active until about December 2008. So I wasn't even a part of the great stuff

and honestly NO ONE by themselves are ruining themselves. It's a group effort but really what are you guys supposed to do? everything will seem like spam when there's no power pros to talk about! Don't feel bad if you're mentioned in his rant(a lot of pressure on you now sjax

) but instead change the ways and it'll all be fine

I love the site, I hate the way it's gone down and when it comes down to it, it won't be the same

But a new legacy can be created one day

I agree with most that's been said here, as one of the oldest (in time at the forum, not actual age) still active members on the forum, it almost sickens me to go back and think of the golden age of this forum, everybody was active, and posted actual posts that other people cared about on a regular basis.

When the mods were active it brought a certain level of maturity to the forum, people were allowed to go off-topic for a few posts all in good fun, but it never got too far off track. The forum has pretty much lost all of it's charm since then, without mods, things can go off track easily in much more annoying ways. And a lot of the members don't even reach the age requirement of a normal internet forum. Most of the time you can tell, easily, by their obvious lack of maturity, I used to think age requirements were kind of stupid, but looking at some of the younger members here now, I can definitely understand it.

Honestly though, I find it kind of sad that more than half of the reason I want another Power Pros game is to see if Wyl would come back.

Great stuff guys, I agree with everything. This forum is certainly not what it used to be, but how could it? MLBPP08 was released two years ago. So to you new members, don't feel bad, you're still keeping this alive. If there's somebody to blame, it's 2K.

Myself, my posts per day have been slowly declining since about 2009, and I think in the near future, they will keep declining. I love reading season logs, the RPG is awesome, but the rest... some of us do have lives, you know :wink:

Also, I'm trying to convince my friend to get this game. He comes over all the time, and he LOVES Success Mode. We always do a success mode character, taking turns batting. He knows about the site too. He beat me in a game one time too. So, he's not a really bad player.
