Well I remember in my Pirates log(after it died), I played a season where I played a 1-game playoff with the Reds
the stupid part was that we were also tied for 1st in the wild card so all this did was decide the NL Central champion. I lost that game

also I played with an expansion team who beat the White Sox in a 1-game playoff

hmm and the REAL Padres were in the 1-game playoff for 2007 and lost :| so this is actually considered the 2nd straight 1-game playoff game for them

So you can't get the wild card even if you lose?

The Twins were in two straight 1-game playoffs.

Eckstein a tiebreaker hero as Padres head to the playoffs

October 2 -- In a season of unpredictable, the Padres are headed to the playoffs on a walk-off single by Eckstein in the 10th inning of this one-game playoff. The game didn't start well for Chris Young and Padres though as Stephen Drew hit a 1-2 pitch for a home run to lead off the game for the D-Backs and it made it 1-0 but in the 3rd the Padres would tie it on an RBI single by Scott Hairston. In the 4th inning, the D-Backs took a 3-1 lead on Young as Mark Reynolds hit a solo shot and Conor Jackson singled in a run to make it a 2-run game. The Padres battled through it and made it a 1-run game against Edwin Jackson in te 5th on an RBI single by Tony Gwynn Jr. But in the 6th inning, perhaps the 2008 NL MVP Adrian Gonzalez hit another big home run, a solo shot to tie the game at 3-3 in the 6th inning. The game would end up going into the 10th inning where with a runner on 2nd and 1 out, David Eckstein singled to center field to win it for the San Diego Padres. In one game they managed to redeem themselves from last years one-game playoff loss in 13 innings, they won the NL west and are going to compete for the World Series as they head into the playoffs at 88-75.

Padres September In Review

The Padres went 16-10 in September and then won the one-game playoff game against the Diamondbacks in October to go 17-10 down the stretch to win the National League West division. It was a great month as they scored 131 runs, which was a little over the average for each month this season for the Padres but wasn't average was the Padres pitching this month. They were amazing giving up just 89 runs overall, the 2nd fewest amount of runs given up were 108. This lowered their ERA down to 4.10, best in the big leagues. They got a spectacular month from their rotation as Young lowered his ERA from 4.10 to 3.91, Latos lowered his 0.64 points to 4.03 and Garland and Hill's ERA lowered pretty well too. Bell blew only 1 save in September in a very up and down season for him despite getting 42 saves he blew 7. So at 88-75 overall they finish their season with a playoff spot. Bring on the Mets!

No, it didn't work. Isn't there some way to attach a video file just directly on here?
