ugh it's almost as tough as slowly watching a team that within 0.5 games of the Yankees just a few weeks ago continue to downfall because of all these darn injuries. I want to say wait til everyone gets back but we'll probably be 10 games back by the time they all return

haha gotta love the reaction from the Cubs fans. Since I've started to follow the whole MLB(not just the Red Sox) in 2008, for whatever reason I can't get over the fact that the Cubs aren't like, good since it was kind of impressionable to think they were elite after 2008. So I can't think of the Cubs as a bad for whatever reason. Part of me oddly thinks they can make a run

for me I'm getting desperate and I'm starting to watch Rays and Yankees games on MLB Extra inning to cheer for them to lose. But it's nothing if the Red Sox can't win. It's just terrible to be in the AL East, we can be the 3rd best team in the majors and miss the playoffs by 7 games

Yeah, that seems like an unfair division. The Yankees, Red Sox, and Rays could all make the playoffs if they were in three separate divisions, but since they are all in the same division, only two at the most can make the playoffs.

well I just saw the Rays lose to the Orioles and the Yankees lost. THESE are the type of nights where the Red Sox need to hold a 4-run lead against the Athletics, but they can't do that. It's going to be GREAT to have Pedroia, Martinez, Beckett, Buchholz and Ellsbury to come back. This offense has no spark without Ellsbury and Pedroia at the top getting hits and stealing bases(especially Ellsbury). The job for them is to stay in it now and they can be a top 3 team in the majors when they all get back

But I'm still amazing at the Padres. They have a good lead with no offense. This is the first time I've ever seen a team do it all with pitching and their main guys have been Mat Latos, Jon Garland and Clayton Richard, 3 guys that you wouldn't call elite that are leading this club. Their bullpen has been amazing too. Luke Gregorson, Mike Adams, Tim Stauffer, Ryan Webb and Heath Bell have been great to amazing this season. And they need all this pitching with Gonzalez the only good hitter in the lineup. everyone but Gonzo in their starting lineup is hitting under .300 and 8 home runs is the 2nd highest on the team

I'm also impressed with the Reds but it looks like it'll be tough for them to hold on
