I'm thinking of doing more short game summaries, instead of not giving summaries at all on some games I play.

Successes beat Marlins 3-2 at home:

Although Patrick would not ever directly say so, it seems he definitely does want Alvin to stay on the team, as he homered, eventually leading to Willy Legend getting the win and improving the team record. Zero got the save, striking out 2 and allowing a home run. Hendrickson took the loss for the Marlins.

Shorter summaries are good. But remember, you don't have to do a summary for EVERY game. I skipped a few with Minnesota, and I will with Cleveland, too.

Baseball game eventually ends! Successes beat the Mets on the road!

Going into extra innings with a 1-1 tie, every Mets batter was looking for a walkoff, and they definitely had plenty of chances in this 17 inning game, but the Successes relievers were dominant, shutting them down a whole 8 extra innings. In the top of the 17th inning, Morgan got on base at first with 1 out, after two wild pitches he stood at third base. With Slow at the plate, all he had to do was hit a fly ball somewhere; he hit one to center field, shallow. After the catch Morgan was sick of how long the game had gone on, and he sprinted for home plate, not the fastest runner, he still managed to slide around the catchers tag to give them a 2-1 lead. Zero closed out the bottom of the 17th for the save, giving Slow the win. Burgos took the loss for the Mets. Robin, who gave up the Mets only run, went out with elbow pains, and was put on the 15 day DL.

After the game:
Successes record: 17-22, 5th place.
Mets record: 23-15, 1st place.

I think I'm going to be getting back to this soon enough, but it's really frustrating trying to win games with this team, if I play on a high difficulty it's like every game's the 07 superstar game.

That 17 inning game I played was on a much lower difficulty than I ever play on.

Strangely enough, on my PowerPros team, I played on pretty much the highest difficulty, and even most of my worst hitters still had no trouble batting over .300.

Charlotte extends win streak to 4 games, completing 4 game sweep of Mets, Alvin strikes out 12.

Against the Mets on the road, Charlotte pitched phenomenally, facing 28 batters in a 1 hit game, striking out 12, all struck out by Alvin, who got the win in his 1st start, pitching 6 innings, getting a 1-0 win. Alvin improved his record to 3-1, Slow had his first save, as Zero was still resting, Feliciano took his first loss for the Mets, he now has an 0-1 record. Marvin scored the only run for the Successes, getting on by drag bunt, stealing second, advancing to third on a groundout, and being driven in by Frank on a clutch base hit.

After the game:
Successes record: 20-22, 4th place.
Mets record: 23-18, 1st place.

If I resume this log later, does it seem fair that everyone without an agent is eligible for trading without a days notice?

Based on the lack of responses, it seems I could probably trade the players with agents just fine too.

Alvin and Marvin don't really care whether or not you trade them.

I just now realized I forgot Gil...

Why didn't any of you people tell me?! I could have restarted, he would have helped the pitching rotation, I'd have another solid starter.

*Sigh* Well, it's too late for that now, unless someone was good enough at success mode to make him perfectly, then I could put him in...

Actually, I'm pretty sure it's impossible to make an exact copy, but really, I'll settle for something close if someone wants to make him, you'd probably have to leave out Star and breakup DP unless we know how to get that one.

I'll try my best to make a carbon copy of him, but it will take a while.

That's fine, I guess, it kinda depends how long, if it's going to take years I could make him myself. :P

Anyway, next update...

Win streak continues to 5 in 6-3 Charlotte win.

Against the Orioles on the road, in interleague play, Willy Legend pitched adequately enough to come up with a win, having no perfect innings, not a lot of strikeouts, but only allowing 3 runs through 8 innings to get the win. Zero got the save, although he still wasn’t fully rested, it didn’t show out there. Creak, who bats second as the DH in interleague play hit a 2 run home run to the opposite field, his first home run of the year, which turned out to be the winning runs in the end. Burres took the loss for the Orioles.

After the game:
Successes record: 21-22, 2.5 games behind, 1 game away from .500
Orioles record: 20-23, 7.5 games behind.

4 way NL East tie broken by Phillies 5-2 win over Charlotte:

In Alvin’s second start, he didn’t do as well as he did in his first, pitching 5.1 innings and allowing 5 runs. The successes could not recover from that deficit, Terry homered to try to help, but it wasn’t enough as Charlotte lost hold of first place (or close enough to it) in the division. Tom got the start at Catcher as Patrick needed rest, or so the manager insisted. Moyer pitched a complete game and got the win.

After the game:
Successes record: 24-24, 1 game behind.
Phillies record: 25-23, tied with Mets for 1st.

Alvin's pitching stats to this point: 3.34 ERA, 29.2 innings pitched, 3-2 record,0-4 in saves, 3 holds, 25 strikeouts, 8 walks.

At this point, Alvin's agent will have to let me know if he still demands a trade, and how well the team he's traded to must be doing.

Charlotte signs 3 players from Free Agency.

The Charlotte Successes, probably feeling a little more depth couldn't hurt, decided to check out the free agency to see who was available, for the most part the place was cleaned out, but the Charlotte Successes signed three players anyway. They signed 23 year old pitcher Yorman Bazardo to a 400 point contract, for 1 year. They signed 25 year old pitcher Enrique Gonzalez to a 390 point contract for the year. And, last but not least, they signed 19 year old first base prospect Malik Aiporlani to a 1 year, 410 point contract. It is unknown what will be done with these players, whether they will be used for depth in the minor leagues and backups in case of injury, or if the manager has greater plans for these players. Successes fans will just have to wait to find out.
