It wasn't that boring to me. It wasn't uber exciting like last year, which was my favorite game of the 2008 season by a long shot, but even though it was just a normal game with nothing really exciting, just the feeling of seeing all the best players playing together, and against each other is good enough and fun enough for me.

I thought the pitching was poor.

They could have brought in more exciting pitchers.

How would you like to see Wakefield's Knuckler for one inning?

Anyway, has anyone simmed the game (with PEs of course) on 2008?

I edited the rosters for the 2008 All-Star teams last year. I'll probably do the same for this year's All-Star rosters.

The highlight of the game for ME whouldve been to see Wakefield pitch, I mean the reason that he was on the roster was because Maddon respected him and because he hasn't been an all-star before and for all that he doesn't even pitch in his only all-star game he'll probably be apart of, that's the part I don't like about the Wakefield thing

I noticed that, too. A lot of pitchers, and I noticed players like Freddy Sanchez and Ryan Zimmerman didn't get to play.

Zimmerman played but he played for too long IMO
I hate it when players don't get to play when they're the only representative of a team. I mean, no player from the Cubs, Pirates, A's, or Angels and probably more played, here are guys who didn't play

Josh Beckett
Ted Lilly
Freddy Sanchez
Andrew Bailey
Zack Duke
Josh Johnson
Hunter Pence
Nelson Cruz
Justin Verlander
Jason Marquis
Johan Santana
Brian Fuentes
Tim Wakefield

Those are some pretty good names

There is no one that really stood out. Crawford made 1 nice grab and had a hit. If that is MVP worth, this game must really really suck and be super boring. It was a snooze feast. Poor defensive and little strikeouts with alot of flyouts. Last year was incredible. Cook got out of a BL jam with 0 outs and Nate made a great throw to keep the game tied. Pujols played like crap. I was really dissapointed by Tex, Lincecum and Halladay. Jeter didnt play that well. To be frank no one played well except the AL bullpen.

Last year was as good as it can get compared to this year, this was boring, really boring
The winning run came on a sac fly in like the 6th, there were no honeruns, not very great defense besides Crawford which wasn't exactly a breath taking catch, it wasn't suspenseful, not all the players played, there was no storyline, Pujols did nothing, and pretty much everything was done in the first 3 innings. It was boring.

I agree with you. Pity Wakefield did not play. I kinda feel sorry for him. 2003 ALCS remember? Now 1st All Star Game and he is unable to play. Blame Howard/Rivera :) But congrats to Rivera for 4th All Star Game save. Another thing added to him HoF Portfolio. Nathan/Papalbon/Rivera combo is kinda cool. I wanted Fuentes to come in to pitch to Howard. He is having a great season and I guess the Angels has bad offense and good pitching to get that many saves. 11 in a row good job!

I agree. I don't know what all these people are complaining about, but I enjoyed the game very much.
