Pirates announce intention to trade Grabow to the Indians!

We got a word with Andrew ReLink earlier today and he stated, "Grabow, a great asset to the team, is struggling with a high ERA. We shopped his name around and the Indians said they would be 'very interested' in doing business with us. We are currently asking for Rafael Betancourt, who has a 1.67 ERA. We are hoping and praying that it goes through."

Rafael Betancourt could possibly be trading in his Indians' uniform for a Pirates' one... this is considered to be a wonderful move for the Pirates bullpen, especially since it cuts salary by a bit. However, fans are not happy and are threatening to quit watching and going to games if Grabow leaves. ReLink doesn't seem worried, stating "This trade can take us to the World Series. If we have a better bullpen, we can get to the postseason."

John Grabow said the trade wasn't fair. "I do the best I can do," he stated, "I always have. Now, they suddenly have a problem with me? This new ownership stinks. They've traded away all my friends, not counting Zach Duke. Maybe this will be a blessing in disguise for me..."

Hahaha. Thanks, Jacobye. I trade for the best people I can, and hope they're cheap. The Wright trade adds some salary, but I'm not too concerned since I make what I pay him annualy a month. :)

Most of the games he's pitched in, he hasn't blown or gave up that many runs. He's become a solid player in the pen.

Joe Kerrigan fired from Coaching Posistion...

Grady Little has announced today that he's tired of Joe Kerrigan. He doesn't want him near the Pirates organization anymore, after he started to cause trouble with Felix Hernandez. Felix alledges, Kerrigan has approached him about "intentionally" blowing a game.

Image
Kerrigan who hasn't been with the Pirates for long has already been fired. His replacement, however, is shocking...

Nolan Ryan set to replace Kerrigan immediatly!!!

Oh yes... Nolan Ryan has returned to the baseball scene, this time for the Pirates. He has agreed to a six year, fourty-million deal with incentives. Ryan, is one of the best pitchers of all time, so this pickup is very good.

He already announced his intentions to "stop the Grabow trade". This means, for one, Nolan has left his Presidential posistion with the Rangers.

No, no, trade Grabow!! Betancourt is one of the best relief pitchers out there!! I strongly, strongly recommend the trade as long as you don't have to give up anything other than Grabow. Seriously, it's a great trade.

...Betancourt is being acquired no matter what. I can assure you that much.

Betancourt-Grabow trade falls through, Indians ask for Gomez & Osoria

The Pirates continue to shock the baseball world as they continually pursue hot, talented players. The rest of the league stands no chance if this trade passes. Especially since Betancourt has been lights out for everyone he has faced this season, sporting a 1.17 ERA. This means good news for the Pirates.

The Indians will recieve Chris Gomez and Franquelis Osoria. Chris has had a hot bat this year, but he's a bench player, which means he can easily be traded. Franquelis, however, is a minor leaguer with no MLB Experience this year. He should be easy to trade.

Though, don't be a downer. The Pirates will recieve rookie third baseman, Angel Chavez from the Indians along with Betancourt!

Grabow speaks about *almost* being traded

"I thought it would go through," Grabow said speaking about the Betancourt trade. "I really did, and I really don't want to leave the Bucs. We're having a phenomenal year that I wanted to be apart of. I said some things I'm not proud of, and I regret it. However, the new pitching coach, Nolan Ryan, saved my butt. For that, I owe him."

Pirates @ Padres - Game One

King Felix gets his first start for the Pirates in this game. He's expected to do very, very well and give up no runs, strikeout ten, and come away with the victory. Well, that's the kind of numbers he was putting up for Seatlle, but we all know the National League has the better bats this year! Anyway, it'll be a leftie dual - King Felix vs. Scott Kazmir. Both of them have been aces this year and have competed several times.

Again, that's King Felix on the mound for the Pirates and Scott Kazmir on the mound for the Padres.
ImageImage

King Felix Scouting Report:

+Awesome spin on breaking balls.
+Beautiful changeup and curve, probably one of the best.
-He's not consistent on the mound, but he'll give even the best hitters a run for their money.

Scott Kazmir Scouting Report:

+Decent fastball, good speed.
+Stellar slider, good control.
-He'll walk afew batters if he doesn't strike them out first.

Pirates Starting Lineup

1. Cody Ross - LF
2. Nate McLouth - RF
3. David Wright - 1B
4. Dan Uggla - 2B
5. Austin Kearns - CF
6. Chris Snyder - C
7. Ryan Zimmerman - 3B
8. Jose Bautista - 3B
9. King Felix - Pitcher

Padres Starting Lineup

1. Pablo Ozuna - 3B
2. Tadahito Iguchi - 2B
3. Brian Giles - RF
4. Jim Edmonds - CF
5. Adrian Gonzalez - 1B
6. Michael Barrett - C
7. Jody Gerut - LF
8. Great Young - SS
9. Scott Kazmir - Pitcher

Both offenses are loaded with power and contact hitters alike. It'll be one of those duals you'll sit on the end of your seat to watch!

Prediction

Baseball experts are predicting the Pirates rally in the ninth to come away with the victory in a slugfest.

Final Score

13-6, Pirates.

Grady Little: Highway robbery. I didn't expect Marlins' management to be stupid enough to go for the Bixler-Sanchez trade, and the Sanchez-Uggla trade was just... great. I got their best player for my third best. Not to mention I have Cody Ross, someone they could use right now, especially since he's tearing it up. Fourth in RBIs.

The fan went on to throw shoes at Little...

1. you really didn't make any friends with that statement, you know...
2. nice reference to the george bush incident.

anyways, good job, i still say you should get betancourt.

I am going to get Betancourt before the deadline is up. I have a four star trade on the table right now.
