nomo looks like a pirate in that picture.
anyways, you're obviously going for some grizzled old pitchers (wake, nomo), any reason?

Consistency.

My younger guys are giving up games, or have too many red abilities. Nomo is probably going to be in AAA and only play if I can't land a deal for Zumaya, or something. He'll probably be included in that, anyways. Other than that, he has some decent breaking balls which I could really use.

Red Sox Barely Win

Meh, what a letdown. Pittsburg was horrible with a capital H, as they let Boston take an early and comfortable lead of four. They, however, were able to battle back for three in the later innings off a tired Okajima, but were unable to walk away with the victory.

for the record (no pun intended), its sox, not socks.

anyways, i'd go for rich harden or duaner sanchez.
good long relievers, young too.

He already got Chad Billingsley.

Harden is a bit expensive for what he's worth.

I don't know about Duaner.

Clay Hensley is a good choice.

Mmmk. The Yankees don't want to take cash. I wonder why...

hensley's control is slightly worse than harden's (i think), and harden has better stamina and breaking pitches (and abilities, i think)
btw, i took billingsley out.
who do the yanks have?

getting both of them would be awesome.
seriously, both would really help you.
teach zumaya a knuckleball or slow curve, and he'll have the fastest fastball and the slowest off-speed pitch (after wake retires)!

Yankees @ Pirates

This is going to be one heck of a matchup. The World Series Champion, Yankees, verse a small-market team that didn't make a splash even close to the Yankees in the free agent market. However, that's not what this is about. This is about baseball - two teams slug it out to win.

Chien-Ming Wang will take the mound for the Yankees. Chadd Billingsley will be starting for the Bucs. Neither of these two men have taken steroids like someone else in this game... A-Fraud, yeah, we're talking about you!

ImageImage

Let's wish the best luck of luck to the Bucs offense! Which looks like this:

1. Cody Ross - LF
2. Nate McLouth - RF
3. David Wright - 1B
4. Dan Uggla - 2B
5. Carl Crawford - CF
6. Chris Snyder - C
7. Ryan Zimmerman - 3B
8. Robinson Cano - SS

Now, the Bronx Bombers...

1. Johnny Damon - LF
2. Derek Jeter - SS
3. A-Fraud - 3B
4. Jorge Posada - C
5. Jason Giambi - 1B
6. Bobby Abreu - RF
7. Kevin Frandsen - 2B
8. Melky Cabrera - CF

We predict that the Bombers will only barely come away with the win.

Billingsley retires the side; Wright Homers, 0-1 Bucs

Billingsley was remarkably solid for his first inning of play, getting three easy grounders, but ended up allowing two people to get on base. However, David Wright supplied offensive support to his pitcher by bashing a homerun after Ross and McLouth popped out.

Interesting find, jacobye. That is funny. And something else? The only Yankee not on the 2008 opening day lineup is Cano. Hmm, wonder where he went? :D

@sjax: Harden is definitely better, but his salary is 8 times Hensley's.

Theres always something that makes me not want to get rid of my players and get stacked ones. For instance for the Red Sox, the only regular that I ever get rid of was Lugo
