Buy some bonuses to start the first season: go to the shop and search for the item that gives a bonus to start the season - cost 10000 PP, there's three of them, each a larger bonus. This is especially good for players with a high payroll and people who sim through most of the season.

Don't start with Rookie settings. Your success mode players will have higher salaries.

use Normal settings and register all your success mode players there. If you have a favorite team, use it, if not, do a draft. Yankees are the hardest team to use because of the high payroll. Try trading the expensive players for cheaper ones:

Even with other teams, trade away the expensive players that don't play a key role for the team, or can be replaced easily. Too many 5-digit salaries are bad.

The higher the team salary, the more points you lose per game.

Winning the World Series and playoff series in between nets you over 80000 points.

Player awards should get you thousands more.

For beginners, put the difficulty on ROOKIE. Play the first 10-20 games and win them all. Then sim through the rest, playing a few games each month to keep the owner points at a reasonable level, although they will decrease. You should be able to make the playoffs easily.

If you really want to do well, then play every game and win by a large margin. Hit home runs. Spend points on practice equipment so the game is even easier with well-trained players.

Did I doom my team already? I bought a ton of practice items and I'm down to about 33k owner points, 6 games into the season. heheh

I think I'm much better at Season Mode than Success. Maybe I can have some suggestions.

I'll have to check, but I am the Reds, so I know the big #'s are coming from Dunn, Griffey and Arroyo. Next time I turn it on I'll check the other numbers.

Hmm, I haven't played any seasons yet but I did manage to get points from 4 success mode characters.

When the season points said back ordered I just purchased them. Still don't have enough for the last point unlock yet though.
