Sent an email to the editors for the wii section on IGN. My gamespot account was not active. So some one should ask them as well.

What I sent to the editors.
along with many fans of the series are trying to find answers. We are asking on the 2K forums about if this game is coming stateside and we don't get any answers on this topic. I was wondering if anyone can help shed some light on this subject. We are wondering if we will actually see this series again or will we just have MLB PP 2007 & 2008 to play with forever.

you know something funny? i have never seen one mlb PP 07 or 08 commercial, EVER! yet i saw the game at gamestop, thought it was interesting, and bought it, and loved it, now if they could put as much if not half of the money they put into mlb 2k game commercials, they'd sell so many of the power pro games, that they'd b rolling in cash, if they arent already, but i'm sure their pool of money is starting to turn into a jaquzzi, lol, but yeah, they should use their heads not their A**es

Are you serious? That isn't actual baseball. It's just a bunch of mini-games. If i wanted to play mini-games, then i'll play Mario Party or Carnival Games. At least they probably cost less.

Looks like a 10 year old drew the graphics, that doesn't make the game obviously, but it helps.
Also, looking at some of the pics, those minigames don't seem like they would be fun and their not original either. You want Minigames then get Mario Superstar Baseball, you get real baseball AND annoying minigames!

Here are my two responses to the thread.

1. This looks like a flash based game. I am with the other guys I would rather wait for MLB PP 2010. I believe that it would out sell some of the 2K games on the market now based off of reviews that it would get.

2.Oh it also looks like a dreamworks movie with the big upper bodies and little legs. Its like I am playing Madagascar Baseball.

2K has got to be fricking kidding me. If 2K continues to put together this crap and call it a video game, they're going to go bankrupt.
It's probably glitchy and shot through with 2K's patented bugs, too.

I think I found the flash game they stole baseball blast from.

I was going to wait a little while to say what I am about to say, but now it seems as good a time as any. Over the past half-a-year or so, I have noticed, and participated in, a growing amount of support over a North American release of the Konami-developed Jikkyō Powerful Major League 2009, or as it’s known by its would-be translated title, MLB Power Pros 2009. But this has yet to happen, despite being released in Japan back in April, and with recent developments, it unfortunately does not look like this will happen, despite the fact that the previous two titles in the series were released here in the west, not to mention the fact that both are presently almost tied as the highest-rated baseball games for the Wii.*

Now, if there was a situation where localization was impossible, either due to Konami not wanting you to publish it, or due to you guys just not wanting to, all you have to do is tell us. Leaving us in the dark, like it seems you have been lately, does not do either side any good. Although I am certain some people will obviously not be happy with an official “no localization” announcement, it is still better than simply not saying anything on the subject, which does nothing more than anger and disappoint us all.

One question I have is, by ignoring us, our opinions, and our requests, do you really expect us to purchase your other games? Because this is what it feels like to me at least, and I can tell you from a personal standpoint, that will not be the result. We will likely either stick with the baseball games we already own (I know that I am content with the previous two Power Pros games), or in the case of the people playing the series on a PS2 or PS3, they have the option of instead going for the competition.

If I may criticize for a moment or two, I have noticed a continuous decrease of quality in the baseball games you have developed in the past several years. MLB 2K7 is, in my opinion at least, the best of the main series so far, but what I find to be ironic about this is that 2K7 was supposed to be the first stage of three years of development and improvement of the main series, and yet this is the best rated game of that now-completed three-year cycle. At the same time however, you have also attempted games of other gameplay styles as well, with mixed results. Of these games, I would say that the two Bigs games, as well as the two Konami-developed, 2K-published Power Pros games have been the lone bright spots. MLB Front Office Manager was a disappointment, the two MLB Fantasy All-Stars games were just plain awful, I’m not going to divulge further on games like MLB Superstars and MLB Stickball, and although I’m not one to criticize games I’ve never played, Baseball Blast sounds like it will be another disappointment.

With that having been said, I must stress that I have indeed played both MLB 2K9 as well as The Bigs 2, so I’m not just criticizing these games simply because I’m a Power Pros fan. 2K9, in my opinion, showed nice potential, but the large amount of bugs and glitches completely killed my experience with it. And I’ll admit, The Bigs 2 wasn’t all that bad, it’s just that there really wasn’t anything overly good about it either; to me, it was simply average.

In the end, I do still hope that MLB Power Pros 2009 is released out here, as from the images and trailer that I have seen, it looks to be the best game of the series, and I would hate to miss out on it. Let me close by stating that my view of 2K Sports has always been that of a company that cares about and listens to what their fans think and want, which is why I have been deeply disturbed by the recent display of apathy towards those of us who just want to play one specific game.

P.S. to anyone who reads this and agrees: please spread this around to anyone who cares to read it. I’d hate to see this effort go to waste.
