That really messes with the balance of the lineup. Three straight lefties (Damon, Cano, Abreu). And Cabrera is worse against lefties than righties (although still pretty even). Betemit is much worse against lefties than righties. Posada is like Cabrera - worse against lefties. So, playing the splits, that's eight guys who do worse against lefties - leaving only A-Rod. To easy to manage against. Of course, that's pessimistic. Cabrera and Posada are even enough. Plus, the bench is righty-loaded.

well they are going up against the right handed bannister, but still a weird lineup. I just don't see who we could put in the 2 spot besides cano. And... cano strikes out with the bases loaded! :x Plus hughes not looking good early.

But if they go to the BP, it won't be hard to pick a pitcher. I think Cabrera would be good at 2. His splits are more even. He's also doing better at getting on base thus far. Come May - if anyone but Jeter, I would definitely put in Cano.

Sure he's been pretty good lately, but just take a look at last year's numbers and there's no way I'd put him at that high in the lineup. Less than .330 OBP. And now Hughes has loaded the bases with 2 walks and HBP all with two outs. Hope he can get out of it.

It's all about riding the hot streaks. And Detroit ... ugh.

Detroit loses again (HAH, I bet sox sweep)

AL Central is muddled... a mediocre version of NL west where the teams are evenly matched... NL central more so... but so more stinky!

NL Central.... well.... smells funny

AL West is Angels to lose... like they lost today to Indians after leading 2-1 in top 9th.... Nice job K-Rod to blow his ankle and think he can still pitch... Blows BOTH ankles and forces Spier to blow today's save.

Suddenly Dodger starting pitching is looking horribly suspect... now leading al teams with most runs allowed in 1st inning (11).

Lol, remember guys, 7-8 games into the season sadly doesn't mean very much... only 155 or so games to go and too much can change.

and yet the dodgers still can't beat them...

Joe Beimal told Russel Martin he needs a "hitting gnome" for good luck... It worked yesterday (a 9-3 victory), but went dead today (9-1 loss) against the Red Legs....

If Arroyo will let them keep hitting doubles into left center the 'stros will have a .500 batting average, let alone the record!

My favorite team (the mets if you can't tell by my username) are annoying me. They have one of the best teams in MLB:
Johan Santana, Carlos Beltran, David Wright, Jose Reyes
And they are only 17-15
Considering their team, they should be a lot better than that.
Most of their hitting is in a slump, except Ryan Church
Their Pitching isn't doing as well as it should either.

THe Braves look like a good team, but it soesn't seem like thier doing their best either. I'm happy though because I think the Mets are finally in a groove to do better! 8) :D

I'm not
I mean, don't get me wrong, I actually like the Mets. But why the hell did they need to start playing on Sunday (and Saturday to some extent)?!?!? Couldn't they wait a day later!?
