Live By the Bomb, Die by the Bomb

Ben Stomper

The Oakland Athletics lost to the Chicago White Sox today, 23-10. The White Sox hit god knows how many homeruns today, as the A's used everyone in the bullpen but there Lefty O'Flarherty and Closer Street. Matt Morris lasted a grand total of TWO innings and picked up the loss. Frank Thomas took the lead for most carrer RBIs today, hitting a two run homer for the lead. Tomas Perez hit a homerun also, starting in place of a purple faced Bobby Crosby.

In other news, Matt Morris demanded a trade. GM Scott Eagle responded by saying the deal was a ready done and to pack his bags cause he was heading to Boston. Everyone in the locker room looked shocked and then Eagle went quietly over to Mike Sweeney's locker and talked to him for a minute. Sweeney then shook Eagle's hand, packed his things, and followed Matt Morris out the door to their game in Boston.

OAKLAND GM DOES IT AGAIN
GM Eagle pulls another Blockbuster Trade, this time with the Red Sox

Ben Stomper

The Oakland Athletics acquired three players from the Boston Red Sox today in what many belive to be the trading Maverick of a GM's best Trade yet. The A's recived Kevin Youkilis, Hideki Okajima, and Jon Lester from the Red Sox in return for Mike Sweeney and Matt Morris. The GM listen to his fans and got another big bat in the lineup for the A's. Youkilis will bat 5th and wear the number 21 with the A's. Jon Lester takes over the #4 spot in the rotation for Matt Morris. Kirk Saarloos was sent down to AAA Sacremento to make room for Okajima, who will be the Left handed set-up man.

Ok, it looks like I could use some help with the Pitching Staff right? Well... thanks to remembering Chifan's huge steal for Lincecum and Cain, I have a trade up right now, intrest is Three Stars, should I go for it?

OAK gets
Lincecum SP
Cain SP

SF gets
Gaudin SP
Harden SP

Also, we won our first game against the Indians in extras  . Thomas was the hero with the go ahead homer in the top of the Tenth. Street got the Win, Duchserer the save.

Trade still being requested, the Giants haven't reponded yet. But if the trade goes through, yes, you are the agents for them.

Figured I'd give all my agents an update on my liking to their clients.

Dish: The Big Hurt has delivered, becoming the best #3 hitter in the league. He's hitting over .400 with 18 big flies and 41 rbis. Never gonna let this guy go.

PPJr: Street, good for what he's done so far, though I'm still mad about the Blown Save on opening day. Hill, not bad, looks to become the #5 starter if the Lincecum/Cain deal goes through. Maholm, pitched awful in his debut, but he'll be given time. He's going to be keeping his spot in the rotation if the current deal goes through.

BBB: Bay is batting around .300 with 4 dingers and about 19 rbis (forget exactly how many right at this moment). He's been moved up to the #2 spot in the batting order with the arrival of Youkilis.

LB714: Chavez is doing pretty good right now. Not as much power as I would like but he is batting around .450, so I can't really complain  .

Sjax: Blanton is on Thin Ice right now. If the trade with the Giants goes through, he will take over the 6th spot in the rotation. I may trade him later for someone, though I don't know who yet.

On a side note, after reading over M_a_L's Nats log A LONG time ago, I've decided to hire a trade advisor/Scouting Director. Job is up for graps. If you intrested, PM me with AT LEAST THREE possible soultions to these positions I want to trade for with my current roster: Catcher, Shortstop, and Center Field. Each must come with suggestions of players to go for and a final offer on what YOU think is the best way to go about it..

Can I be Youkilis' agent?

EDIT: Come to think of it, I'll take Lester, too.

The Angels have done a blockbuster trade with the Astros. They have sent outfielder Gary Matthews Jr. to the Astros for shortstop Miquel Tejada.

Oh dear, I feel like such an idiot. I guess when I was setting up the settings for the season, I fooled around with the opponents Lock-On scheme. I found out today that it was left on BEST TRY!!!! That explains the huge surplus of power against me. I switched it back to Normal, my usual setting, and I blame that particular setting for my 1-19 start.

Hill, Street, Pitch Marvously against the Twins

Ben Stomper

Today the Oakland A's picked up their second win of the year, winning 4-2 against the Minnesota Twins. Jason Bay had 3 rbis today with a 3R HR in the 3rd. It was almost as if by magic, the Twins had lost the power stroke that other teams had all year. Pop ups were actually, Popups! The ball wasn't crushed every time it came off the bat! The Pitchers actually could get outs! Speaking of Pitchers, Rich Hill pitched 7 innings of one run ball today, allowing 10 hits and striking out seven in a winning effort. Huston Street picked up the save after pitching a perfect 9th to close the game.

Hill and Street are happy with their performances, and now are looking forward to seeing the team win more games.

PPjr: I'm glad Hill and Street are pleased with their performances. Street got his second save today against the Twins and he has tomarrow off against the Mariners.

On another note, I thought of this trade and wanted to get you guys opinon on it before I request it.

Oakland gets

Dan Haren SP

Orlando Hudson 2B

Eric Byrnes LF/CF

$3.91 million (1 point=$100,000)

Arizona gets

Joe Blanton SP

Chirs Denorfia CF

Mark Ellis 2B

Reasoning behind this trade: Denorfia just hasn't been doing well in Center. So, I trade Denorfia for Byrnes and get a new lead off man. Ellis is in the deal to make it work, so I get Hudson to come over and play second for me. Then, I wanted Dan Haren, so I threw in Blanton as well. The money is the difference of the salaries between teams. Intrest is Three Stars.
