Ok thanks guys. I'll let you know how I do against my brother when we can start playing after school's out. Keep the tips coming. :)

Well if you need any more detailed stuff from me you'd have to be more specific, which you can't really do until you play, or read these: http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/wii/game/928518.html

Well I'd usually just read the character ones. Usually if you plan on using them. And you can skip the character matchups and the stage stuff. I usually don't remember that stuff anyway.
Anyway they won't help too much until you first try it.

Yeah I just skimmed Olimar's for now since I've got no idea what most of the stuff they're talking about is. They should be pretty helpful though once I start playing.

kirby's down-b is great.
it isn't just an aerial attack, but it acts as a shield too.

i personally prefer king dedede and olimar, though olimar is advanced.

With added defenselessness *cough* grabs *cough*

List everything, I can walk you through it :P

Wait though... Another question arises: Did you play either of the other Super Smash Brothers games? That would make things a lot easier.

Yikes, then good luck. *gets popcorn*

Well I've been trying to make some demo videos for you. (I have some on my account now, but I was TERRIBLE back then).

Also, this game never stops being challenging, the CPU learns from you.
A CPU actually just edgehogged me (if you understood that part)

Anyway, on with the demos.

Oh wait, you could try Super Smash Flash: http://www.mcleodgaming.com/games.php
It's free and is kind of like Super Smash Brothers except obviously much worse.

Ok let me try harder.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZwjhoYjD ... annel_page

Take that video as an example. About 40 seconds in, Mario tries to escape from falling off the edge (meaning you lose a life, if you run out of lives you lose, with me so far?) He couldn't get up with his jumps alone, so he grabbed on to the edge, which it automatically does if the situation arises. However, if you are the one not recovering, you can jump near the edge and grab it yourself forcing your opponent to drop to his death if he lacks enough jumps to recover otherwise, meaning your opponent just lost a life, which is good (for you).

Honestly how have you not played a Super Smash Brothers game before?

Ike is good for starters and Meta Knight and Olimar are beasts once you perfect them.

Look up how to gimp with Meta knight on the gamefaqs character profiles easy KOs

Ok thanks. :) I think I'll start with Kirby though because almost everyone so far thinks he's good to start with.
