There are a couple of player logs (by Smiley & Hockey) floating around here. I have my own player log I can email you and it includes the other two. Send me a PM and I'll send it over.

my best player, david wrong, was made after numerous "crappy" players.
(how bad? mid 80s fastball, Ds in Stam and ctrl, and 2 pitches, both around 4 break. not good compared to some players...)
anyway, he can be found on the first page of 2008 Password exchange.
my mini-log of david wrong can be found on the 2nd page of 2008 success mode
its title is "Wow, I got pretty lucky (NO S/L)"

my four tips:
1. don't be afraid to S/L a surprise bag for gambler's ring or at least a SoP. if you do get a gambler's ring, S/L every time you use it, otherwise it might break or you might waste it.
2. practice only when you see coaches. there are exceptions of course, but for the most part...
3. two great arcs to do: sittch's arc (you get original pitch and tons of technique and mentality points)
patty's arc, if you want gyro. gyro is great with power pitchers! You can also get numerous abilities.
4. Use the break in December and January to do some arcs.
just take a break from practicing, since you won't raise coach's or scout's eval until they come back in Feb.
hope that helps, and hope your player turns out well!

I think having a job is important, or at least it makes it easier to boost top speed. If you save a chunk of the money you earn you can buy a few glove waxes in the end. You can also buy some gambler's tickets and boost that way once it becomes more expensive as your guy goes above 90+ mph. I'm a big fan of Siitch's arc to make sure you get the mentality required to boost control. Really, practices are the worst way to improve a character IMO, you've just got to do them to some degree to hit coach/manager requirements.

Yeah, you have to S/L
It's a major pain but it's how ppl get those high stats.
Make sure you are meeting scout/coach benchmarks though.

Also, when u finish the player, sell all things not important, like rokkie charm, any powerins, ect. and buy the glove waxes which will up your top speed 1 per wax, so dont spend as much exp on top speed, wait until end to buy the glove wax to get free top speed, if i would've known that before, my one pitcher I made would have like 95 or 96 top speed :(

woops, i didnt see the post in here about this. oh well

Why wait until the end to buy glove wax? Between the TV thief, Jaw jobs, and Steak arc, you should be able to rack up between $3000 and $4500 before Yr 2, even after you stock up on carryover chocolates early in the game. Load a Pitching Heart Glove with wax before the start of Season 2, and you should be somewhere between 100-105 mph. I have only made one pitcher, but with the help of wax, I went into the first game of Season 2 with 102 mph, 178 control and 232 stamina. 4 of my 5 starts before the championship resulted in perfect games with 20+ k’s. Perfect games provide a ton of experience points which can be used to boost control and breaking pitches. The last few mph can be attained with whatever waxes you pick up on your way to the finish (Doc thief, S-Bags, trip to Bison for carryover chocs, dating, etc).

The more waxes you buy for mph, the more experience you will save for boosting control and breaking pitches. And the earlier you can buy those waxes, the more dominating your pitcher will be. And the more dominating your pitcher is, the more experience points you will earn. And the more experience points you earn, the more . . . well, you get it. Originally, my goal was for 10 mph to be wax-based, and I think I achieved that. When I do it again, I will aim for about 15.

True, but if ya wait until end and sell unimportant stuff, you'll be able to buy more of them.

also, don't make the same mistake i did:
at the end, when you can't gamble on anything else with your gambler's ring, it'll disappear!
you can sell it for a huge price too, so consider this carefully!

You can do it either way, but if you wait until the end to max your pitcher's speed, you are leaving some valuable experience points on the table. I spend my leftover money at the end on whichever of these I still need: W Shot, Tri Fangs and spikes wax. Here is the one and only pitcher I ever made:

MPH 105
CTRL 182
STM 242

TRJ 2

RUN SPD 15
ARM STR 14
