There is no vs. runner 4. It's either 2 or 3.

Probably only as captain, because you don't bat otherwise.

Ahhh, didn't realize that when I looked at it. Thanks!

I got 2nd Position 4 today with my Yogi Berra player. I started him off as a left fielder and switched to catcher because Milton was there, giving me regular 2nd Position at Left Field.

Then, on the Week after my Valentine's date with Sarah, Annie visited my practice for the 2nd time giving me her number. It was here that I got the 2nd Position 4 ability.

Hypothesis:
Possible reasons for triggering it include - I already had the other 2 girls' numbers (only dated Sarah thus far), or that I already had my 2nd position before getting her number.

Or maybe both.

I'm glad we're so close to cracking this thing. Good thing I held off creating backup players till now 8)

  • 2nd Position 4 - ???
  • Throwing 2 - Get injured
  • Baserunning 2
  • Stealing 2 - No @ Marvin's burger event in locker room
  • Consistency 2
  • VS Lefty 1/2
  • Cold Hitting Zones - Strike out with the bases loaded to end an inning
  • VS LH Batter 2
  • Pr Morale - No @ Position Switch event
  • Hothead - Challenge @ New York event
  • Walk

I'm particularly interested in Hothead and 2nd Position 4 so I'll donate 100 credits to whoever finds out how to get those

As for Breakup DP I heard it's randomly acquired by Challenging Sarah when she asks you to become a big leaguer, but haven't confirmed it yet. (edit: confirmed)

I earlier found a drafted player in season mode that had a Vs. Lefty 1. I guess it is possible.

One more thing about 2nd position 4. While it did give me a B for Left Field (primary position is Catcher). When I later, gambled for 2nd position at 1B, it was only a C. So the ability only applied to one category.

Didn't read everything, but I've gotten 2nd position a few times with different players. Both times, I was a 3b or CF, and I spend the first year upping my power rating only (because that is the hardest one to practice in season mode) and both times the coach asked to switch me to 1b.

If you say yes, you become a 1b and get another position, and get the 2nd position 4

Yeah, but that usually only gets 2nd position 3. The difference is that with 3, the 2nd position only gets a C rating and 4 gives a B rating.

I don't think you were asked to move because of your power. It's because Marvin/Milton/Peter already plays that position. Robbie says the power comment to make your guy feel better. This also causes me to wonder whether or not you're sure that it was 3B that your guy played. This usually only happens with 2B, LF, or CF.

Hang on, I'll look it up and see. I know once it was an infielder - either SS or 3B.

Yep - I've got a 2B/ 1B and a RF/1B - both with the 2nd position 4.

I remember the 2B/1B - but not the other one - I don't remember seeing him get 2nd position 4 - I just remember the whole scene with the coach/etc, and most times I say 'no' - but I said yes that time.

Maybe it has nothing to do with it - but it seems like EVERY time I go for straight power, the coach asks me to switch to 1B. That's why I just assumed it was what triggered it. I've never been asked to switch to any other positions.

I think it's independent of power. I always look to upgrade power first because it works well with the hyper-recovery bonuses.

As for the position switch, it depends on what fate card you use.
* I know no idea what the Marvin card does.
* No card has you switch to first base
* Yes card allows you to pick from any position except for pitcher, left field, center field, or second base
* Challenge card has you take a hitting test to "fight" for your position.

Whenever I do this, I always just get 2nd position 3, though.

Besides, RF usually don't get asked to switch positions, as no main character plays there. So maybe your uncommon results are dependent on something else.

When you usually go for straight power, how high is it when you are asked to switch positions?

Hmm, i've never been asked what position I want. I'll have to try that. We're talking about the scene where it's just you and the coach, and he doesn't say anything but you get his clipboard, right?

It's always first base, and I usually say 'no' which keeps my at my position or 'yes' which switches me. (or it could be the other way around, I can't remember how the question was phrased).

I think I tried a marvin card once, and it suggested that marvin switch to 1b, and you keep your position. I'm pretty sure that is what happened.

I think we found the discrepancy here. I'm talking about the scene with Robbie. If I play 2B, LF, or CF, right after Becky and the Coach tell me I made the team, Robbie will come and say he can handle things. Then comes the fate card decision I was talking about earlier.

I don't think I've ever had your situation.
