I heard somewhere that on the Wii version, repeatedly pressing B+Z alternately makes the baserunner goes faster. Is this true? Does it also work for PP 07? If not, is there some other way to make the runner go faster?

I doubt it’s true. When hitting and running the bases, standard SPD and special abilities Grt IF HTR, Stealing 4, Baserunning 4, and are the only things that impact the time it takes a player to get from point A to point B. When in the field, SPD, FLD, Aggressive FLD and possibly Gold Glove all help to speed the player up.

I do this all the time for both 07 and 08, and it seems to help.

How do you know it helps? Maybe it is all in your head. I can't tell.

I notice when I press those buttons, the players seem to leave more dust behind.

Consulted the manual, it mentions it in baserunning both years.

I stand corrected. Wonder what it is for PS2.

It'd probably be L and R something, but I don't have the PS2 manual.

Yep, you can use any or all of the 4 shoulder buttons boost speed.

Does anyone know what button it would be for Wii Classic Controller? I use the X button (Which is the steal button), but I'm not sure if that's it.

I checked the manual for baserunning controls and it doesn't mention running faster on the classic or gamecube controller.
