Oh ya and you guys vote for nlcs MVP and based on those votes I'll try to decide because it's hard to decide on nlcs Mvps because they combine the nlcs and nlds stats
but vote based on what you've seen from games such as clutch hits and stuff(you can just say what u want here)

and probably Anibal Sanchez

but I looked at the game 1 lineups and it's so wierd

when I played them in June they had Podsednick in CF, Ramirez at SS and Quentin in left

but now since their NL lineup is different. Podsednick in in left, Kotsay plays CF but Rollins plays SS, they got him as a free agent and didn't really use him.. It's wierd how ramirez doesn't start at 2B while rollins can start at SS. Instead Getz(D,E) plays 2B

It was kind of like with the mets starting Maza at 1st base in games 1 and 2 and 6(all at new York) but Gary Sheffield started at 1B in games 3-5(all at Pittsburgh)

World Series Preview - Pittsburgh Pirates Vs Chicago White Sox

ImageImageImage

This is set to be another good World Series as the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Chicago White Sox are set to face off in the 2011 World Series. The Pirates are new to this and haven't been here since 1979 but the White Sox won the World Series in 2005 and 2009 and have won 4 straight division titles while having the best record since 2008 in the AL. In the NLCS the Pirates played the team with the most runs in the NL and 2nd most runs in the majors, well now they have to play the team with the most runs in the majors. The White Sox will use free agent pickup Jimmy Rollins at shortstop hitting 3rd, Kotsay will play Center Field, Podsednick moves to left and the veteran Paul Konerko will play 1st base, all of these moves will apply for the 1st two games of this series as at home they've used Ramirez at shortstop, Quentin in left and Podsednick in center but they will mix it up in the 1st two games at PNC Park. But the White Sox took 2 of 3 from the Pirates at the beginning of June at US Cellular Field and they have a great lineup. Podsdnick(.286, 3 HR, 32 SB) is the igniter in the White Sox lineup, same with Getz(.275, 6 HR) but they have a lot of power too. Thome hit 41 homeruns and drove in 133. Josh Field(Great Hart) hit 36 homeruns and drove in 125 in his breakout season, Dye hit 36 homeruns, Konerko hit 27 while hitting .322, Quentin hit 25 while driving in 110 and Alexei Ramirez(not starting game 1 or 2) drove in 99 runs while hitting .294 with 18 homeruns to sum up this lineup and not to mention Pierzynski and Rollins(who will start games 1 and 2), their pitching is somewhat different though. Their pitching had a respectable 4.56 ERA and its led by Jake Peavy but it was a team that used a few starters to make spot starts so they all didn't have great innings numbers and their rotation was Peavy, Buerhle, Floyd, Danks, and Charlie Haeger. Despite the stats not looking special, this is a good looking rotation with their bullpen led by Dotel(3.10), Wasserman(3.53), Thornton(4.19), Linebrink(4.82) and of course closer Bobby Jenks who had a 2.22 ERA and was 30-32 in save chances. It should be a series to see if the pitching heavy Pirates can stop the White Sox bats.

Pitching Comparision

Chicago White Sox

SP - Peavy : 12-4, 2.08 ERA
SP - Buerhle : 14-7, 3.70 ERA
SP - Danks : 9-7, 4.03 ERA (Game 1 Starter)
SP - Floyd : 9-12, 5.71 ERA
SP - Haeger : 8-5, 5.34 ERA

Pittsburgh Pirates

SP - Sanchez : 16-6, 2.87 ERA (Game 1 Starter)
SP - Cook : 13-7, 2.66 ERA
SP - Duke : 11-7, 3.47 ERA
SP - Maholm : 8-11, 4.26 ERA
SP - Karstens : 9-8, 4.97 ERA

Vintage Sanchez Comes Through For Pirates In Homerun Fest

October 23 -- The Pirates for the first time this postseason have won the opener of a series and Sanchez continues his fantastic postseason with 7 strong innings. The Pirates scored first off of Sox starter John Danks(3.00 ERA) in the 2nd inning when Cedeno beat out a potential double play ball to bring a run from 3rd base. But the White Sox took the lead in the 4th inning when Jermaine Dye hit a go-ahead 2 run homerun to left to give Chicago a 2-1 lead. Jayson Werth came through in the 6th inning of a 2-1 game and tied it with a homerun to left field off of John Danks and a few hitters later, Garrett Jones homered for the second straight game to give the Pirates the lead just like that. Ikari was coming into today with 1 homerun, a .174 average and hit a big homerun in the 8th inning to chase Danks out of the game and take a 4-2 lead. The Pirates showed how much they wanted this game when with 2 outs in the 8th, they took out Mike Zagurski and sent in Street to get the final 4 outs of the game while retiring Konerko to end the 8th inning, and then got the final three outs for his 4th save in the last 5 postseason games and give Pirates a 1-0 World Series lead.

