Braun and Brewers Repeat as NL Central Champs

The magical run for the Pirates is over after an 8-2 loss in Miller Park. The Brewers got to Maholm early and Braun's grandslam was enough for the win. The Brewers even went back to back in the 8th to add on to their lead and Ikari flew out to Cameron to end the game, end the Pirates great run and even end the Cardinals and Astros playoff hopes. Nobody saw the Brewers coming out and doing this but they did so after the Cardinals, Astros and Pirates fell apart in September. The Marlins also won the wild card by a few games

WP: Gallardo (14-9) | LP: Maholm (9-13)
HR: Braun 2(27,28) Fielder(32)

Doumit wants to work on his power. He thinks he hit too little home runs this year. He does like his average. And I speak on behalf of the agents when i say this...

What are the team's final stats?

yep. maybe this was a curse? I went 10-18, lost the last 6 games to the brewers. Amezaga let the winning run of the first game go through his legs and cedeno added it on with another, and ryan braun killed me in the finale. what a disaster

and doumit was a dissapointment this year, he has C power and 3 trj now but he somehow got B contact so I need a major rebound

stats and year in review and playoffs next

Pirates Year In Review - Pirates Shock MLB but finish dissapointed

What a year I guess you could say. The Pirates finally broke their under .500 streak but couldn't make it to the postseason. The Pirates were actually below .500 in April but the 20-8 May changed their season and gave them great hope. The Central race was supposed to be Cardinals, Astros and Pirates but the Brewers had a hot September and watched the other 3 collapse to win the NL Central by 1 game over Pittsburgh and St. Louis. Well lets start with the bad. First of all the Pirates went 10-18 in September and lost the last 6 games to the Brewers, Cedeno was a huge dissapointment and Doumit didn't put up his potential numbers and Hart didn't pitch well at all but had a good record for his ERA. One problem towards the finish was fatique, Buck, Doumit, Jones and McCutchen were all fatigued often at the end which affected the team but hey lets get to the good. Garrett Jones put up career numbers hitting 29 homeruns and driving in 115, Karstens was dominant this year and can be expected to pitch more innings in the future, and most important JoeL Hanrahan. He came into the year as a committe closer and came out an all star with the best ERA in the majors for closers with 40+ saves. But in the end, there will be higher expectations in 2010.

NL Central Standings

Milwaukee Brewers | 87-75

Pittsburgh Pirates | 86-76

St. Louis Cardinals | 86-76

Houston Astros | 83-79

Cincinatti Reds | 82-80

fontenot would like to practice contact as long as his fielding doesn't lessen his chances of keeping his position.

We have by far the best bullpen in the league. We need to improve our offense and our starting pitching. Now that we are contenders, I think that we should consider making some win-now radical changes. - Andrew McCutchen

I made his fielding a little better, F arm and D fielding I think but he'll be my 2B. He had about 14 steals too and is one point away from C power

I dont really feel like it, I posted his ERA which is always important but his W-L might be messed up because he was a relief pitcher too

And no contract renewals with you guys this year, maybe next year but this year I'll decide the pay
