Milledge decided he kinda likes Pittsburgh after all. He doesn't want to be traded. On the other hand, Doumit now demands a trade to a contending team.

thats the spirit! (except pignattiello is a AAA pitcher pretty much)

Cedeno won player of the week though , he hit .478 which must've been a big part of our wins where we won 8 of our last 9 and had a 5 game winning streak

And if we're not contending by 2010 then we'll trade Doumit

Here's what to watch for on the last game of the year

Dodgers and Giants are tied for first in the NL West

Cubs are 1 game behind the Cardinals

the marlins, phillies, giants, dodgers are all tied for first in the wild card but the Dodgers and Giants are tied for the division too

The athletics, Yankees, rays are all tied for first in the AL wild card

but the rays and Yankees are only 1 behind the red sox

Pittsburgh Pirates(69-92) @ San Diego Padres(73-88)

The Pirates ended their regular season with a shutout win over the NL west worst San Diego Padres. The Pirates got 3 runs in the 2nd off of Justin Germano, capped by a 2 run triple by Andrew McCutchen and ended up winning by a score of 3-0. Paul Maholm earned his team leading 14th win by throwing 8 shutout innings while k's 8. Hanrahan who's ERA has dropped .30 points since becoming closer, finished off Eckstein, Gonzalez and Giles to end the game, and the Pirates season. The Pirates final record was 70-92, more on them after the postseason.