You have alot of hope for me :D

Thanks for the support. It'll be tough to face Peavy and Buehrle and maybe even Haeger because Im up and down trying to hit the knuckleball

but going back to US cellular and then facing Quentin instead of Kotsay and facing Thome instead of a pitcher will be tough

thome had 2 homeruns vs me in a game log I did against the white sox earlier this year

Errors Cost Pirates As Chicago Ties Series at One

October 24 -- On a day that Zach Duke was better than Jake Peavy, the Pirates failed to capitalize and two errors really hurt them. It started in the 1st inning with one on and 2 outs and Ikari bobbled the ball at 3rd base so 2 runners were on and that error gave Jermaine Dye a chance and he homered in his 2nd straight world series game to go ahead 3-0. But the Pirates actually got to Peavy, a 2-run single by Garrett Jones in 3rd inning made it 3-2 and Mike Fontenot tied it in the 7th inning with a sacrifice fly scoring Jeff Salazar who doubled earlier in the inning. But the Pirates unraveled in the 8th when so far postseason hero Mike Fontenot went out to catch a ball with the bases loaded and he dropped the ball on the run to score 2 runs and make it 6-3 after Konerko hit an RBI single earlier in the inning. But the Pirates showed fight when Amezaga made it 4-5 this postseason with a 2-run single with 2 outs in the 8th inning when Ikari decided to bunt 2 runners over and so it was 5-4. But the game ended when the hot Garrett Jones grounded out to Jenks to continue his postseason of scoreless baseball and send the White Sox to Chicago with a tied World Series.

Odds And Ends - Series Back To Chicago

The Pirates will go back to Chicago with a 1-1 series tie. The Game 3 matchup is set to be Mark Buehrle Vs Aaron Cook. Anibal Sanchez pitched game 1 and won and Jake Peavy won game 2, both aces were able to win in games 1 and 2 and the second best pitchers on the staff will pitch game 3 in another good matchup. The DH is back for the next 3 games, Steve Pearce will DH, Werth will play right field and Amezaga will start in left field for at least game 3, he is 4-5 with 3 RBIs this postseason. The lineup changed alot from games 1 and 2 as well. Quentin will play left field now, Podsednick to Center field moving Mark Kotsay out, Thome will be DHing and Alexei Ramirez will play shortstop

Dye's Sensational World Series Continues With Walk-Off Homerun

October 26 -- The Pirates had no answer for Jermaine Dye and Mark Buerhle as the Pirates fall behind 2 games to 1 in this World Series. Aaron Cook and Mark Buehrle matched pitch for pitch through 8 innings while Mark Buehrle went all 9 innings for the White Sox and Aaron Cook went 8 strong. If it wasn't for Buerhle's shutout in his impressive effort, this wouldn't have set up a chance for Jermaine Dye in the bottom of the 9th. He had 5 RBI's and 2 homeruns this series and he homered off of Kevin Gregg with 2 on to give him the walk-off three run homerun and give the White Sox a 2-1 series lead. We all know who the MVP for the World Series is if Chicago wins, Jermaine Dye is 3-12 this world series, except with 3 homeruns and 8 RBI's, all impressive as he has come up big in all 3 games for the White Sox this series.

Kevin Gregg feels terrible and would like a chance to redeem himself before the World Series is over.

White Sox One Win Away As Podsednick's Throw Caps Classic Game Four

October 27 -- The White Sox are now one win away from being world champions as they barely hold on against the Pirates. Mike Fontenot had a big day at the plate and he homered in the 1st inning to go ahead 1-0. The White Sox exploded later on though, Jim Thome hit his 1st world series homerun in 4th inning to tie the game and later A.J Pierzysnki hit a go-ahead RBI single to go ahead 2-1 in the 4th inning. But Alexei Ramirez gave the White Sox and Gavin Floyd a comfy 5-1 lead in the 5th inning with a 3-run homerun, his first of the world series but Ryan Doumit made it closer with a 2-run homerun in the top of the 6th but that would be evaporated in the bottom of the 6th with a 2-run homerun by Carlos Quentin to make it 7-4. Garrett Jones kept the Pirates in it in the 8th inning with a 2-run homerun and it was another 1 run game. It seemed over completely in the 9th inning with 2 outs. But Mike Fontenot hit a double off the left field wall, it was close to gone, and so he was the tying run. The game looked tied up when Jayson Werth singled to Center field. Scott Podsednick charged the ball, fired a good throw from home and stopped the tying run from scoring and giving Chicago a 3 Games to 1 lead with 1 win away from a championship.
