After seeing the reviews and the pix, I'm gonna have to pass on this year's version.
It looks too childish now, and next year's will be SOOOO much better.
also, what I live for, the franchise mode, is basically gone.

I may buy it IF the Wii version has Create-A-Playbook, or if by some random luck, they made a GameCube version. Gamespot had something like 275 pictures of Madden on there, but they were for Madden 09. :(

Franchise mode is still there, but it's virtually unchanged I think. However, franchise mode is locked and needs to be unlocked by some code, but nobody really knows anything about that.

Dang IT! My favorite mode in the game is gone. I honestly thing that the cancelled series due to licenceing (MVP Baseball, ESPN NFL 2k football) are BETTER than the current stuff out there (excluding PP, Come On, it needs to be a little bit fair). I got NCAA 09 "All-Play" for Wii for $30. I can't play it yet because I'm at my grandmother's :x . But the All-Play stuff looks like 6 year old stuff so they can have fun playing it. Advanced Controls Please!
