John Grabow escapes top of fourth with minimal damage; one run surrendered. Pirates upto bat now, however...

John Grabow gave up one run and struck out Brian Giles and made Jim Edmonds groundout to Uggla. Nate McLouth is up and hopes to get the lead back upto four runs... Pirates are ahead, 6-9.

Nate McLouth walked, Wright homers

Pirates are up by five after the Padres walked McLouth and gave up a four-hundred plus foot bomb to Wright. That's his second homerun of the game...

Grabow gives up one run in fifth; Padres battling back as a runner is in scoring posistion!

Lights out. Please. Please. The Pirates definetly need Grabow to completely pull the plug on the Padres offense, if he doesn't, bad things may happen... like a loss...

Grabow gets out of jam, however Padres enter one...

John Grabow was able to pitch himself out of a jam by getting Clay Hensley to ground into a double play, and then striking out Pablo Ozuna. However, the Padres enter trouble as Ross and McLouth both get singles, so two runners are on base for... David Wright.

Wright hits a two run shot, his twenty-fourth of the season...

This is why Wright was traded for, joke trade or not, it was a good trade.

Game progresses smoothly into the ninth; Matt Capps on the mound for the Bucs who are up by seven. Bucs force Padres to turn to starter Jake Peavy. 14-7 Bucs predicted final and current score...

Pirates win; Capps gives up double to Edmonds and he scores on a single by Adrian Gonzalez. David Wright named Player of the Series and Game!

Final Score: 14-9

This was a tough win for the Pirates. However, they came out aye-okay and ontop, which is what we, as Pirates' fans, love to see. The most memorable moments of the game would have to be:

-Wright's third homer of the game.
-Every one of Betancourt's pitches
-Edmonds grandslam....

Well, I hope you enjoyed that game. The Bucs are now on a four game winning streak and looking for first in the NL Central... Oh yeah, did I mention this guy was named series MVP?

Congratulations, David! You're a talented player and a good friend, Pittsburg salutes you for your hardwork against the Padres!

David Wright crowned Player of the Week

As if is week couldn't get even better! David Wright was crowned Player of the Week by Bud Selig for "an awesome performance, carrying a team, and ten homeruns and twenty RBIs in arow all while batting .519."

Wright is having an awesome week and month. He hopes to continue playing like this and "lead the Pirates to the World Series."

Bucs acquire Cano and Chamberlain from Yankees, Doumit and Bautista say bye-bye Pittsburg.

This was an interesting trade for both teams... The Bucs continue to strengthen their pen, but give up a powerful Bautista in the process. However, they receive a young, dominant Cano to play short...

Bucs expected to make one more big move as deadline nears...

Yup, ReLink won't say for who, or why, but he says you can expect to see another player in a Pirates' uniform before the deadline is up.

Deadline passes, Bucs don't make move

SIKE!

Today, Andrew ReLink announced that they have acquired Chad Billingsley from the Dodgers for John Van Benshoten. This trade really helps the Pirates' bullpen. As you should know, Chad is a young player, and will be a great starter or ace in a club one day if he can work on his control and stamina. "We picked him up because we intend on building around him and others in the offseason." ReLink said. His statement is that of controversy.

Welcome to the Bucs, Chad!

Scandal

As it currently stands, and because the trade deadline has passed, the Pirates' General Manager, Andrew ReLink, is under investigation by Bud Selig. This is a shocker. No one expected it, either did Grady Little. "Honestly, I'm shocked. I have nothing else to say about the matter other than to say I'm shocked." Grady Little said when confronted with the news. He scurried back into his office after hearing the news, furious.

For those of you who do not know, Andrew ReLink, is accused of embezzeling Pirates funds and betting on the outcome of games - something that is illegal for someone like him to do. As for Little not knowing what was happening with the Pirates' funds, well that's his fault. Well, yeah, it is. He trusted Andrew with the team finances. He thouht he'd be a great move since he was a CFO of a huge corporation.

"I'm not guilty. Stop saying I'm guilty." Andrew stated to a reporter for the New York Times. "I'd never do such illegal activities. I'm clean, I've always been clean, and I always will be. So, shut up. Stop saying I'm guilty." Andrew has a lot on his plate. Since the allegations unfolded, he's been fired from the General Management and Management posistions in which he held.

Little is hurrying to find a replacement, but with the amount of funds he has left, the chances of such are highly unlikely. In fact, the Pirates only have four million dollars left and the team salary is well over that... they might be forced into major reconstruction in the off-season if fans do not come out and support the team.

...Yeah, this will be a semi-major story in my franchise for awhile. Basically, if you want spoilers, PM me cause I don't want to ruin it for everyone.

Anonymous Donation of Funds

It appears the Pirates' budget crisis is over. Grady Little, owner, announced today that he has recieved a "large sum of money, equal to that of which I paid to own this establishment. The budget crisis is over, and I am pleased to see someone be so charitable." Little, of course, has yet to disclose how much he paid, which makes the sum of cash anonymous. However, according to some experts "the donation is fishy and probably illegal."
