Trade Rumors

How does this trade sound?

Twins Get:

Skip Shumaker (OF)

Cardinals Get:

Jesse Crain (RP)

Success Rate: ***

I think this is a fair deal. The premise behind the deal is to either send to AAA or trade Craig Monroe (or a bullpen arm like Livan Hernandez) and bring Shumaker as a backup outfielder. After Carlos Gomez, our next CF is Denard Span, hence needing another CF.

I think you have enough outfielders. You don't really need any more. (Kubel, Cuddyer, Gomez, Young, Span, Monroe) Crain pretty good and cheap RP, I think that he's worth more to your team than Schumaker. And by the way, great job on the San Fran trade. You've really improved the pitching a lot.

Yes, I have enough outfielders, if you look at it as only one position. But Gomez is the only CF in the majors. What happens if he gets hurt? Span's all F's and E's. It just seems like a better idea to make Span the minor-league, injury-prevention OF and not the backup CF.

The reasoning behind Crain is that he's the best bullpen arm that I'm never going to use. I already have a pretty big 'pen, and I don't need another reliever. If I did, Korecky would do me fine.

try offering one of your corner outfielders instead.

How about Monroe for Schumaker and cash?

Twins (42-38) vs Brewers (50-29)

Twins Lose Control, Game, Central Lead

MINNESOTA—Two errors in the third inning gave the Brewers four runs, and awful fielding and baserunning would cost the Twins the game. They now stand one game behind the Tigers in an incredible AL Central race (minus the Indians, of course). Here are the standings, followed by game statistics:

Tigers.........43-38 (——)
Twins.........42-39 (1 GB)
White Sox...42-39 (1 GB)
Royals........42-40 (1.5 GB)
Indians.......34-48 (9.5 GB)

Score: 6-4
W: G. Shields (1-1)
L: Cain (8-5)
S: Gagne (25)
MVP: Braun
HR: Kubel (12), Fielder (20), B. Hall (7), Hardy (9)

MIN

Cain (L): 5 IP, 5 R, 1 ER, 4 Ks
Cannizaro: 4 IP, 1 R, 7 K
Mauer: 2-4, 2 2B, 3 RBI
Kubel: 2-4, HR, K

MIL

G. Shields (W): 7 IP, 3 R, K
Fielder: 2-5, HR, 2 R, K
Braun: 2-5, RBI, R, 2 Ks
B. Hall: 1-5, HR, 2 RBI, 2 Ks

June In Review

Well, we might as well start with the good news: Bobby Korecky was named Rookie of the month. And now, the bad news that came from a 10-17 month:

Tigers..........45-38 (——)
Royals.........43-41 (2.5 GB)
Twins..........42-41 (3 GB)
White Sox...42-41 (3 GB)
Indians.......36-48 (9.5 GB)

Yes, the Tigers have unleashed another reign of terror (or money) on the AL Central.

Player stats later or tomorrow.

I'm just sayin…not that I would EVER do it, but…I was fooling around in the trade screen and, on a whim, I wanted to see how many stars I would get for a straight, no-strings-attached, Morneau for Prince Fielder (MIL) trade. I got three. Do you believe that? The Prince is better and cheaper. It's not realistic, and I won't do it unless practically EVERYBODY on the forums wants me to…but isn't it just interesting to think about?

 I LOVE to do that. It's so easy to trade in this game, just look at all my rip off trades in my A's log. My friend that avidly play MLB2k10 can not believe all the trades I've done.

Only reason I haven't done it is because I know Morneau's agent (I forget who, and I'm too lazy to check) is probably going to let me hear it :|

Well, I just checked the first post, and according to that, he is Morneau's agent.

Oh, duh. Doesn't mean I'm gonna do it, though. As much as I want to…

 MY IDENTIDY IS REVEALED!!!

Morneau says if you do the trade he wants one of his buds to come with him, he likes Jason Kubel. He says you can get Ryan Broaun as well to be your DH!!! He is against the trade though. As much as he love Millwake Beer, he like Minnesota more. his daughters really like the Mall of America!

Still on the proverbial fence with this. For now, tell Morneau that I said, "BEER!!!!!"

Trade Rumors

Kubel is gonna blow a gasket when he hears this.

As suggested by Justin Morneau, I tried Kubel and Morneau for Fielder and Braun. That also came up three stars.

It's a win-win, and here's why: Kubel and Morneau go to a team with great playoff odds halfway through the season. We get two awesome power hitters. Fielder lives up to his name, too, and Braun can DH.

Tell me if this is good. Scratch that, tell me it IS good so I can do it. Pleasepleasepleaseplease????? Oh, and I hear the Milwaukee beer ain't bad either, Kubel!
