well instead of gaining a game on the Yankees and Rays the Red Sox decide to lose in 10 innings to the stink Oakland A's

It seems like the entire Major League is full of surprises.

White Sox, Rangers, Braves, Reds, Padres, all are unexpected division leaders.

Reds, Rangers and Padres, yes. Braves and White Sox, not quite as much.

The AL central is constantly one of the most balenced divisions in baseball. Beside the Royals, everyone has a legit shot most years. The White Sox are one of those teams, so it isn't that suprising to me.

The Braves, while not nessicalirly going to win the division, were predicted to do pretty well this year. They have done well, though they exceded expectations.

well the way the White Sox started its a surprise they are where they are right now. I don't know I just thought of the Rangers as the best in AL West but they are a surprise

I almost want to make predictions for the teams in the postseason, but that would be absolutely wrong

I'll predict it!
Yankees
Tigers*
Rangers
Red Sox
Braves
Reds
Padres
Cubs* (The epic 10.5-game comeback WILL happen, people)

*This prediction is 100% biased

THE RED SOX MAKE THE PLAYOFFS :yay:

I'll do my predictions, one of the picks will be biased and can happen. With the Red Sox getting Buchholz and Beckett back within the next 3 day(Buchholz today Beckett tommorow) and then some offense before the month ends hopefully and we're in business

AL East
Yankees

AL Central
White Sox

AL West
Rangers

AL WC
Red Sox

NL East
Braves

NL Central
Cardinals

NL West
Padres

NL WC
Giants

so that would mean:

ALDS:

Red Sox vs Rangers
White Sox vs Yankees

NLDS:

Giants vs Braves
Cardinals vs Padres

Eh I'll wait til the teams are set to fully predict the playoffs

You can't REALLY predict the standings until after the trade deadline. I still don't know if the Cubs are buying or selling :?

Wow, really? Fourteen runs yesterday, and today they ruin numerous chances to win on a walk-off... I hope this is just one bad day and that they will get back to that comeback tomorrow.

I'm sorry but... What the *(censored)* Red Sox??

Lackey has a no hitter with 2 outs in the 8th and it gets broken up and there's a 6-1 lead into the 9th. And inexplicably Delcarnen and Papelbum give up 5 runs. Bill Hall made a terrible throw on a DP ball that would have ended the game but both runs score to tie it with 2 outs in the 9th

It's going to extras but I'm furious, how do you let this one get away? I've given up on Boston, it'll take a miracle to get within 5 games of the Yankees at this point

Usually after the Red Sox blow a game like this I watch til the end but this time I stopped watching.

But despite everything, the Red Sox won  8-6 in 13 innings on a 2-run double by Eric Patterson

I know everyone is posting in the other 2010 season thread but I post in this one because I don't like the 2009 and 2010 season threads combined.

But the Angels have acquired RHP Dan Haren from the Diamondbacks. The main guy they sent over to Arizona was Joe Saunders

Brewers won today and are on a four game winning streak after sweeping the Nationals, and are now going into a home series against the tied for first Reds, who they are only 8 games behind. 6 more wins and we're at .500!! :)

hey if they sweep then the Brewers have as good of chance as teams like the Red Sox(they blew up today) and Angels. But you'd have to have the Cardinals lose a few too.

It's a longshot but hey you gotta believe :D Thats what I try to do with the Red Sox

Garza just threw a no hitter for the Rays.
