McLouth grounds out, Ross advances to third; Wright hits twenty-second home run of year. Pirates up 2-0

Welp, looks like the Pirates have something started. Too bad for Wolf and the Padres. This game is probably over especially now that Uggla is up.

Uggla goes to warning track, but Edmonds is there for easy catch. Kearns hits a double to right-center; drove in by Chris Snyder's RBI double. Kearns pulls muscle sliding into home; outcome questionable at best!

Uggla dissapointed thousands of Buc fans as he popped up to Edmonds, although he gave the ball a good ride - to the warning track in fact. However, it wasn't good enough. Austin Kearns hits a double to right-center and is later drove in by Chris Snyder. Boy, he's had a good run for the Pirates, yeah. Though, Kearns hurt as he slides; trainer's unsure if he'll return for game.

Chris Duffy is planned to replace Kearns if he can't play.

Kearns out for game, replaced by Duffy. Wolf is pulled after giving up a two-run to Bautista, scoring Snyder. Dumatrait pops out to new pitcher, Wilfredo Ledzema.

Austin Kearns injured himself as he slid into home. Luckily, he scored, but sadly he is unable to play the rest of the game. Trainers have him scheduled for MRI before game ends. On a good note, Bautista hits a two-run shot to right, scoring Snyder. After that, Padres pulled starter Randy Wolf for Wilfredo Ledzema.

Duffy will be replacing Kearns at center. Pirates are up, 6-0.

Dumatrait gives up three hits, bases loaded for Great Young...

It looks like bad news for Dumatrait...

Young, Great Young hits a grounder to Uggla, tagging Gerut, throwing to first for double play.

Thanks to Uggla, Dumatrait gave up no run in the second, despite giving up three hits and allowing the bases to be loaded!

Cody Ross manages a single up the middle, McLouth drives him in with an RBI would-be triple, but is tagged out. David Wright robbed of homerun by high right field fence, settles for single. Uggla, however, knocks him in a with a double! Chris Duffy set to get his first at bat in ages...

Uh, sorry if you don't like the game log. My dad gave me the laptop, so I figured I'd do a few of these.

Duffy hits a grounder to shortstop, Great Young. Uggla tagged out at third, Duffy caught in rundown. Pittsburg leads 8-0.

Dumatrait gives up three more hits in third... trouble brewing; bases loaded, no outs... Brian Giles is up next...

Phil Dumatrait had a wonderul first inning, but it looks like things are starting to go down hill for the Boston Red Sock's First Round draft pick... he's given up a single to pitch hitter, Tony Clark, Pablo Ozuna, and Tadahito Iguchi... He'll be facing the heart and soul of the Padres' lineup next...

He was Boston's first round pick??
And their heart of the order isn't that good besides Gonzalez

Giles grounds into fielder's choice, Uggla gets force at home. Edmonds comes up to hit grandslam, 8-4 Pirates.

Dumatrait is about to be pulled after giving up a grandslam to centerfielder, Jim Edmonds. So far, he's given up seven hits and four runs. Betancourt starting in bullpen, expected to come in soon...

Gonzalez grounds out to Uggla; Barrett hits one up the middle for a single. Dumatrait pulled in third, Rafael Betancourt makes Pirates' debut!

Oh yeah... the infield and outfield was playing back, well, everyone but Uggla was as he was able to field a weak grounder and throw Gonzalez out at first. However, Barrett came in and hit a grounder up the middle for a single before Dumatrait is pulled.

Betancourt gives up one hit, single. However, comes back to make Great Young ground to Wright. Chris Snyder grounds out, Ryan Zimmerman, was able to inch a bigfly over the centerfield fence. Pirates up 9-4.

Betancourt quickly gave up a single to Jody Gerut, but was able to get Great Young out. He had a good start, and hopes to continue it... Chris Snyder, however, grounded out to second baseman Iguchi, but Ryan Zimmerma was able to hit a long one over the centerfield fence for a homerun.

Betancourt gives up one run after Kouzmanoff hits a double. Betancourt pulled, John Grabow told to "win it".

Rafael Betancourt had a good debut for the Pirates, but he was pulled for John Grabow, in hopes that Grabow can finish the game with little to no damage. Pirates, however, are still wining, 5-9.
