Really? Tigers win that one, in my opinion.

Roy Oswalt waives his no-trade clause to be traded to Phillies... :(

God, MLB is turning into the NBA! Philly has what, 3-4 aces now. Don't even get me started on the Yankees if they pulled off the trade fro Lee.

I like the logic. "I am a good pitcher, so why would I want to pitch for this AA-level team when I can be remembered for bringing a great team to the World Series?" Why Cliff Lee and Roy Oswalt aren't on the M's or the 'Stros.

Who were the players that the other team got? Let me guess: *sighs* prospects?

I like your logic. Oswalt won't be known for leading the Phils to the playoffs, if they even make it there. He already has Halladay, Hamels and Blanton to help him out, not to mention the Phils lineup. Lee went to a team that needed him badly in the Rangers to lead their rotation. The Yankees didn't need him in any way. I agree with the idea of getting away from bad teams, but personaly, I wouldn't to go to a team with players comperable to me (Halladay's, CC's) rather than a contending team without a solidified ace (Rangers before Lee, Twins, etc.)

Even with all those guys, they are still in second place. On another note, the Brewers are 9 games back of the Cards and Reds. They gave me too much hope when they won the first game of the series, but then proceeded to get crushed, 4-12, and 2-10.

Nick Swisher (RF/1B) of the Yankees pitched an inning last year. That was also a 1-2-3 inning. Oh, good times...

Why would they use positision players to pitch? I've only seen that when the cards played the mets and the game lasted 20 innings...

Because there getting beat so badly that they want to save the bullpen from being over worked, so they take a postion player to help.

Or, they run out of pitchers. That almost happened in the All-Star game last year. But you're right too, as that's probably the more logical reason.

That would be pretty cool to be jogging into the outfield and have the manager tell you

Quote:
Your gonna pitch this inning.

In MLBPP08, D-Backs IF Augie Ojeda is pretty good for a RP in season mode. I usually convert him to a pitcher in ST, then work on some breaking balls.
